Some news and notes coming out of the Impact TV Tapings on Saturday in Orlando.
* EC3 (Ethan Carter III) has now finished all of his contract commitments with Impact Wrestling and is now gone from the company. This was expected for some time. You can find out how he was written off in our spoiler report.
* The upcoming April PPV will not be titled Lockdown. The event will instead be called Redemption and take place on April 22. The new Impact executive team was reportedly against the idea of holding an all-steel cage event.
* Former manager James Mitchell made his return at the tapings.
* The Impact Grand Championship has been officially dropped as a title going forward.
* Jerry Lynn was brought in as a backstage agent.
* Eddie Edwards suffered an injury to his head in a segment filmed with Sami Callihan. According to live reports, Callihan put a steel chair over the head of Edwards and hit it with a bat. The bat slipped and caught Edwards right on the head. Edwards was reportedly bleeding very badly backstage and was rushed to a hospital. He tweeted that he’s okay.
