International Championship Series announced for AEW Dynamite

During Saturday’s AEW Grand Slam Australia, it was announced that this Wednesday on Dynamite, will the be the start of the International Championship Series.

The series is designed to determine who Kenny Omega’s opponent will be at the Revolution pay-per-view on Sunday, March 9.

Wednesday’s first match to start off the series will see Orange Cassidy vs. Roderick Strong in a rematch from last year’s Revolution pay-per-view. The winner of the match will then go on to challenge Konosuke Takeshita on the following week’s episode of Dynamite. Whoever wins the title, will then have to defend it against Omega at the Revolution pay-per-view.

In addition to the International Series, Wednesday’s Dynamite will also feature the following:

-The Opps (Samoa Joe, Hook and Katsuyori Shibata) vs. The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian)

-MJF and Hangman Page will go face-to-face

-Street Fight: Big Bill vs. Powerhouse Hobbs

This Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite will take place from the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona and will air live on TBS and Max, beginning at 8:00 pm ET. AEW will also tape next Saturday’s episode of Collision after Dynamite goes off the air.
