“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.
Footage is shown from last night’s epic Royal Rumble. Asuka won the first ever Women’s Royal Rumble and was about to choose which champion she’d face when she was interrupted by “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey! They show clips of her debut interspersed with media about Rousey’s debut.
Stephanie McMahon kicks off Monday Night RAW
RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the ring to a cool reception. Michael Cole calls her a trailblazer in the Women’s Evolution. Jonathan Coachman is at commentary. They thank Booker T for doing a great job “filling in.” McMahon welcomes everyone to Monday Night RAW, which gets a good pop. It’s been an historic week for WWE. Last Monday, they celebrated 25 years of Monday Night RAW. Tonight right here in Philly, we’ll kick off 25 more. Last night, we saw the first ever all-Women’s Royal Rumble. Sasha Banks lasted nearly an hour. Nia Jax showed that she is an irresistible force. Naomi showed off great athleticism. We saw Hall of Famers like Lita, Miss Jacqueline, Beth Phoenix, and Trish Stratus. Then the game changed when we had the surprise debut of WWE’s newest star, former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey. Tonight is about the winner of that historic Royal Rumble match. She defeated 29 of the world’s best female competitors. This woman is undefeated in WWE. Stephanie welcomes Asuka to the ring.
Asuka makes her entrance to the ring to a great reception. She points at the WrestleMania sign. McMahon congratulates her on her historic victory last night. McMahon says before she makes her decision on who she wants to face, she should wait. Alexa Bliss may not be champion at WrestleMania. Alexa Bliss will be defending her RAW Women’s Championship in the first-ever all-Women’s Elimination Chamber match! Asuka says, “Arigato WWE Universe!” Asuka speaks in her native tongue before saying, “At WrestleMania, I will become champion because no one is ready for Asuka!”
Sasha Banks’ music hits, and she gets in the ring. Banks says she has to get some things off her chest. Last night was a dream come true. She shared a ring with 29 incredible women, including Asuka. Banks congratulates her on her victory and going to WrestleMania. For the past two years, Asuka has been undefeated and saying no one is ready for her. Banks says she proved last night that she can go the distance. Banks says she’s ready for Asuka… TONIGHT! They go head-to-head. Stephanie books the match and pulls them apart.
Good and newsworthy opener for #RAW. We're getting the first-ever all-women's Elimination Chamber with the #RAW Women's Championship on the line in four weeks. Tonight, we're getting Asuka vs. Sasha Banks. Not much follow-up on Ronda Rousey yet.

Crowd was very good to Asuka, who cut most of her promo in Japanese. She's got a ton of great charisma. #RAW

The commentators talk about Shinsuke Nakamura winning the men’s Royal Rumble and choosing to face AJ Styles for the WWE Championship. There is still a question of who will face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. That will be partly determined tonight. There will be an Elimination Chamber match to determine the #1 Contender in four weeks. Tonight, it’ll be Braun Strowman taking on Kane in a Last Man Standing Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match. We’ll also see Matt Hardy (they called him “Broken”) taking on Elias in another qualifier, as well as John Cena and Finn Balor. They’re updated all the graphics for RAW tonight.
Braun Strowman makes his entrance and immediately goes down to the ring and starts pulling out tables and chairs. The Last Man Standing Match is next!

Last Man Standing Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Braun Strowman vs. Kane
We join this match in progress to see Kane send Strowman into the ring post before hitting him with a kendo stick. They immediately begin brawling in the crowd. Strowman takes control back with a few strikes before slamming his head off a barricade. Strowman drags him over to the tech area and bounces his head off the table before cracking him in the back with a chair. Strowman slams his head off a barricade and runs a heavy crate into his head. The commentators scatter because they’re right in front of the table now. Strowman drives the chair into Kane’s midsection and looks at the table. A “YES” chant breaks out. Strowman then lifts the platform the table is on and dumps it on top of Kane! The referee counts Kane down and declares Strowman the winner!
Winner: Braun Strowman
Strowman leaves once his name is announced. Agents and referees run out to assist Kane. They scream to get the paramedics out here. Strowman then comes back out to a big reception. Corey Graves has a microphone and says Kane is a human being before asking what he just did. Strowman says he did his job. Kurt Angle said this is Last Man Standing, so that’s what he did! Strowman then looks psychotically at Kane’s limp body before pacing on stage.
Just, WOW. #RAW #LastManStanding @BraunStrowman @KaneWWE pic.twitter.com/fQ5W3bP9ov

Quick and to the point #LastManStanding match with Strowman and Kane. Kane hasn't looked good at really any point of his comeback in October, so I imagine this is the last we'll see of him for some time. Strowman continues to look dominant. #RAW

