AEW CEO and President Tony Khan announced on Twitter Saturday that Kenny Omega will defend the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against NJPW’s Jeff Cobb on this coming Wednesday’s Dynamite, live on TBS from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, MO.
Omega captured the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship from Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom 17 this past January. This will the first title defense for Omega since he won the title.
Cobb said in a backstage promo at the NJPW New Japan Cup event on March 21, he was coming for Omega in St. Louis.
