AEW’s Britt Baker says she’s exhausted, talks on her role in Cobra Kai season six

During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, AEW star Britt Baker said that when it comes to dealing with the notoriously-opinionated pro wrestling community, she is finished holding back, saying that she is exhausted and is no longer going to be polite.  Baker had received a lot of criticism with her match against Mercedes Mone’ at the All In pay-per-view. Some had said the match was fine, while others said it was a huge disappointment with poor build-up.

“I’m exhausted…I’m not going to be polite anymore. Leave me alone. Politeness is 2024. Everyone needs to be real and authentic and the world will be a better place.”

When asked about how her 2024 has gone, Baker said it’s been a roller coaster. Her long-time partner Adam Cole recently confirmed that he and Baker are no longer together in a relationship, but remain friends.

“Roller coaster is a good word…But I also don’t think it’s appropriate, because with a roller coaster there’s a start and an end point. I can’t really say where the roller coaster started and I definitely don’t know where it’s going to end.”

When asked about what is reported or said about her, she you can’t ever believe what you read.

“You can’t ever believe what you read about yourself, whether it’s really good or really bad, or you’re going to end up medicated and sedated potentially…It’s tough because we live in a world where social media is so prominent. Social media fuels what we do, essentially…We rely on it. But man, is it toxic. It’s brutal. There’s a whole population of people on social media who just want to make you feel bad about yourself. It’s crazy we live in a world where that’s their mission. ‘I’m going to wake up today, tweet 10 mean tweets to Britt. I’m gonna take a lunch break. And then maybe I’ll do 10 more.’ It’s bizarre.”

Baker also discussed her appearance in Netflix series Cobra Kai. She has a role in the ninth episode of season six, which was released on back on November 15. Baker noted that she met of the show’s writers, Hayden Schlossberg who recognized her. She went on to say that she told Schlossberg she is a big fan of the show and in a kind of joking way, but not joking, would love to be involved and then kept on bugging him. Her persistence eventually worked, as she landed a role in show.

“Eventually he [Schloessberg] called me and said, you really have the Cobra Kai never say die attitude. If you’re interested, we have a role for you in mind…”

In the episode, Baker plays Oksana who is one of the of Russian sensis of the Tiger Strike dojo who competes in the Sekai Taikai Tournament. Baker further noted that she has yet to watch the episode.

“I have to be honest, I haven’t even watched it yet…I want to wait for all of it to come out so I can watch it all!”

Baker last competed on the November 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, defeating Penelope Ford by submission.

Baker was out of action for 10 months after suffering a mini stroke. She made her return at the Forbidden Door PPV this past June. Soon after her return, AEW briefly suspended and fined her following an argument that took place backstage with MJF.
