American Alpha, The Hype Bros, and Apollo Crews defeated The Ascension, The Vaudevillains, and Curt Hawkins on the WWE TLC Kickoff Show.

“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

A video kicks off the show that showcases the major matches on tonight’s card. Tonight, AJ Styles will defend his WWE World Championship against Dean Ambrose in a TLC Match. We’ll also see The Miz defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler in a Ladder Match, as well as Becky Lynch defending the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss in a Tables Match.

We go live into the arena to see a big pyrotechnics display. Mauro Ranallo, JBL, David Otunga, and Tom Philips welcome us to the show.

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships Match
Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno (c’s)

Bray Wyatt will start the match against Rhyno. They lock up, and Rhyno wrenches the arm. Wyatt fights him off and sends him into the ropes, but Rhyno takes him down with a clothesline. Wyatt quickly hits some throat thrusts and tags in Randy Orton. Orton stomps him and uppercuts him. Rhyno chops back at him until Orton sends him into the ropes. Rhyno ducks a clothesline and hits a shoulder tackle. Heath Slater is tagged in, and he comes off the top rope with a sledge to the arm. Slater punches away at Orton until Orton kicks him. Slater takes him down with a leg lariat and forearms him in the corner. Orton drops him onto the apron. Luke Harper gets on the apron to distract the referee, so Wyatt clips Slater’s knee. Orton gives Slater a front suplex on the top rope and stomps the injured midsection. Orton stomps the rest of his limbs and tags Wyatt in. Wyatt viciously forearms him in the back of the neck for a two count. Wyatt puts Slater in the corner and annihilates him with an avalanche for another two count. Wyatt throws Slater out of the ring and tags in Orton. Slater is desperately trying to regain his footing at ringside. Orton pulls him to the apron before trying for a draping DDT, but Slater fights out. Slater goes for a slingshot maneuver, but Orton counters into a powerslam for a near fall. Wyatt tags in and clubs him before sending him into the ropes, but Slater kicks him in the face. Slater boots him down and kicks Orton off the apron. Wyatt gives Slater a one-armed slam, but Rhyno tags in. Rhyno takes him down and uppercuts him before coming off the second rope with a diving shoulder. Orton pushes Wyatt out of the way of a Gore, so Rhyno knocks him off the apron. Rhyno goes to give Orton a Gore at ringside, but Harper pushes him out of the way and sacrifices himself. Orton tags himself in and gives Rhyno an RKO out of nowhere for the win. This is Bray Wyatt’s first title in his WWE career.

Winners and new WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions: Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton

Bray Wyatt puts his Tag Team Championship belt on the shoulder of Luke Harper. Randy Orton appears to have trepidations about doing the same, but eventually does. Wyatt then poses.

An advertisement is shown for WrestleMania 34.

Dean Ambrose is being interviewed backstage. Ambrose says that James Ellsworth is okay and resting at home. Ambrose is asked about his temper, so he mentions that he rolls with it. In a different setting, it might be an honor to share the ring with AJ Styles, but he likes to go for the easy way out. There is no “easy way” in the TLC Match. Ambrose likes it that way. Horrible pain and suffering equals glory. It’s gonna be hard times tonight.

AJ Styles is elsewhere backstage with Renee Young. Styles laughs at the “hard times” line. Styles says he knows exactly what these kinds of matches can do to the body. The problem with Ambrose wasn’t putting him down — it’s keeping him down. After some tables, ladders, and chairs, he’ll get up… just in time to see him holding his WWE World Championship.

