The NXT intro brings us to a packed crowd at Full Sail, as commentary hypes up Aleister Black taking on Adam Cole later tonight to see who advances to the Fatal 4-Way Contendership Match. Back at ringside, Andrade “Cien” Almas makes his way to the ring with Zelina Vega for the opening match of the night. Fabian Aichner makes his way to the ring next, and the bell rings to get this match underway.
Non-Title Match
NXT Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Fabian Aichner
Almas charges at Fabian from the jump, hitting a dropkick on the former Cruiserweight Classic competitor. He briefly gloats, charging at Fabian again…but Fabian hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on the champ! Almas rolls out of the ring, but Fabian runs the ropes and leaps off the top rope, crashing onto the champ as they both hit the steel ramp! Fabian gets the champ back in the ring, and hops onto the top rope to hit a tornado DDT that gets Fabian a close nearfall! Almas is in the corner, but a quick distraction helps him catch Fabian by surprise. Almas whips Fabian against the ropes, but a leapfrog attempt gets caught by Fabian, who then hits a hard powerbomb for another nearfall! Fabian climbs up top but Vega distracts him, allowing Almas to toss Fabian to the floor. Whip to the stairs sends Fabian reeling, allowing the champ to get him in the ring for a Hammerlock DDT and the win!
Winner via pinfall: Andrade “Cien” Almas
Wow, what an explosive opener to the show this week! I was surprised to see Fabian get that much offense in against the champ, but dude's been really good when I've seen him lately. Giving the champ a (brief) run for his money is a big deal here. #WWENXT

That said, Almas catching Fabian by surprise for the win gives the vibe of wily veteran outsmarting his opponent, which sets a good tone for his run as champion. It'll be fun to see who chases him for the title! #WWENXT

Almas celebrates with Vega in the ring as we get replays from the match, and the champ and his associate head up the ramp as commentary hypes Aleister Black taking on Adam Cole later tonight.

– AD: AJ Styles vs Jinder Mahal at Clash of Champions, this Sunday on the WWE Network –
BONUS: I took a quick break from the Network feed to scope out the video package they did on Ember Moon for the USA Network broadcast…and I'm glad I did. Seeing her path to the title has helped me warm up to her again, and I can't wait to see who challenges her next! #WWENXT

Back from break, we find SAnitY hanging out somewhere ominous as Eric Young talks about scars, restless nights, and unfinished business. War Games was as beautiful as we thought it would be…the result wasn’t ideal, but we have not left the battlefield. Next week, we will finish what we started in Houston.
Commentary hypes the NXT Tag Team Championship match between SAnitY and Undisputed ERA next week as we go back to ringside, where Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch make their way to the ring for the next match. Out next are the Authors of Pain, accompanied by Paul Ellering as they head to the ring before this match gets underway!
Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan vs. The Authors of Pain
Akam charges Burch into the corner, and Burch tries to fight back with European uppercuts to no avail. Tag to Lorcan who goes after Akam, and Rezar rushes in, leading to chaos as Lorcan and Burch start to build some momentum hitting AOP in opposite corners…only for them to get caught by AOP! Death Valley Driver into the corners by AOP, followed by Super Collider and a Last Chapter on Lorcan leads to the Authors of Pain picking up a quick win!
Winners via pinfall: The Authors of Pain
That tag match sure happened, alright. Kudos to Lorcan and Burch giving it a shot, but this was definitely meant to get AOP back in the swing of things after War Games #WWENXT

AOP celebrate in the ring as we get a replay from the match. Commentary hypes them up, as well as Ember Moon taking on Peyton Royce in a non-title match…and that is coming up next!
– VIDEO PACKAGE: Pete Dunn vs Tyler Bate for the WWE United Kingdom Championship, next week on NXT! –
Back from break, NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon makes her way to the ring for the next match. Peyton Royce is accompanied by Billie Kay as she makes her way out next, and the bell rings to get this match underway!
Non-Title Match
NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon vs. Peyton Royce
Both women lock up, and Peyton hits a knee right to the midsection as she gets the advantage. Ember fights back, hitting a spinning heel kick and landing a head scissors takedown that sends Royce out of the ring. Ember climbs up top, diving onto both Royce and Kay! The champ brings Royce back into the ring, but is stopped by Kay which gives Royce a chance to lock Ember up in the Tarantula as we go to break.

