Tony Khan addresses AEW-Max viewership and more at Dynasty media call

The media call ahead of AEW Dynasty saw Tony Khan respond to a number of questions about the upcoming pay-per-view and the company as a whole.

  • Responding to Jon Alba, the AEW President stated that the viewership numbers for AEW on Max were “kept close to the vest” but everything he’s heard in the BJ Bethel report is consistent with what he’s previously heard on the matter.
  • When asked by Alex Hunt about Sting inducting Lex Luger into the WWE Hall of Fame, Khan said he wasn’t sure how he’d react to being approached, but he would have a conversation with Sting about it after a conversation before Revolution didn’t bring the subject up.
  • Tony Khan responded to a question from Ella Jay regarding Athena’s appearances on AEW television going forward, stating a lot of it depends on the upcoming women’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament.
  • In response to a Jason Powell question on AEW moving Collision to Thursdays, Khan stated he likes what they have on Saturdays and the opportunities they’ve been presented with lead-ins, but are open to doing anything Warner Bros. Discovery needs them to.
  • When asked by Fightful about how he reacts to negative feedback, and how he decides when to pivot or stay the course, the AEW President stated that the information he gets from WBD, Neilsen, and direct reactions are all important to him, as is staying in touch with the fans’ desires. Adding to this, Khan states the company tracks popularity and engagement around wrestlers, and they’re not always correlated, but says AEW takes great pride in fan feedback.