No Disqualification Match
Nikki Bella vs. Carmella

Carmella is sporting a black eye from last week. Carmella gets out of the ring at the sound of the bell. Nikki follows her out, but Carmella knocks her down. Carmella gets her in the ring, but Nikki immediately spears her down. Nikki pulls her out of the ring and goes for a powerbomb, but Carmella fights her off and gives her a head-scissor into the steel steps. Carmella sends her into the barricade and goes for a count-out in a no disqualification match, but Nikki gets in the ring at six. Carmella stomps her and picks up a one count. Carmella gives her a suplex, and Nikki’s legs hit the ropes. Carmella taunts the crowd before covering for a two count. Carmella goes for another suplex into the ropes, but Nikki counters into an inside cradle for a two count. Carmella quickly pops up and clotheslines her down for a two count. Carmella comes back with a second clothesline, and Nikki’s injured leg hits the ropes again. Carmella picks up another two count. Carmella ties her up in the tree of woe and goes under the ring for a kendo stick. Carmella gets in the ring and taunts John Cena’s “You Can’t See Me” taunt before hitting her in the leg a few times with the stick. Carmella rolls her over for a one count. Carmella applies the Code of Silence, but Nikki uses the kendo stick to fight out of it. Carmella gets to her feet and takes Nikki down before picking up the stick. Nikki quickly kicks her down and picks up the stick. Carmella spears her into the barricade, but Nikki fights right by driving her into the apron. Nikki stands on the barricade and gives her a flying roundhouse kick. Nikki gets her in the ring and hits her three times with the kendo stick. Carmella quickly kicks her in the injured leg to stop her momentum. Carmella pulls her out of the ring and takes a few more moments to recover. They take their time before Carmella goes to grab her, but Nikki sprays a fire extinguisher in her face. Nikki gets in the ring and sprays her some more. Nikki then gives her Rack Attack 2.0 to pick up the victory.

Winner by Pinfall: Nikki Bella

Carmella gets on the microphone and says Nikki may think she’s evened the odds because of Survivor Series, but she didn’t. Carmella says she’s not the one who attacked Nikki that night, but she knows who did. It was her little friend from “Total Divas,” Natalya. Nikki doesn’t look pleased with that news and walks off disgusted.

Natalya, after just being revealed as the villain in this storyline, is shown helping a couple get engaged at Kay Jewelers in a commercial.

Video Package: The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler in a Ladder Match

Daniel Bryan is backstage being interviewed. Bryan is asked about wanting to see The Miz lose the title. Bryan says that is correct, but not for the reasons you would think. Dolph Ziggler is a quality human being and great in the ring. Despite The Miz’ arrogance, he does bring a certain star quality to the title. The Miz walks up and says Bryan finally admitted he doesn’t like him. Bryan says he never liked Miz. Miz says he never liked Bryan and wishes her was in the match so he can shove him off a 10-foot ladder. Bryan can enjoy watching him climb the ladder and retain his title. Miz walks off, and Bryan does not look happy.

WWE Intercontinental Championship – Ladder Match
Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz (c) w/ Maryse

The bell rings, and they stare at each other from across the ring. Miz points at his title hanging above the ring and talks trash. Miz goes for a clothesline, but Ziggler ducks and goes for a superkick. Miz avoids it, so Ziggler takes him down and punches away at him. Ziggler counters out of the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz catapults him over the top rope, but Ziggler lands on his feet and grabs a ladder from under the ring, but Miz baseball slides him down. Miz tries to send him into a ladder, but Ziggler blocks it and punches him down. Ziggler tries to send him into a ladder, but Miz blocks it. Ziggler goes for a swinging DDT on the aisle, but Miz throws him off and big boots him down. Miz picks up a ladder and tries to drop it on Ziggler, but he moves. Ziggler then sends Miz into a ladder set up on the aisle. Ziggler picks up a ladder and goes to put it in the ring, but Miz attacks him from behind. Miz picks up the ladder, waits for Ziggler to get up, and drives it into his midsection. Ziggler avoids a second shot and clotheslines him on the floor. Ziggler rakes Miz’ face on the ladder. The crowd is doing dueling chants for both men. Ziggler tries to sandwich Miz’ head in the ladder, but Miz escapes. Miz then gives him a drop-toe-hold on the ladder. Miz goes to bring the ladder into the ring, but Ziggler shoots the ladder into his face. Miz then quickly dropkicks the ladder into him. Miz takes some time to recover. They get into a tug of war with the ladder until Ziggler pulls him headfirst into the ring post. Miz is able to stop him from putting the ladder in the ring. The ladder is leaning against the apron. Miz goes to powerbomb him onto it, but Ziggler counters into a DDT on the ladder. Ziggler goes to the opposite side of the ring and puts the tallest ladder in the ring. Ziggler tries to set it up, but Miz dropkicks him in the spine. Miz sandwiches Ziggler in the corner with the ladder and dropkicks it into his ribs. Miz uses the ladder as a platform across the second rope. Miz puts Ziggler on the top rope and tries to give him a superplex, but Ziggler fights out. Miz hits the ladder face-first before hitting the mat. Ziggler stands on the ladder and leaps off the makeshift platform with an elbow drop.

