Ahead of the upcoming pay-per-view Forbidden Door, AEW President Tony Khan spoke to the media on a call to address a number of questions:
Regarding his interest in Donovan Dijak and Becky Lynch given their current status, Khan joked that he wouldn’t be doing any negotiations on a media call but thinks the movement in and out of free agency has been great for fans and the business, citing the signing of Mercedes Mone’, Will Ospreay, and Kazuchika Okada.
On injury updates, Khan said Britt Baker “could be returning soon” and mentioned Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, and Jamie Hayter as talent he is excited to get back to bring the company to full strength.
The AEW President went on to address the live gate for Forbidden Door, stating it is approaching $1 million and 10,000 tickets sold.
Khan ended the call by noting the company is “in the red zone” to indicate that AEW is close to making their new media rights deal.
Forbidden Door takes place Sunday, June 30 from the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York, and can be purchased on various PPV platforms including TrillerTV.
