Saraya says there really isn’t a spot for her in AEW right now

During an appearance on the Lightweights Podcast, as part of her press tour to promote her new memoir, “Hell in Boots: Clawing My Way Through Nine Lives,” which releases on March 25, Saraya talked about how busy she has been outside of AEW and if she plans to return to the ring anytime soon.

Saraya said she has been extremely busy and that even though she wants to get back in the ring eventually, she feels like at her age and at the time right now in AEW, there is really not a spot her. She also added that while she loves wrestling, AEW doesn’t need her right now.

“Oh my gosh, yeah, so this year’s been really frigging busy, which is great. Like, I’ve been doing a lot of self-tapes, which is like auditions that you do…I do self-tapes. I do, obviously, media for the book and all that kind of fun stuff. And then, yeah, just a lot of things outside of wrestling. I haven’t been doing a lot of wrestling things…I mean, I feel like at this age and time, there isn’t really a spot for me right now. I feel like everybody’s got their own thing. Eventually — I love wrestling, I will be back at work at some point. But, right now, it’s just like — it’s good. They don’t need me. They don’t need me.”

Saraya recently spoke with Rick Ucchino of Sports Illustrated. The 32-year old noted that her professional wrestling career is coming to an end ‘very soon.’ She also said during the time that she has left, her focus is uplifting other competitors in AEW and doesn’t have any issues losing matches. However, during an interview with TMZ Sports this past January, Saraya did indicate she has left the door open for a return to WWE.

Her current deal with AEW is set to expire this September.