Ziggler sends Miz headfirst into the ladder and goes outside the ring to retrieve yet another ladder. Ziggler sets it up and climbs up quickly, but Miz grabs his foot. Ziggler kicks him away and gets his fingers on the title, but Miz pulls him off the ladder. Ziggler immediately responds by clotheslining him down. Ziggler quickly throws him out of the ring and climbs the ladder. Ziggler appears ready to pull the title down, but Miz pushes the ladder over. Ziggler crashes and burns against the ropes. The near silent crowd is starting to make some noise. Ziggler gets up in the corner, so Miz throws a ladder against him. Miz mocks Daniel Bryan and starts doing some running dropkicks in the corner until Ziggler throws the ladder into Miz’ face. Ziggler takes a few moments before setting up a ladder and slowly climbing up. Miz climbs up on the other side and punches Ziggler. Miz puts his hands on the title, but Ziggler punches him. Ziggler knocks him off the ladder, and the crowd is awake now. Miz quickly ties up his leg in the ladder and wrenches it. Miz then dumps him off the ladder. Miz blocks a superkick and mistimes a shot into the ladder. Miz quickly comes back by dropping him knee first on the ladder. Miz tries to drop the ladder on the injured limb, but Ziggler moves. Miz slams the knee off the ladder again before sandwiching it in the ladder. Miz then ties up his legs in the ladder and applies the Figure Four Leglock. Miz tries for a Skull Crushing Finale on the ladder, but Ziggler fights him off. Ziggler goes for a superkick, but his leg gives out. Miz then gives him a Skull Crushing Finale on the ladder! Miz sets up the ladder and climbs up. Miz grabs the title, but Ziggler takes the ladder out from under him. Miz is hanging from the rigging above the ring. Ziggler hits him with the ladder, and Miz falls to the mat, landing on his knees. Miz screams “Mother F—er” and rolls out of the ring in tremendous pain. Ziggler slowly sets up the ladder and begins to crawl up to the title. Miz hobbles into the ring, gets him in a powerbomb position, bounces him off the top rope, and powerbombs him onto the ladder bridged over the second turnbuckle! Miz hobbles around and sets up two ladders side-by-side. Ziggler gets on the opposite ladder. They meet at the top and punch it out for the title. Miz nearly knocks him off, but Ziggler fights back. Ziggler punches away at him before hitting some head-butts. A third head-butt sends Miz crashing to the mat. Ziggler is climbing in between the ladders, so Miz uses the opening to climb the ladder and kick him in the groin twice. Ziggler falls to the mat in pain. Miz then removes the Intercontinental Championship from the rigging to retain.

The Miz gets on the microphone and dedicates this win to Daniel Bryan. Miz talks about how he won in spite of Bryan’s hatred. Miz says he overcomes odds and calls everyone, especially Ziggler, a loser. Miz then hobbles off with his wife.

Next week on the USA Network will be the 14th annual WWE Tribute to the Troops episode.

