During the Wednesday episode of Grilling JR, Jim Ross confirmed he has signed a new deal with AEW. Ross said it was not an extension, but a brand new contract.
Ross also said that the new contract was probably the quickest and easiest negotiation he has ever done in his 50-year career. He then went on to say that it was all because of Tony Khan’s commitment to him as a broadcaster. Furthermore, Ross said that the new deal is centered around more work on pay-per-views.
His last deal expired back on February 14. Ross returned to commentary at this past Sunday’s Revolution pay-per-view to call Sting’s last match with Tony Schiavone and Excalibur.
According to Fightful Select, Matt Hardy’s contract with AEW contract is set to expire this month. The report also notes that Hardy and AEW were in contact recently about the deal, but there is not word if his current contract will be extended.
