WWE Monday Night RAW Results
January 4, 2016
San Antonio, Texas
Report by: Mike Tedesco of Wrestleview.com
A video recaps the events from last week’s RAW. Vince McMahon came out to taunt Roman Reigns and talked about how he took advantage of his father in the 1980s. Reigns shoved McMahon down. Stephanie McMahon came out with some New York City police to try to goad them into arresting Reigns. McMahon became frustrated with the cops for not immediately arresting Reigns and put his hands on one of them. The police then arrested McMahon. Later in the night, Reigns saved John Cena from being attacked by the League of Nations. McMahon then came out and announced that Reigns would defend his title next week against Sheamus with him as the special referee.
Stephanie McMahon’s music hits, and she makes her way to the ring smiling. As she comes to the ring, Roman Reigns’ music hits to interrupt her. Reigns doesn’t get a great pop, but once he’s in the ring, the people chant his name. Reigns says it seems like she’s not needed tonight. It’s not about her – it’s about her father. Reigns calls out Vince McMahon.
Stephanie says Reigns is going to have to get used to disappointment tonight because her father is not here yet. He’ll be here in time to guest referee his championship match against Sheamus. Reigns has to face the truth because the odds aren’t in his favor. Reigns says if he loses the title, he doesn’t have a job and can’t provide for his family. Reigns says this is his life and family and no one will take that away from him. Stephanie says he almost had her believing he’ll beat Sheamus tonight. Stephanie asks the crowd if they think he’ll beat Sheamus, and the crowd chants, “YES!” Stephanie says it’s pathetic that the crowd hangs on to hope so desperately, but it’s not a strategy. Nobody competes with Vince McMahon and wins. Last week, Reigns had a moment when McMahon was arrested and laughed, but we’ll see who laughs last. All charges have been dropped. Stephanie says she’s the boss and Reigns is the help. She won’t fire him, though. After he loses the WWE Championship tonight, she’s going to simply use him. She’ll make him fight every single night until his body breaks down and he simply can’t go anymore. After that, the people who he thinks care so much will forget about him and cheer the next arrogant superstar that thinks he can stand in her ring. She’ll do to Reigns exactly what her father did to Sika.
Reigns says she shouldn’t worry about his father. She should worry about hers. If her father screws him tonight, she won’t be picking him up from jail. She’ll be picking him up from the hospital. Reigns drops the microphone and leaves the ring.
A replay is shown of Neville quickly beating Kevin Owens last week on RAW. Owens immediately attacked him after the match and wouldn’t let up. Owens went for an apron powerbomb when Dean Ambrose ran out for the save. They brawled until Owens retreated. Later in the night, Owens blindsided Ambrose and gave him a powerbomb through the commentary table.
