AEW News: Estimated All In PPV buys, Heat on AR Fox, Jon Moxley at indy show

Estimated All In London PPV Buys

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the number of buys for the AEW All In London pay-per-view is between 168,000 and 184,000.

Depending on the final number, All In London could end up as the second-highest bought PPV in AEW’s history. All Out 2021 currently holds the highest record with 215,000 buys.

The 2022 Revolution PPV currently has the second-highest bought record at a reported 175,000 buys.

Reported Heat On AR Fox

According to Fightful Select, AEW sources told them the company had planned for AR Fox to be at the All In PPV at Wembley Stadium in London, England. AEW changed their plans and instead booked Christian Cage to be Swerve Strickland’s tag partner in the tag team coffin match against Sting and Darby Allin.

Fightful Select also notes the last overseas appearance for Fox at a pro wrestling show took place back in 2016. It was further stated Fox apparently was not “forthright” to AEW about his qualifications and ability to work on an international level. Fightful Select did not provide any additional details on Fox’s situation.

Because Fox was not going to be able to appear at All In, AEW made the decision to book him to get pinned by Nick Wayne back on the August 23 episode of Dynamite. Fightful did conclude in their report by noting that Fox is “well-liked” within AEW. However, there was still heat on him and it was decided that it would best creatively to be kicked out of Mogul Embassy.

After the November 30, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite, following his match against Samoa Joe, Tony Khan announced Fox signed a contract with the company.

Jon Moxley make surprise appearance at independent show

AAW held its Art of War show on Thursday, August 31, with a barbedwire deathmatch headlined by Robert Anthony vs. Mance Warner.

When it looked like Warner was going to win the match, the lights in the venue went off. When they came back on, Anthony’s long-time friend Jon Moxley was in the ring. Moxley then confronted Warner and took him out with a double-armed DDT, allowing Anthony to get the win.