Video Package: Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto in a Chairs Match

Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin

Kalisto immediately gets a few chairs in the ring after making his entrance. Kalisto is wearing wrestling trunks tonight. Corbin immediately blocks a chair shot and sets up a chair. Kalisto kicks him into a seated position on the chair and dropkicks him over to the floor. Kalisto jumps on the chair to the top rope and comes down on Corbin with a plancha. Corbin quickly gets in the ring and quickly knocks Kalisto off the apron. Corbin leans him against the barricade and forearms him in the back of the head a few times. Corbin viciously goes back and forth driving Kalisto’s ribs into the barricade and apron before sending him into an island of chairs set up at ringside. Corbin puts him in the ring and punches him. Corbin gets in the ring and picks up a one count. Corbin viciously whips him into the corner, and Kalisto collapses to the mat. Corbin wedges a chair in the corner. Kalisto punches away at him and hits the ropes, but Corbin slams him down for a two count. Corbin sets up two chairs and positions the seats to face each other. Corbin repeats this and has six chairs set up when all is said and done. Kalisto avoids an avalanche in the corner and gives him a drop-toe-hold into the chair wedged in the corner. Kalisto hits him with the chair and gives him a head-scissor DDT onto it. Kalisto then gives him a seated senton onto that collection of chairs in the center of the ring… for a near fall. Corbin rolls out of the ring to recover. Kalisto gets a head of steam and goes for a suicide dive, but Corbin catches him and gives him a Deep Six on the floor! Corbin gets Kalisto in the ring and picks up a near fall. Corbin is furious and punches away at him. Corbin takes a few chairs and puts them in a pile in the middle of the ring. Corbin goes outside and swings a chair at Kalisto, but he moves. Kalisto avoids four more chair shots and kicks away at Corbin. Kalisto gets on the barricade and runs off with a hurricanrana. Kalisto throws a chair into Corbin’s face and dropkicks him into the barricade. Corbin slowly gets into the ring. Kalisto connects with a springboard leg drop. Kalisto lays a chair down on Corbin’s chest. Kalisto goes to the top rope and hits a moonsault on Corbin and the chair for a near fall! Kalisto picks up a chair and cracks it off Corbin’s back a few times. Kalisto puts some more chairs into the pile previously set up. Corbin fights off Salida del Sol, but Kalisto knocks him back. Kalisto goes to the top rope and leaps off, but Corbin swats him out of the air with a chair! Corbin then gives him the End of Days into the pile of chairs for the win.

After the match, Corbin walks up to the English commentary table and rips the top off. Corbin screams that this is what will happen to anyone that gets in his way. Corbin then walks off.

Natalya is backstage with one of the new interviewers. She asks Natalya about Carmella’s statement about attacking Nikki Bella. Natalya dodges the statement and wishes Becky Lynch luck. Natalya says Becky represents the Women’s Division so well. As far as Carmella’s accusation, it’s absurd. The interviewer asks why Carmella would lie and Natalya says, “I don’t know… because she’s a liar.” Natalya then walks off.

Brock Lesnar and Goldberg are the first two men announced for the Royal Rumble match. This takes place on January 29.

