Sting announced on X that 2025 will his final year he appears at conventions with face paint and his in-ring gear. He did also note that he will be still make appearances after this year, but not in the Sting costume.
The 65-year old WWE Hall of Famer had his final retired last March, at the Revolution PPV in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is the same venue he wrestled Ric Flair at the very first Clash of Champions under Jim Crockett promotions. In his final match, Sting teamed with Darby Allin, retaining the AEW World Tag Team Championships against the Young Bucks.
Sting recently signed a multi-year licensing contract with AEW. He lives in Texas and has been rumored to be a part of the All In: Texas pay-per-view which will take place at Globe Life Stadium in Arlington on Saturday, July 12.
