TNA Impact Wrestling Results – 11/4/15 (Young vs. Roode)

 

 

Impact starts off this week with highlights from last week and then JB and Pope run down the card for tonight.

 

 

Madison cuts a promo backstage before the match and talks about the Knockouts starting the “revolution” going on in Women’s wrestling a decade ago. Pretty lame shot at WWE’s “Divas Revolution.” She says that she knows that this match is do or die for here in the World Title Series and she knows that her back is against the wall but she likes it like that. Brooke beat Gail in her first match in the series while Madison lost to Kong. They shake hands before the match and then lockup with Brooke forcing Madison into the corner before tossing her with an armdrag. Madison respond with an armdrag of her own and then they lockup again. Madison gets Brooke in a side headlock but Brooke counters into a hammerlock and then a headlock of her own. Madison counters with an armdrag and then goes back to the headlock. Brooke shoves Madison into the ropes and then drops down but Madison jumps on Brooke’s back and locks the headlock back on. Brooke fights to her feet and shoves Madison into the ropes and hits a dropkick for a nearfall. Madison hits a series of forearms but sells her arm like she injured it and Madison immediately runs her over with a Shoulder Block. Madison lights Brooke up with chops and forearms before connecting with a Spinning Elbow. Madison dropkicks the arm of Brooke of she had it laid out on the ropes. Brooke tries fighting back with kicks and an elbow from the other arm. Brooke hits a Running Knee followed by a Springboard Clothesline out of the corner for another nearfall. Brooke and Madison exchange forearms but then Brooke surprises Madison with a Flapjack as she hit the ropes. Brooke climbs up top and hits a Flying Elbow Drop for a nearfall. Brooke covers Madison for another nearfall out of frustration. Brooke attempts a Back Suplex but she can’t lift Madison because of her arm injury and Madison immediately hits the Rayne Check for the pin! 

 

 

Backstage Eric Young says that everyone in TNA is trying to screw him over

Fresh off his suspension Bram is looking for his first points while Spud looks to just about guarantee his venture to the next round with a win. Bram gets in Spud’s face and then shoves him as the fans chant for the Underdog. Spud doesn’t back down and gets in Bram’s face but Bram shoves him down and then starts taunting him. Spud slaps the piss out of Bram and then ducks a right hand and slaps Bram again. Spud hits a series of forearms and then ducks a clothesline and hits a few more strikes. Spud backs Bram into the corner and hits a series of Running Forearms but as he went for a third one Bram grabs him by the throat. Spud bites the thumb of Bram only for Bram to grab him by the hair and slam to the mat. Spud begins to play with Bram’s head as he goes in and out of the ring with Bram giving chase only for Spud to elbow drop him as he gets in the ring. Bram gets frustrated and goes to the floor to gain his composure. Spud dives off the apron but Bram catches him in midair and Press Slams him onto the ring steps. Back in the ring Bram hits the Brighter Side of Suffering for the pin. 

 

 

Backstage Roode says that he hasn’t forgotten everything EY has done to him and EY is the reason he lost the World Title, and after he wins the World Title Series he will close out 2015 as a double champion in TNA.

A clip from the Jeff Hardy interview airs saying that EC3 pushed him too far and everything he went through was worth it seeing his brother finally win the World Heavyweight Championship. 

 

 

Manik could take the lead with a win here while Mandrews would tie everyone else with 3 points if he wins. They lockup and Manik quickly sweeps the legs of Mandrews before putting him in a top wristlock. Mandrews reverses the hold into a Snapmare Takeover and then goes for a headlock, but Manik quikly counters into a headlock. Mandrews sweeps the legs of Manik and then hits the ropes and hits a beautiful Wheel Barrow Armdrag followed by a series of nice rollups for nearfalls. Manik and Mandrews exchange wristlocks and hammerlocks before Manik catches Mandrews with a snapmare. Mandrews lands on his feet and then attempts a Victory Roll but Manik slams to him to the mat and then starts working on the arm of Mandrews. Manik puts Mandrews in an Indian Death Lock and then grabs the arm and rolls him over into a Bow & Arrow Death Lock. Manik then release the hold and puts Mandrews in a Straight Jacket but Mandrews manages to reverse it only for Manik to bridge back to reverse it right back. They begin exchanging a number of reversals on each other until Mandrews catches Manik with a series of rolling pins for another nearfall. Manik puts Mandrews in an odd lucha style arm submission before just simply kicking the arm as he releases the hold. Manik goes back to the arm with a version of a keylock before stomping the arm into the amt. Manik charges at Mandrews but he gets a boot up and then goes to the apron and springboard into the ring with a dropkick to Manik. Mandrews charges at Manik and hits a Running Enziguri. Mandrews sends Manik into the corner and charges right into a back kick from Manik only for Manik to eat a hurricanrana from Mandrews! Mandrews leaps to the top and then dives off with a Diving Tornado DDT! Mandrews climbs up top but Manik simply rolls to the other side of the ring to get away. Mandrews comes down and charges at Manik and catches Manik with a Body Scissors Takeover and then a Standing Ghetto Stomp! Mandrews attempts a Standing Moonsault but Manik gets his knees up and locks Mandrews in an armbar at the same time! Mandrews rolls him over for a nearfall to break it and then catches Manik with a Northern Light Suplex followed by a Standing Corkscrew Moonsault! Mandrews climbs up top and attempts the Shooting Star Press but Manik gets his knees up again and then hits the Detonation Kick for the pin! 

