Kenny Omega confirms AEW Fight Forever video game was delayed due to rating issue

During his appearance on the most recent Swerve City Podcast, AEW EVP President Kenny Omega confirmed the issues that have been keeping the upcoming AEW Fight Forever video game from being released was having to scale down content in order to get a ‘Teen’ rating in the United States by the ESRB (Entertainment Ratings Software Board).

You can watch the entire episode below:

Per our previous report back on February 10, the game had not received an official release date because AEW was unable to acquire a Teen rating from the ESRB.

In the ratings summary from the ESRB, it is noted the game contains some mildly suggestive material with female wrestlers in revealing outfits (e.g., deep cleavage, bunny outfits, partially exposed buttocks); wrestlers performing taunting gestures (e.g., crotch chop, slapping buttocks). Real footage sometimes depicts wrestlers drinking alcohol and smoking. The word “s–t” is also heard in the game.

The game, which still does not have an official release date, will be available on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series. However, it is available for pre-order at the THQ Nordic Website.
