TNA Impact Wrestling Results – 3/15/16 (The Era of Galloway)

 

 

Impact LIVE opens up with highlights from the last few weeks focusing on nearly every feud and title match over the last month or two. 

 

Jeff Hardy’s music hits and we will start with Jeffrey in the ring! Eric Young is shown screaming Dixie Carter’s name. He finds her and screams at her and asks her “if she likes this?!” He says that he will hurt Jeff Hardy tonight and she will have to live with it. He says she will remember this night forever and he is still screaming about it as he walks through the tunnel. 

 

 

Jeff sidesteps EY as he goes right after EY and Jeff connects with a clothesline followed by an Atomic Drop and then a Leg Drop to the balls for a quick nearfall. Jeff quickly goes for the Twist of Fate but EY escapes it and retreats to the floor. Jeff follows EY out and slams him into the apron. Dixie Carter walks out and says that she has been sitting in the back thinking about what EY was just screaming about. Dixie says that EY blames everyone else for everything and this is his chance to finish things with Jeff after what he did with Jeff two months ago. She says that whoever wins this match will be added to the World Title Match tonight in the Main Event! Jeff immediately jumps on EY with even more intensity and slams him into the ring steps. Jeff rolls EY back into the ring and slams him into the turnbuckles. Jeff covers EY and gets another nearfall but EY rakes his eyes and starts to beat Jeff down in the corner. EY attempts to whip Jeff into the corner but Jeff reverses it and as EY flips over the top rope Jeff lays him out with a clothesline! EY gets back up on the apron and catches a charging Jeff with a shoulder block through the ropes followed by a clothesline. EY whips Jeff into the ropes and then charges at him but Jeff gets his boots up and then hits a dropkick sending EY back to the floor. Jeff hits a Slingshot Dropkick through the ropes and then goes for a Slingshot Plancha, but Jeff gets his knees up and Jeff lands on the knees! EY rolls Jeff into the ring and gets another nearfall. EY slams Jeff into the corner and hits several shots on Jeff before actually spitting into the crowd. That was a little much. EY chokes Jeff in the corner and then Jeff catches a charging EY with a back elbow. Jeff leaps to the top and goes for a Whisper in the Wind but EY sweeps Jeff’s legs! Jeff’s legs get caught up in the turnbuckles in a Tree of Woe. EY goes to the floor and cranks back on the neck of Jeff and then he climbs up top and puts Jeff in a Hanging Dragon Sleeper! EY lets Jeff go and then covers EY for another nearfall. EY hits a Hangman’s Neckbreaker for yet another nearfall. EY whips Jeff into the ropes and drops him with a Back Elbow and then climbs up top and dives off with a Diving Headbutt, but Jeff actually catches EY with a right hand to the face as he came diving! EY and Jeff exchange right hands with Jeff getting the better of EY. Jeff bounces off the ropes with a Flying Forearm and then a Russian Leg Sweep! Jeff follows up with a Leg Drop to the legs of EY for a nearfall. Jeff goes for the Twist of Fate but EY blocks it and lifts Jeff up to the top rope. EY climbs up with Jeff and attempts a Superplex but Jeff fights him off and shoves him to the mat. Jeff hits the Swanton Bomb! 1…2…3! 

 

 

Matt Hardy comes down to the ring with Reby Sky and his son. 

 

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

 

Matt calls that match we just saw the Comeback of the Year after his injuries and he says that everyone is so happy to see Jeff tonight. Matt apologizes for not helping Jeff when EY injured him and he says that he was just protecting his wife. Reby says that that night was rough for all of them and Matt was up all night crying that night. She says that Matt is sweet and sensitive when it comes to family. She says that Jeff is her son’s second favorite wrestler and then hands the baby to “Uncle Jeff.” Matt says he doesn’t want Jeff to be selfish tonight and Jeff should give up his spot in tonight’s Main Event because tonight was supposed to be Matt’s night. He says that if Jeff does the right thing and gives up his spot he swears Jeff will get his shot at BFG 2017 or 2018. 