The bell rings, and Lynch quickly powers her into the corner before punching her down. Lynch forearms her in the face and leaves the ring to retrieve a table from under the ring. Bliss quickly hits her with a wrecking ball dropkick and sends her into the barricade. Bliss puts the table back under the ring. Lynch clotheslines her down at ringside and throws her into the barricade. Lynch kicks her in the midsection and goes for a powerbomb, but Bliss fights off and gets on the apron. Bliss kicks her in the head, but Lynch soon sweeps the legs on the apron. Lynch gets in the ring and hits the ropes before countering a leapfrog into a slam. Lynch hits a snap suplex and goes under the ring to get the table out. Lynch sets up the table at ringside. Lynch gets on the apron and dodges an attack from Bliss. Lynch tries to suplex her out of the ring through the table at ringside, but Bliss fights her off. Bliss nearly knocks her off the apron, but Lynch recovers. Bliss attacks her in the corner and whips her hard into it. Lynch comes back by her onto the apron. Bliss is nearly sent through the table, but she holds on. Lynch gets on the top rope, but Bliss bites her hand. Bliss gets in the corner and attacks her against the ropes. Bliss stands on her back and kicks her in the back of the head a few times. Bliss goes under the ring and gets another table out. Bliss starts setting it up when she sidesteps Lynch. Bliss then sends her into the steps. Bliss puts the table in the ring and bounces Lynch off the apron twice. Bliss puts her in the ring. Bliss sets up the table and places it angled to the corner turnbuckle. Lynch tries to fight back, but Bliss quickly clubs her down. Bliss bounces her off the table and lays her across it. Bliss goes to the top rope, but Lynch gets off the table and crotches her on the top rope. Lynch goes for a superplex, but Bliss fights her off. Lynch knocks over the table before Bliss kicks her down. Lynch tries to slam her on the edge of the table, but Bliss fights off and takes her down. Bliss then leans the table against the corner. Lynch uppercuts her a few times and clotheslines her twice before hitting a leg lariat. Bliss avoids a running forearm, but Lynch kicks her. Bliss blocks an exploder suplex into the table and takes her down. Bliss hits double knees to the midsection before doing a back flip double knees attack. Bliss knocks the table over and punches away at Lynch. Bliss sets the table back up. Lynch punches away at her and gets her on her shoulders. Bliss knocks over the table, gets off her shoulders, and gives her a DDT onto the overturned table. Bliss starts collapsing the table legs until Lynch applies the Dis-Arm-Her while her arm is through a table leg. Lynch soon releases it and slams her down. Lynch sets the table up across the bottom turnbuckle and lays Bliss out on it. Lynch goes to the top rope, but Bliss attacks her. Bliss slams her off the top rope and dropkicks her down. Bliss tries to send her into the corner, but Lynch counters by slamming her face off the table. Lynch tries to baseball slide her off the apron into the table, but Bliss avoids it. They punch away at each other on the apron before Bliss falls to the floor. Bliss then pulls her off the apron and powerbombs her through the table on the floor to win the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship!

Winner and new WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion: Alexa Bliss

The new interviewer tries to interview Becky Lynch at ringside, but Lynch doesn’t want to be interviewed right now. Lynch mentions that she let herself down and walks off.

An advertisement for Kay Jewelers airs before we see a preview of WWE 205 Live.

The commentators talk about John Cena hosting Saturday Night Live this week.

Video Package: AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose – TLC Match

The bell rings, and Ambrose quickly takes him down before punching away at him. Ambrose chops him against the ropes before sending him into the ropes for a back body drop. Ambrose throws a chair into the ring and puts a ladder on the apron. Styles picks up the chair and smacks it into the ladder, which in turn goes into Ambrose. Styles sets up the ladder and tries to climb, but Ambrose immediately rips him off. They each try to climb to no avail. Styles chops the chest and runs under the ladder. Styles hits the ropes, but Ambrose slams it into Styles’ head. Ambrose then clotheslines him out of the ring. They fight up the aisle before Ambrose throws him over a table and onto some chairs. Ambrose slams his face off a chair before giving him a suplex on the floor! Ambrose puts him on a table and climbs one of the prop ladders, which looks to be over twenty-feet tall. Styles runs away, but Ambrose catches up and clotheslines him in the back of the head. Ambrose puts a garbage can over his head and punches him. They fight into the crowd until Ambrose throws him over the barricade. Ambrose stands on top of the barricade and leaps off, but Styles dropkicks him out of mid-air. Styles avalanches him against the barricade. Styles tries for it again, but Ambrose drops him crotch-first onto the barricade. Ambrose grabs a chair and charges Styles before smacking the chair off him. Ambrose gets in the ring and sets the ladder up. Ambrose climbs, but Styles quickly scurries into the ring to knock him off into the ropes. Styles tips the ladder over onto Ambrose’s arm. Styles throws the ladder into Ambrose and taunts the crowd. Styles then gives him a scoop slam onto the ladder. Styles connects with a knee drop, and the crowd starts chanting for him. Styles leans the ladder against the ropes and goes to suplex Ambrose onto it. Ambrose fights it off and counters by giving him a catapult into the ladder. Styles then falls out of the ring. Ambrose picks up the ladder and throws it out of the ring and into Styles. Ambrose puts a table into the ring and starts to set it up, but Styles gets in the ring with a chair and smacks it off his back. Styles jabs it into his ribcage before cracking it off Ambrose’s back a second time. Styles sets the chair up and gives him a sidewalk slam through the chair! Styles viciously forearms him in the face and kicks him before picking up the chair again to crack it off his back. Styles goes under the ring and throws some chairs into the ring. Styles sets four up end to end much like Baron Corbin did earlier. Ambrose blocks a suplex and gives him a front suplex powerbomb through the chairs! Wow!