The commentators are standing on the stage with handheld microphones and are surveying the damage inflicted by Braun Strowman on their commentary table. We see replays of Strowman dumping the table and the platform onto Kane. Michael Cole says Kane is having trouble breathing.
We go backstage to see EMTs rushing Kane through the backstage area to get to an ambulance. Cole says Strowman has crossed the line again.
We go elsewhere backstage to see Braun Strowman storming through the backstage area. Kurt Angle runs up to him and asks how many times they have to have this conversation. Can Strowman give him a break? Strowman says Angle is right… that he didn’t do more. Angle said Last Man Standing, which is what he did. Strowman screams at Elimination Chamber, he’ll be the last man standing. At WrestleMania, he’ll be the last man standing over Brock Lesnar! Strowman angrily charges off.
Braun Strowman is wicked over. I'm not saying to not put Roman Reigns into the main event against Brock Lesnar (that's clearly the direction), but maybe make it a triple threat? #RAW

Elias is in the ring strumming his guitar. Elias says he doesn’t care if they sing with him or say his phrases. Elias sings for himself because he likes the sound of his voice. Last night, he was disappointed because he was eliminated by John Cena. Now he looks to the future because the Elimination Chamber is on the horizon. Elias has to face Matt Hardy to get there, but he’s got WrestleMania on his mind, so he wrote a song. Elias sings his song, but he’s soon cut off by “WOKEN” Matt Hardy.

Elias joins Braun Strowman in the Elimination Chamber to determine who will face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania.
Bray Wyatt’s video flashes again, and he’s shown laughing on the big screen. Hardy furiously looks at him before starting to laugh himself.
Pretty "eh" match with Elias and Matt Hardy. I think they need a new direction for #WOKEN Matt Hardy. It's not clicking for me. #RAW

The Miz is shown in a handheld video interview, which was started on Smackdown Live. Roman Reigns is apparently owed a rematch for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, but he’s owed complete silence when he speaks. When he defends his Intercontinental Championship, he’s owed a standing ovation, which is what Tom Brady will get when he crushes the Eagles. That gets a massive jeer from the crowd!

Winner and still WWE Intercontinental Champion: The Miz
The commentators wonder what this means for Reigns who has lost two Intercontinental Championship matches as well as the Royal Rumble.
Really great #ICTitle match with Roman Reigns and The Miz. Way better than their #RAW25 match, which I thought was very good. With all the nostalgia last night, I've been thinking about Miz' progression through the years and how far he's come. It's so impressive. #RAW #GoMiz

Rhyno then hits Dawson with a belly-to-belly side suplex. Slater then knocks Wilder out of the ring. Dawson hits a shot to the knee, and they hit Shatter Machine on Rhyno for the win.
Winners by Pinfall: The Revival
Charly Caruso gets in the ring. Scott Dawson says they just beat the first-ever Smackdown Tag Team Champions. Dawson asks her how they’d compare with The Graham Brothers. Caruso says she doesn’t know much wrestling history. Dash Wilder says she’s like the fans that just like chanting “ECW” to get themselves over. They study the past while the people can’t stop living in it.
Quick and easy win for The Revival. I hope the injury bug that bit them has gone away and that upper management hasn't lost faith in them. I think they could be a really great tag team and are more than just a pair of chumps to feed to the half century old DX guys. #RAW

Winner by Submission: Asuka
Tremendous match between Asuka and Sasha Banks. Banks, with the right opponent, can look great. However, she's a complete danger to herself when she tries anything fancy. She nearly killed herself (again) attempting a suicide dive. It has to be addressed and stopped. #RAW

Winners and still RAW Tag Team Champions: The Bar
Not much to The Bar/Titus Worldwide match. Apollo Crews looked good on offense until that brutal botch. I know they're on a time crunch, but Crews should have sold that a little bit. It was basically one of the most vicious powerbombs we've seen in a while. #RAW

Cena just smiles and says, “ok.” Balor goes for a waistlock, but Cena gets out and wrenches the arm. Cena takes him down and works the arm. Winner by Pinfall: John Cena
John Cena will join Braun Strowman and Elias in the Elimination Chamber match. The winner will face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania. There are three spots remaining. Cena celebrates on the ropes while Balor walks off holding his lower back.
That result will no doubt infuriate any number of wrestling fans. I personally don't have a problem with Cena winning the match tonight and going into the #EliminationChamber. I don't think this is the end for Balor. I think Angle will remove Strowman and replace with Finn. #RAW
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) January 30, 2018
It's fantasy booking at its best, but take Strowman out of the Elimination Chamber for being a danger protects him from losing to Reigns in the #EliminationChamber and opens the way for a triple threat at #WrestleMania. #RAW

