Report: Chuck Taylor’s ‘career-ending’ injury is legitimate

Following a recent parking lot brawl with Trent Beretta, reports have confirmed that Chuck Taylor is legitimately not expecting to return to the ring anytime soon.

Orange Cassidy revealed on the Dynamite after the brawl that Taylor “will never wrestle again,” with the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stating that while the former PWG World Champion was given a storyline injury to explain his absence, the statement of his career coming to an end is legit.

Fightful Select has since confirmed this, noting that his ankle injury had not improved but that Taylor wanted to have the parking lot brawl as he was “well aware” that the injuries would sideline him indefinitely.

It was further reported that Taylor had been training as a producer/coach in recent months due to the severity of the injury.

On commentary, Excalibur noted that the type of fracture Taylor sustained resulted in necrosis of the bone in fragments underneath the cartilage, something that even with surgery would likely result in active competition no longer being an option.

Wrestleview wishes Chuck Taylor all the best in his recovery and whatever the future holds for him in professional wrestling.