 

Jeff hands Reby her son back and smirks at Matt. Jeff asks the fans if Matt is being sincere and Jeff says the answer is very simple, “no…I’m in the Main Event tonight.” Matt says they haven’t always seen eye to eye but he wants Jeff to shake his hand and take his proposition and he again promises he will give Jeff a shot one-on-one down the line. Jeff fakes out like he is going to shake Matt’s hand and Matt takes a shot at Jeff, but Jeff catches him and hits the Twist of Fate! 

 

Earlier today Eddie Edwards talks about the injury Davey Richards suffered, a torn ACL, when The Decay attacks him. 

 

Backstage Maria and Mike Bennett talk about how they have promised to change TNA. He says that they have done that and it will happen again because Drew and Gail get their wish tonight in the ring because they will stop talking and start fighting. Mike says he has kicked Drew’s ass once before and he will shut him up finally. He says tonight “The Miracle happens.” 

 

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

 

Beer Money approaches Eddie Edwards, who is pacing back and forth and taping his hands, and ask him if he is okay. Eddie says he is fine and he says he’ll beat The Decay’s ass all on his own and calls himself a “Lone Wolf” right now. Storm says they respect the hell out of him and he doesn’t have to fight them alone, and then Roode turns to the camera and says that it is obvious they are looking for chaos and championships. Roode says that Eddie wants to fight and they have his back. 

 

 

Maria’s ring gear is unbelievable, those shorts are a thing to behold. Maria hides behind Bennett as the match starts but Gail screams at her to fight her. Gail and Maria square off but then Maria quickly runs over and tags in Bennett. Galloway tags in as well and lays Bennett out with a Big Boot followed by a Belly-to-Belly Overhead Suplex. Gail tags back into the ring and then Galloway hits a Running Forearm on Bennett and whips Gail into a Flying Clothesline on Bennett! Gail dares Maria to get in the ring and then she lays into Bennett with a series of right hands and forearms. Maria hits Gail from behind sending Gail crashing to the floor. Maria puts the boots to Gail and rolls her back in the ring. Maria slaps Gail repeatedly and stomps on her. Maria goes for an Elbow Drop but Gail moves out of the way only for Maria to tag out again. Drew tags into the match again and takes out a charging Bennett. Galloway goes for a Running Clothesline but Bennett gets his boots up and then hits a Running Clothesline followed by a dropkick for a nearfall. Bennett stomps Galloway down in the corner and then attempts to whip him into the ropes. Galloway reverses it and hits a clothesline. Galloway beats Bennett down in the corner and then tosses him clear across the ring with a Belly-to-Belly Overhead Suplex! Maria screams at Drew and then slaps him so Drew takes it out on Bennett with some wicked chops! Maria slaps Galloway again so Drew chops him again! Drew charges at Bennett in the corner but Bennett backdrops him to the apron. Drew climbs up top but Bennett Super ArmDrags him to the mat. Maria tags in and stops Drew from tagging but it doesn’t last long. Gail dropkicks Bennett off the apron and then grabs Maria, but Bennett comes in and grabs Gail. Gail catches Bennett with the Eat Defeat out fo nowhere followed by the Claymore from Galloway! Maria rolls Gail up and gets the pin! 

 

 

Maria and Bennett taunt Gail and Drew after the match as Gail looks on in shock.

Josh Matthews is standing in the ring and he says last week was supposed to be a celebration of Kurt Angle’s final TNA match, but what happened was anything but a celebration after what Lashley did after the match. Josh Matthews has such a punchable face and that hair just makes it worse. Lashley says that he waited a tremendous amount of time to get another shot at Kurt Angle and he is a fighter so that is what he does. He says that he isn’t worried about being anyone’s hero and he is just here to fight. He says he is the most dominating person in the entire wrestling business. Lashley asks why he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves in TNA and asks why he gets overlooked in TNA. He asks if it is because of politics in TNA. He says that he confronted Kurt Angle to make sure he would get to be one of Kurt’s final match in TNA. He says he told Kurt that he would beat him up and he did just that. 

