Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic returning this year
The return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament was revealed at last night’s NXT TV tapings in Atlanta, Georgia at Center Stage.
The tournament, which was not held last year, is scheduled to begin at the second tapings tonight in Atlanta. Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler are the first official team involved.
Finn Balor and Samoa Joe won the inaugural tournament back in 2015, while The Authors of Pain won the tournament in 2016. The tournament was created to honor the late “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, who was heavily involved with NXT before his passing.
TJ Wilson on any issues with Samoa Joe
TJ Wilson (Tyson Kidd), who now works in a producer role for WWE, took to Twitter to address any animosity with Samoa Joe after his career-ending injury.
For those unaware, Wilson severed a severe neck injury after taking Joe’s Muscle Buster finisher during a match taped before Monday Night RAW back in 2015.
I have zero animosity with Samoa Joe. I found him my first day back at WWE after my injury and we had a very good heart to heart. I wish him nothing but the best https://t.co/LpVSnGeoYQ
