According to a report from Fightful Select on Sunday, NJPW star Kazuchika Okada may have already made decided on whether he will sign with AEW or WWE.
The report notes Okada is expected to sign with AEW following his departure from NJPW, which will be later this month. Fightful Select also notes that the deal between Okada and AEW was “effectively agreed to” over the last couple of weeks. However, it was also so by Fightful Select, that they could not confirm if an actual contract has been signed.
Fightful further notes that AEW had been confident over the last several weeks that they would be able to sign Okada. AEW also has creative ideas for him that had been “tossed around” last month.
Okada is a five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, where his fourth reign with the title was his longest in history at 720 days. In addition, he also holds the record for most successful title defenses at 12.
