Back on May 1, Leva Bates announced on Twitter that her AEW deal expired and that she was no longer with the company.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, Bates was reportedly surprised by the news that her contract was not getting renewed. It was further noted Bates actually had found out when other AEW talents tried to contact her about it.
Fightful Select concluded that there was a push from several in AEW about keeping Bates on the roster. It is unknown, as of this writing if AEW will consider re-signing her to a new deal, despite the push from other with the company.
Bates had been with AEW since the company’s inception in 2019. It was said that she had several backstage roles within the company. She was best known for coming out on Dark and Dark: Elevation in a librarian gimmick. In addition to her backstage and on-screen roles, she was heavily involved in AEW’s Heels Program.