Ambrose scoops him up with the chair and slams him down. Ambrose climbs the ropes with a chair and comes off with an elbow drop! Ambrose sets up a chair leg and sends Styles through it. Ambrose then takes that table and leans it against the corner. Styles comes back with a combination, counters Ambrose’s counter, and gives him a suplex through the table. Styles gets to his feet and pushes Ambrose a few times. Styles dropkicks him into the ropes, but Ambrose comes back with a rebound clothesline that turns him inside out. Styles’ tights are ripped in a very unflattering position on his backside. Ambrose goes to suplex Styles through the tables at ringside, but he’s unable to. Ambrose counters a Phenomenal Forearm attempt into a Dirty Deeds attempt, but Styles gets out. Ambrose then sends him over the top rope. Ambrose wipes him out with a suicide dive and removes the tops from all three commentary tables. Ambrose lays him on the middle table and sets a ladder up on the commentary table next to it. Ambrose punches away at Styles and goes to the top of the ladder on top of the table. Ambrose then comes off with an elbow drop through the table! The crowd starts up a “This is awesome” chant. Ambrose goes under the ring and pulls out another ladder. Ambrose puts it in the ring and sets it up underneath the WWE World Championship, the ultimate prize in this match. Ambrose slowly starts to climb the ladder, but Styles somehow gets onto the apron. Styles then gives him a Phenomenal Forearm off the ladder. After a few moments to recover, both men start to climb the ladder on opposite ends. They start punching each other when the reach the top. Both wind up falling to the mat in a heap. Styles quickly counters Dirty Deeds into a Styles Clash attempt, but Ambrose gets him up in position for an Alabama Slam and swings his head into the ladder. Ambrose slowly starts to climb the ladder, but Styles pulls him down in position for a powerbomb. Ambrose counters by giving him a hurricanrana over the top rope. They fight at ringside before Styles gets on the apron and connects with a moonsault into a reverse DDT on the floor! Styles lays him on a table, gets in the ring, and hits a springboard 450 splash off the top rope and through Ambrose and the table at ringside! The crowd is going crazy for this.

Styles gets in the ring and sets up a ladder. James Ellsworth now makes his way down the aisle in a neck brace. Styles angrily gets out of the ring and knocks him down. Styles kicks the top half of the steps off and goes to give him that nasty Styles Clash a second time, but Ambrose attacks. Ambrose then DDTs him on the steps! Ambrose gets in the ring and sets up the ladder. Styles gets in the ring and climbs up, but Ambrose knocks him to the mat and out of the ring! Ambrose has the title won… but Ellsworth knocks the ladder over and Ambrose flies out of the ring and through two tables at ringside! Styles gets in the ring and sets the ladder up. Ellsworth is rooting Styles on from ringside. Styles climbs the ladder and removes the WWE World Championship from the rigging to retain the title! James Ellsworth is very pleased with the result.
