The Great Muta is scheduled to undergo surgery on his right knee and will be out of action for an indefinite period of time. The 47 year old wrestling icon has been postponing the surgery because he is All Japan Pro Wrestling’s top drawing star. As a result, the struggling promotion will run the Sumo Hall on 3/21 without him. There is fear that his 3/8 match in Chiba could have been his final match. Muta is still going on the road and continue working as the promotion’s sole booker. Muta’s knees are said to be in unbelievably deteriorating condition, and this will be Muta’s four surgery on his right knee.
