AEW’s Buddy Matthews suffered an ankle injury during Saturday’s at Grand Slam Australia as per reports from PWInsider and F4WOnline.

A now deleted tweet from Matthews has been making the rounds on Reddit and other social media, in which Matthews commented that if it wasn’t for the 16×16 ring used for Grand Slam Australia, he would not have been injured. However, AEW producer and coach QT Marshall confirmed reports from Sunday that the ring size used for the event was 18×18 and not the 16×16 as believed to be. Marshall also added that this is not the first time AEW has used an 18×18 ring.
