Pro’s from the Palace (#327)

I watched a good portion of Impact from this past week, and I have to make some comments about it. It appears to be the show with the most going on right now, out of anything, so let’s discuss it in a little more depth.

The Loss of the King of the Mountain
Obviously, unless you’ve been under a rock, you know abou the Jeff Jarrett situation, and it was predominantly displayed this past week, even without uttering one word. Bobby Lashley is not Jeff Jarrett, and I don’t give a damn what anyone says, until I see differently, TNA’s main storyline has gone to shit because the absolute prime protagonist in this war has been Jeff Jarrett, and to suddenly remove him from the equation without so much as an explanation is not only stupid, shows a lack of creativity and continuity, but it hurts and damages the storyline immensely. Now perhaps Tenay and West did make some mention of it before I came down to watch it, remember I did miss the first 30 minutes, so I can’t say this with convinction, much.

WWE 2.0
Ok. Mick Foley. Taz. Rhino. Bobby Lashley. Tara. Kennedy, more than likely, Umaga, more than likely. What is TNA trying to do? Supress every single person that has been with this company from the start?? I can’t believe, with my heart of hearts, that guys like Eric Young, Daniels, James Storm, Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, even put Amazing Red in this group because he was around at the beginning, you can’t sit here and tell me that this unbelievable influx of high priced, low product talent has to be sitting well with the men who have built what’s left of this company from the ground up. I know that TNA has brought in other talent like Joe, like LAX, like the Guns, like Kaz, oops, I mean, Suicide, but when you read the spoilers of what the Guns are going to be pulling off over the next few weeks, you have to think that what they do isn’t part of the script, it’s a little bit of actual feelings inside the locker room.

Now, let’s do a little point counterpoint. I like Young taking a heel role as a faction leader. It gives him the chance to show what he truly is capable of, outside of being a Eugene rip off. I love Beer Money. The best from AMW and Team Canada unite, and provide one major league boost to the tag team division. You all know how much of a fan I am of AJ Styles, and to see him get decimated like he has in the last three times I’ve seen him on television has been an atrocity. He takes a Jackknife in 3 minutes in the tag match to Victory Road, gets beat after taking Nash to school for God knows how long, and then takes a piledriver from Young. Granted, the breaking of the ‘unwritten code’ of not using the piledriver really helps Young in taking the heat he has to the next level, and doing it to the prime babyface in TNA right now just triples the effect, but regardless, the treatment of the originals of this company has been dreadful, and it has to change. Men like Storm & Roode, men like Daniels & AJ, they deserve better.

And don’t sit here and tell me that Beer Money won 3 tag titles, and that they should be fine with it, because it’s not fine. Nobody who is an avid wrestling fan wants to see a 50 year old as a singles champion, and two men who are in the significant twilight of their careers as tag champions. Its just not a part of the gameplan to gather new fans to the product.

Name recognition of talent only goes so far, and then eventually, the meter runs out, and you have to look in a different direction. Look at Night of Champions. Ziggler getting a IC title shot, Legacy winning tag gold for the third time most likely, new blood is getting main event level shots. Where is that new blood in the TNA ranks?? Answer me??

Every title in TNA is owned by the Mafia
How much more is TNA going to shit on the X Division? I was a fan of the X Division from the inception, I love the Ultimate X, I love the athleticism of the guys like Shelley, Sabin, Daniels, Suicide, Homicide, and Styles. Now, though, with the Guns in limbo, Suicide on the outs after losing the titles, and Daniels and Styles apparently embroiled in this mafia thing, who’s left for the X division?? Nobody. I thought this was going to be TNA’s staple, their way of going away from the norm. It’s really gone away from the norm, just like the cruiserweights in WCW, and just like the hardcore style in ECW, it’s managed to drift its way in to the chasm that is called oblivion, and it’s sickening. I’m a huge Homicide fan, and I love to see him wearing gold, but it means so little to the company right now that it’s become an afther thought, and that’s just pathetic.

Keys on a Pole?
You set up this main event for control of the office, and not have a clean finish. So who’s in charge? Angle? Foley? Lashley? Rocco & Sally Boy? Me? You? Who? It’s not Jeff, we know that, and this whole thing was just absolutely shot in to the crapper when Foley even went and attacked EY after the announcement of the World Elite faction. Is this the type of main event that should be used on television leading up to their Hard core pay per view?? By the way, speaking of hardcore pay per views, whats the difference between Hard Justice and Lockdown outside of the cage? Answer, nothing. What’s the difference who’s got the keys to the TNA office?? Answer, nothing. The inmates are running the f*in’ asylum, and it’s turned in to a freak show instead of something entertaining.

nWo 2.0
A lot of people have said that the Mafia has all the characteristics of the nWo. I hate to say it, but after next week, and I won’t reveal what happens, but after next week, you can add my name to that list of people who believe this is a complete reprisal of the nWo, just without the black, white, and red, and instead with suits, ties, and various other international attires. It barely worked in WCW when the nWo splintered off, how the hell is going to work with these cornball desk jockeys in TNA?

Traci Brooks in the Mafia
It’s always good to see Traci in TNA, but the question is, how did she turn heel so fast to join the Mafia? And here’s another point. If they just had a match between Sharmell and Jenna Morasca to see who the only female is in the Mafia, why have another one join the group?? What’s the final total going to be? Half the freakin’ roster?? When does it stop?

LAX
Hernandez has an interview with Lauren, and Homicide comes in the X title, and the 187 and the Super Mex seem to have an argument that could lead to seedlings that LAX is breaking up. That, would be idiotic. I know what happens, and that’s not something I’m going to reveal, but it would’ve been nice to see Tenay and West do something about that interview when they came back from commercial, because it was newsworthy, and they just poo-pooed it like it wasn’t even part of the show.

I think there may be some promise for the company,. based on the spoilers, but I won’t go in to them now, for obvious reasons. Right now, I can safely say that I didn’t watch wrestling this morning. I watched a cornball cornacopia of garbage, which was mistakenly packaged in to a wrestling show.

Your thoughts?? Let me know.