Thanks for reading!
Well strowman was correct. He was the Last Man Standing. I love that the ref didnt even need to administer the 10 count. Adds to the Brauns dominance.
Good decision leaving Asuka’s choice a mystery for now. No reason to reveal it now when they can milk it for a bit longer.
The more feats of strength they do with Braun the more I like it.
I keep missing who they said flipped over the table. Can someone update me please?
From reading the results, it seems Stephanie forgot to mention Molly Holly. Also is Coachman now doing full time commentary?
im confused is wwe going with cena vs undertaker or cena vs elias at wrestlemania
I don’t care what Michael Cole says. John Cena is NOT the greatest of all time.
Apparently John Cena a part time wrestler is better than Finn Balor which is incorrect
You’re right.
Elias sucks ! He need to deserve these opportunities after a long time.! But WWE is boosting him for Cena Vs Elias at Wrestlemania 34 which sucks !! Very Worst Story line !!
I think they brought the Balor Club together to feud with The Shield when Ambrose returns but 50 50 booking for the tag team and having Balor lose every other match will not be a good way to make that feud feel special when it happens Cena won this time and if they pull Strowman out and put Balor in that just means he’ll not only lose to Cena but he’ll also lose again at Elimination Chamber I’m not Balor’s biggest fan either but just like when Mike agreed with the Revival talking about them focusing on the past that’s how i feel with this whole thing and if Reigns wins and Vince is adamant to make Brock vs Reigns 2 at WM instead of adding Strowman who is way over then it’s WWE itself that is stuck in the past
So Finn jobbed out (again) tonight and this time to Cena. Now I’ve already seen the “They can still get Balor in the Chamber so this…” That’s besides the point. The Balor Club need momentum. You need to present this group as something that can be a threat to the other top acts. Blaor has been treading water for months. He needed this win. Hell Cena can afford to take the loss and be the guy that gets in on some last chance or to replace someone else option.
Even if Balor does get in the EC why should we care? We have been shown he can’t win. And don’t go “He lasted so long in the Rumble.” Guess what that is at best a start not some big sign he’s a true top guy.
Is this not the stuff WCW always got ripped for. Never letting the fresher talent get the big wins over the main eventers and thus getting built up
Nakamura just went over last night in the Rumble eliminating both Cena & Roman in the process. Not to mention Asuka went over last night too. Both fresh new talents who haven’t been on the main roster for even a year yet. It’s not even close to what WCW was doing
Why not???
Except those were the two worse options to win the Rumble. Also you are saying it only has to be 1 new male star? They can’t build up two?
Better Raw than normal. Did Sasha and Asuka seem pretty stiff for a WWE match? Only downer was Cena/Balor. Only Cena can make a Finn Balor match suck.
it’s an opinion. There’s no way to decide who the actual best of all time is. Cena is one of many that deserve that title.
Howard Finkel… duh
I don’t know why no one including an experienced campaigner like Mike Tedesco is failing to understand that WWE is passing the torch from Lesnar to Braun Strowman at WM, not Roman Reigns. It looks evident that Braun is not done with Brock, so he will win the EC, head to WM 1-on-1 against Lesnar to beat him for title. Currently there can be no comparison between Strowman and Balor, & you are talking about Balor taking Strowman’s spot at EC to make it more interesting! ARE YOU INSANE? On the other hand, you think Reigns after getting the highest boo from crowd at the moment, and after being engaged with IC title & finally after ‘losing’ an affair against Miz, will look to suddenly challenge Brock at WM! YOU NEED SOME SLEEP. Personally although I believe Balor should’ve been at EC. So, progressing Cena at ‘Balor’s expense’ was surprising to me. No idea for what happens with Roman next, but Balor may look to join The Club.
Previously once in one of my predictions here regarding Cena/Reigns rivalry, IT WAS DELETED AS SPAM. I don’t know who reported that, but later on, I only came to find out that was actually the original plan WWE had. So, will not be surprised if I see my other comment here is shown as spam tomorrow.
I don’t believe that to be Cole’s true opinion. I think he was saying what Vince yelled at him to say.
Because John Cena is a creation of a machine. Unlike someone like Ric Flair or Arn Anderson or Harley Race or Gorgeous George who had to do at least 90% of the work to make themselves great because they didn’t have global machine backing them. All Cena has had for most of the last 15 years is show up and he was pretty much guaranteed to win matches and championships all becuse the head of the global machine likes the way Cena looks.
It’s too bad I can’t see him