Back from break, Royce is still in control before Ember takes her down, hitting a spinning back kick and an enziguri for a nearfall. Ember picks Royce up, but Royce rolls her up for a nearfall. Double underhook by Ember, but Royce gets out and hits a back elbow, forearm, and back kick for a nearfall. Royce goes for her fisherman suplex but Ember blocks it, only to be taken to the corner by Royce who hits right hands on the back of the champ. Ember gets out and takes Royce to the corner for a running Liger Bomb, which is blocked by Royce. Ember responds by kicking her down and hitting a big stomp on the back of Royce. Ember climbs up top, hitting the Eclipse for the win!
Winner via pinfall: Ember Moon
Ember celebrates as we get replays of the match, but Kay runs into the ring hitting Shades of Kay on the champ! She continues the beatdown, getting Royce to help as they drive the face of Ember to the knee of Kay! Before they can do more damage, Nikki Cross runs in to make the save. Cross acts crazy before setting her eyes on the Women’s Championship, and then the champ. Cross stares at the title again before running the ropes, leaving us with the champ holding her title as we go to footage from last week as Street Profits begin their own show, Street Talk, having a chat with the NXT Universe.
Good match between Ember and Peyton. Not gonna lie, I'm not sure why this wasn't on USA Network…maybe they needed more room for commercials? #WWENXT

Loved the post-match shenanigans, too. Between the Iconic Duo beatdown on the champ and Cross showing her disdain for them while keeping her eye on the title scene, this was a great way to re-establish contenders. #WWENXT

– VIDEO PACKAGE: Adam Cole, BAYBAY –
Up next, Aleister Black faces Adam Cole in our main event, with the rest of Undisputed ERA banned from ringside!
– AD: WWE Shop –
– VIDEO: Shayna Baszler is coming to NXT (WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT, I GOT ONE RIGHT FOR A CHANGE)
I still laugh at the fact people thought the tease from last week was anyone BUT Shayna Baszler, but don't let that fool you…I'm actually really excited to see her in NXT soon. Based on her performance in the #MaeYoungClassic I think she's gonna do great things here. #WWENXT
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) December 14, 2017
Back from break, commentary hypes Shayna coming to NXT as well as next week’s NXT Tag Team Championship match as SAnitY defend against Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish of Undisputed ERA. Speaking of, they accompany Adam Cole to the stage for this main event…but Adam assures them he’s got this, and they comply with Regal’s ruling and walk off to the back as Adam heads to the ring. Out next is Aleister Black, who makes his way to the ring leaping into a seated position. The bell rings, getting this main event underway!
Main Event: No. 1 Contender Qualifier
Adam Cole (BAYBAY) vs. Aleister Black
After some hesitation, both men lock up and Black immediately wrenching the arm of Cole who counters, but is countered by Cole who escapes and yells out “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!” They lock up again, and Cole gets the upper hand with a snap mare before leading the crowd in his taunt again. Another lockup and this time, Black slams Cole down to the canvas. Black with a knee and a flurry of strikes that sends Cole out of the ring as Black takes a seat in the middle of the ring.

Back from break, Cole is in control with an armbar into a crossface. Black struggles in the lock, inching his way to the ropes to break the hold. Cole yells at Black as he continues the attack, leading to one more “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY” before Black gets to his feet, hitting some hard strikes on Cole. He follows up with a rolling kick and a kip up, charging at Cole with a hard forearm and a springboard attack to take Cole down. Cole slows things down before catching Black on the top rope, climbing up and leaping right into a hard kick by Black, who picks up a nearfall in the process. Black setting Cole up, but Cole catches him with an enziguri and a backstabber…but only a nearfall! Cole gets Black on his shoulders, but Black escapes and both men exchange blows. Cole with a couple hard kicks but Black rolls him up for a nearfall. Cole responds with a backbreaker for a nearfall of his own! Cole heads to the corner, looking for a super kick…but Black catches him with a bicycle knee strike! He sets Cole up, Cole yelling “What do you got?” before Black answers him with a Black Mass kick for the win!
Winner via pinfall: Aleister Black
What a great, great main event between Black and Cole tonight. Cole trying to play mind games with Black, who wanted nothing to do with that as he answer's Cole's question of "What you got?" with the Black Mass for the win! #WWENXT
— Wrestleview.com (@wrestleview) December 14, 2017
Black sits in the ring as we get replays of the match. Commentary hypes Black joining the ranks of Dain and Gargano in the Fatal 4-Way, as well as the United Kingdom and NXT Tag Team Championship matches set for next week. We go back to the ring, where Aleister Black stands tall as the show comes to a close.
Overall, a really good episode of #WWENXT this week! I managed to catch about half of the USA Network broadcast, so I'm very curious what people thought of the presentation there…but we definitely got some fun matches and angles building toward Takeover: Philly!