 

Josh asks Lashley why he would do that to his friend last week but Lashley says he doesn’t have or need any friends in this business. He says if someone gets in the ring with him he will hurt them because that is what he does. The fans chant “Lashley sucks” and Josh asks if he has a response to that. Lashley says if Josh has an issue with him or what he did to Kurt Angle he should say something about it. Lsahley grabs Josh and says that he is in his ring right now. Lashlye tosses Josh across the ring and then sets up for a Spear but The Pope hits the ring and stands between Josh and Lashley. Pope checks on Josh but then Lashley Spears the shit out of Pope! Lashley tosses Pope out of his ring and screams that this is HIS ring. 

 

Backstage The Decay asks if The Wolves really thought they would forgot about them. He says that Davey Richards had his “decay” come last week and now it is Beer Money and Eddie Edwards turn. Abyss says that they would dare step into The Decay’s black hole and dare them to find a third person for the match tonight. Abyss stares at Rosemary and says there is only one person sick enough for their Decay. She laughs and says that they have “never met a girl like us….Decay…Decay…Decay.”

 

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

 

JB is now on commentary with Matthews after the attack on Pope by Lashley. 

 

Backstage EC3 approaches Jeff Hardy and welcomes him back. He says that there was once a time when the old him would have gotten mad at Jeff’s inclusion in that match. Jeff says he likes the new EC3 and EC3 calls Jeff’s brother a “bag of dicks.” He suggests that Matt always pulls out something from his bag of tricks and Jeff is offended that EC3 is suggesting that Jeff is in his bag of tricks. EC3 says he isn’t suggesting anything and says that he is prepared for anything. Jeff says he better be prepared and walks away.

 

 

The Decay bails to the floor as the babyfaces hit the ring. Steve attacks Eddie from behind as Rosemary got his attention. Steve whips Eddie into the ropes but Eddie slides through his legs and hits an Atomic Drop followed by a series of chops. Roode tags into the match and then they whip Steve into the ropes and hit a Double Hip Toss. Roode hits a Front Suplex for a nearfall. He tosses Steve into the corner and then he attempts to whip Steve into the opposite corner. Steve reverses it and then charges into a boot from Roode. Abyss clotheslines Roode from the apron and then Steve jumps on top of Roode and hits a series of crossfaces. Abyss tags into the match and chokes him in the ropes. Abyss goes for the Chokeslam but Roode counters with a series of elbows but then as he hits the ring Abyss catches him with a Sidewalk Slam for a nearfall. Abyss then Chokeslams Steve onto Roode! Steve gets a nearfall but Storm breaks it up. Steve tags Rosemary into the match and she lays into Roode with a series of forearms. Rosemary tags Abyss back into the match and decks Roode with a clothesline. Abyss whips Roode into the corner and runs through Roode with a Big Splash. Steve tags into the match and goes for a Rolling Cannonball in the corner, but Roode gets out of the way and reaches out for a tag. Steve grabs Roode’s legs but Roode kicks him away and tags in Storm! Storm hits the ropes and lays Steve out with a Flying Forearm followed by a series of clotheslines! Storm hits the Lasso followed by a big Neckbreaker! Storm lifts Steve up to the top rope and then he and Eddie hit a Double Enziguri followed by the Backpack Driver from Eddie after Eddie tagged in. Eddie gets a nearfall and then hits the ropes and ducks a clothesline from Steve followed by hitting a Tope Suicida through the ropes onto Abyss on the floor! Roode hits the Double-R Spinebuster on Steve and then Beer Money goes for the Beer Money Double Suplex on Rosemary but Steve pulls her out of the ring. Beer Money drags Steve back in the ring and hits him with the Beer Money Double Suplex! Roode backdrops Storm into a Plancha on Abyss on the floor! Storm screams like he injured his leg and as the referee checks on Storm, Rosemary spits mist into Eddie’s face! Steve low blows Eddie and rolls him up as the referee comes back in the ring for the pin!

