AJ Styles on WWE splitting up The Club
Brian Fritz of Sporting News passed along this interview with AJ Styles where he talks about WWE’s decision to split up The Club in the recent WWE Draft.
“I think it’s an opportunity for them to do something special and an opportunity for me. Who knows what the reasoning is for the draft and going separate ways that we did, but we’re going to make the best of it. It was shocking because I didn’t see that coming. It literally came out of nowhere. But everything happens for a reason. I’m not sad about it. They’re going to do their thing, I’m going to do mine and we’ll met up later.”
Edge talks acting with Lana
Ted Gruber of Fansided.com is featuring an interview with former WWE star Adam “Edge” Copeland talking about acting with WWE star Lana in the new “Interrogation” movie.
“Working with Lana was enjoyable. I actually met her once before at a Raw taping. We were there and we met the new crop coming up to the main roster at the time. By the time she came onto the set, she had only 5 days to work. So they crammed all her scenes into those days. It was pretty intense seeing that as she did her scenes and then went back on the road with the company.”
Cody Rhodes on perceptions of indy scene
Donald Wood of Ring Rust Radio passed along an interview with former WWE star Cody Rhodes where he talks about his perceptions of the independent wrestling scene during his time with WWE for the last 10 years.
“I don’t think my perception of the independent scene has changed in the past few months at all. If anything, it changed over the last two years because of the boom that was NXT. In NXT, you can dress it up however you want, but it’s still an independent show. It is the top stars who are free agents from various independent promotions and there’s some equity in them already. The crowd is aware of them and knows some of their tricks and shtick. I think in the last two years, many in the WWE community were all made to take notice. There are guys that make you take notice especially with social media. You can’t pretend certain entities and elements don’t exist when they are out there and hot as can be.”