 

 

In the back Grado talks to Billy Corgan about all the drama with Eli Drake. Corgan says TNA officials have looked at all of the facts and he says they will make the final decision over this whole matter in the ring next. 

 

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

 

Backstage Matt Hardy and Reby approach Dixie Carter and Reby asks if Dixie is doing this because the Matt Hardy Brand has become bigger than the TNA Brand. Dixie says she doesn’t make decisions for herself or for Matt, she makes them for the fans. She says that the fans want competitive wrestling matches that will put them on the edge of their seats and this does that. Matt says it is unfair to do this to him and he says that he is going to punch the referee in the face and get himself disqualified. Dixie says that she expected something like that so the Main Event will be No Countdown, No DQ and there WILL be a winner. Reby freaks out as you can hear some fans chanting “TLC.” 

 

Eli Drake comes out to the ring and he says that Billy Corgan told him to come dressed to fight tonight, but before he does anything for Corgan he needs Corgan to bring his Feast or Fired Briefcase to him. 

 

Corgan comes out with Grado as security footage of Drake switching the contents of their briefcases back at Feast or Fired as Grado was taking selfies with a fan. Corgan tells Grado to give Drake the case back to him and Grado relents gives it to him. Drake then demands Grado be dragged out since he got fired but Corgan says upon reviewing the evidence they know that Drake did SOMETHING, though they aren’t sure what he did or can’t prove it, with the briefcases. Corgan says he has a solution and holds up a new contract for Grado. Corgan then says that Grado will have to climb a ladder and earn that contract. They are going to have a Ladder Match. If Grado gets the contract his TNA career is back on but if Drake gets it then he can rip it up. 

 

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

 

 

Drake tries to grab a ladder as the match starts but Grado pulls him back in and goes for one himself. Drake kicks the middle rope into Grado’s balls and then slams the ladder into Grado. Drake slams the ladder into Grado again and then slams it down across the back of Grado. Drake sets the ladder up but instead of climbing it starts beating on Grado again. Drake hits a Leaping Neckbreaker and then climbs up the ladder, but Grado pulls Drake down and hits an Axe Handle. Grado hits the ropes but eats a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker from Drake. Drake sets the ladder up in a corner but then walks into a Jawbreaker from Grado. Grado charges into a boot from Drake but then Drake walks into a series of jabs followed by an attempt at the Atomic Elbow. Drake cuts Grado off and then attempts to whip Grado into the ladder but Grado reverses it sending Drake crashing into the ladder! Grado hits the Rolling Cannonball on Drake sandwiching him into the ladder. Grado sets the ladder up under the contract and starts climbing but Jessie Godderz hits the ring and pushes the ladder off causing Grado to crash down across the top rope. Mahabali Shera runs out and decks Godderz with a huge Forearm Smash. Shera tosses Jessie to the floor and then continues to beat on him. Drake hits Shera with the briefcase but Grado is climbing up the ladder. Drake tries to stop him but Grado kicks him off sending Drake to the floor. Grado then dives off the ladder onto everyone on the floor with a Plancha! Grado climbs up the ladder but Drake grabs his leg and pulls him down. Drake climbs over Grado and stands on the shoulders of Grado, but Grado dumps Drake off the ladder with a huge Electric Chair Drop! Grado climbs up the ladder but as he gets to the top Drake climbs up with him and cuts him off with a rake to the eyes. Drake punches Grado repeatedly and then slams his head into the ladder. Drake grabs the contract but Grado punches him in the gut and then hits the Atomic Elbow! Grado grabs the contract and pulls it down! 

 

 

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

 

Backstage EY is screaming at Bram about what happened earlier. Suddenly Willow The Wisp is shown walking behind them. Willow points at EY and EY freaks out and tells Bram everyone is out to get them.

 

 

Jeff attacks his brother as the match starts but EC3 pulls him off and starts stomping on Matt. Jeff pulls EC3 away and they get in each others face, but then nail Matt with a double back elbow as he charged at them. EC3 rolls Jeff up and gets a nearfall. EC3 puts Jeff in a side headlock and as Jeff shoves him into the ropes EC3 runs him over. EC3 hits the ropes again but Jeff Hip Tosses him. Jeff goes for a Splash in the corner but EC3 moves out of the way and then eats a clothesline from Matt. Matt tries to get Jeff to dive off his back with Poetry in Motion but Jeff effuses and EC3 kicks the hell out of him. EC3 whips Mat into the corner and charges into an elbow from Matt! Jeff then dives off of EC3’s back with Poetry in Motion. Jeff rolls EC3 up and gets a nearfall but then eats a big Leaping Knee from EC3! The Hardyz whip EC3 into the ropes and hit a Double Back Elbow but then clothesline each other. EC3 clotheslines both Hardyz and then lights Matt up with chops. Jeff hits a Jawbreaker on Matt but then EC3 tosses Jeff to the apron. EC3 climbs up top and mocks Matt only for Jeff to cut him off. Jeff climbs up with EC3 but EC3 Super Powerslams Jeff off the top! EC3 hits a beautiful Dropkick on a charging Matt that sends Matt crashing to the floor. 

 

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

Jeff goes for the Twist of Fate on Matt but Matt counters into a Side Effect for a nearfall! During the break Matt hit a nasty Side Effect on EC3 on the apron. Jeff and Matt exchange right hands and then Jeff hits a Flying Forearm off the ropes! Jeff hits an Atomic Drop followed by a Leg Drop to the balls! Jeff hits a Basement Dropkick for a nearfall. Jeff hits the Twist of Fate and then climbs up top but EY and Bram run out as Jeff hits the Swanton Bomb! Bram and EY attack Jeff and beat him down as Matthews reminds us that it is No DQ. EY tosses Jeff to the floor and Bram pulls up the padding at ringside. EY Piledrives Jeff on the floor and security runs out and drags EY and Bram away. In the ring EC3 tackles Matt and pounds away at him with right hands. EC3 hits the ropes but runs into a Sleeper from Matt. Jeff is helped to the back by referee’s and medical people. EC3 counters the Sleeper with a Back Suplex and then hits a Running Clothesline followed by a Back Elbow! EC3 hits a Jawbreaker and then a Stinger Splash in the corner! EC3 shoves Matt into the ropes and hits a Flapjack! Rockstar Spud hits the ring and attacks EC3 from behind! Tyrus runs out as well and they beat EC3 down in the corner. Tyrus attempts a Splash in the corner but EC3 moves out of the way and destroys Spud with a Lariat! EC3 hits a TKO on Tyrus! EC3 Press Slams Spud over the top onto Tyrus on the floor! Matt hits EC3 in the balls and then goes for the Twist of Fate, but EC3 counters it into the One Percenter! Mike Bennett runs out with a chair and hits EC3 with it! Hardy covers EC3, 1…2…NO EC3 kicks out and Bennett freaks out! Matt hits the Twist of Fate! 1…2…NO EC3 kicks out again! Bennett tosses EC3 to the floor and then throws him into the crowd. Bennett goes to hit EC3 with the chair again but EC3 kicks him and grabs the chair. Bennett kicks EC3 and hits him in the back with the chair repeatedly. Several referees and members of security force Bennett to the back as an EMT checks on EC3. They try to help EC3 to the back and Matt grabs a microphone. Matt laughs and says he told everyone that nobody is taking the title from him. He says that Dixie is trying to commit a conspiracy against him but it still didn’t work. He says that he told everyone he would walk out as the World Title tonight but then Drew Galloway’s music hits and he lays Matt out! 

 

 

Galloway cashes in his Feast or Fired shot!

 

 

Matt attacks Drew as he gets in the ring with headbutts and right hands and then a Twist of Fate, but Drew shoves him into the ropes and hits the Claymore followed by the Future Shock for the pin! 

 

 

Drew goes out into the crowd and celebrates with the fans.