 

 

Backstage The Wolves talk about their match tonight and they say that tonight is about the World Title Series and the better man will win.

Another clip of that damn Jeff Jarrett DVD is shown as I contemplate slamming my head into the wall. Whoever the asshole is that made the decision to air these clips over the last few months, you are an asshole. 

 

Backstage EY says he will see Roode “real soon” and that he is going to take Roode out tonight. 

 

The Jeff Hardy interview airs. He talks about the Cage Match the Hardyz had with The Revolution and he says he suffered a concussion during that match. He said he just wanted to get revenge on Storm for that injury and he got in in the singles Cage Match they had and talks about the Ultimate X with The Wolves. He says that writing dirtbikes have always been a part of his life since he was nine and talks about the circumstances around the wreck and his injury. He says that he had been looking to jump a third hill on his dirt track (he had never jumped more than two) and it was just a mistakes and how embarrassing it was to break his leg in a non-wrestling related activity right after winning the Tag Titles. 

 

 

I believe this is the first time they have faced each other on Impact though they did face each other at one of the One Night Only PPVs. They still come out together for the match thought they are wearing different gear tonight. Both have zero points in the series and are in dire need of a win here. They lockup and Davey quickly gets Eddie in a wristlock but Eddie reverses it and then takes Davey down with a top wristlock. Davey fights back to his feet and they brawl into the ropes where the referee breaks them up. They lockup again and this time go with a test of strength. They stalemate again and then exchange Monkey Flips though both guys hold onto the wristlocks. They both go down to the mat with the wristlocks and get double nearfalls and both bridge to their feet. Davey finally breaks the hold and then hits the ropes but Eddie leapfrogs him and Davey quickly rolls him up. Davey transitions into a crazy submission but Eddie reverses it back on Davey with a submission of his own! Eddie rolls him over into a nearfall but then they exchange armdrags. They both go for Mafia Kicks at the same time and catch each others feet.

Back from the break Davey hits a dropkick on Eddie as Eddie bounces off the ropes. Davey hits a Snap Suplex for a nearfall and then he puts Eddie in kind of a reverse Figure Four before transitioning into an Indian Death Lock. Davey transitions into another nearfall as Eddie was being stretched. Davey whips Eddie into the corner but Eddie leapfrogs Davey and then ducks a Mafia Kick and hits an Atomic Drop followed by a Mafia Kick and then a Shining Wizard for a nearfall! Eddie whips Davey into the ropes and connects with a back elbow for another nearfall. Eddie hits a series of headbutts and then lights Davey up with chops. Eddie hits a Snapmare Takeover and puts Davey in a chinlock but Davey fights back up to his feet and breaks the hold with elbows. Eddie

Jeff says that EC3 pushed him too far and that he will be the loudest chanting “creature” for his brother win he wins the World Title again. 

 

Backstage Roode confronts EY and says he won’t let EY get in his head, but EY says that he is already renting space in it and walks away as Roode is pissed.

The winner of this match will move into the top spot of Group Wildcards. King cuts a promo backstage and rambles about Shera stealing his girl and about them having personal issues. They lockup and Shera tosses King across the ring. King taunts Shera by doing some pushups and then King catches Shera with a side headlock as Shera goes for a lockup. Shera shoves King into the ropes and runs him over with a shoulder block. King comes back with a headlock and then Shera shoves him into the ropes and hits another shoulder block. Shera hits the ropes and King leapfrogs him before hitting a Side Headlock Takeover. Shera fights him off and counters with a Back Suplex. Shera comes back with a Pounce and then he charges King in the corner but King hits him with an elbow followed by a Blockbuster off the top. Shera retreats to the floor but King dives over the top with a Corkscrew Plancha onto Shera! Shera does not attempt to catch him in any way and because of that ignorance King’s foot catches him flush on the top of the head. King rolls Shera back in the ring and gets a nearfall before King whips him into the ropes. King attempts a backdrop but Shera kicks him and rolls King up with a nearfall. King gets back to his feet and hits a big Lariat! King puts Shera in a chinlock and fights King off with a series of elbows and then he picks up King and just drops him behind him. King gets back up and hits a Spinning Enziguri to the back of Shera for a nearfall. King goes for the Coronation in the corner but Shera moves out of the way and hits a series of body shots to the ribs of King. Shera hits a Forearm Smash and then a series of clotheslines. Shera whips King into the ropes and connects with another clothesline before hitting a Vertical Suplex. Shera charges at King in the corner but King catches him with an elbow and then climbs up top and attempts the Blockbuster again but Shera catches him in midair with the Sky High!

A video package highlights the history between Roode and EY. 

 

 

These two were long time partners in Team Canada and multi time Tag Team Champions together but they were also very bitter rivals just earlier this year. They are both former World Champions as well. Roode defeated James Storm in his first match while EY lost to Abyss so EY is in a must win situation here. 

 

—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-

 

Roode runs over EY with a clothesline as the match starts and then whips him into the ropes and lifts EY way up into the lights with a backdrop! Roode clotheslines EY to the floor and then he grabs EY hair’s from inside the ring and pulls him up to the apron. EY stuns Roode on the ropes and then dives off the top but Roode catches him with a shot to the gut followed by a rolling neck snap. Roode attempts the Roode Bomb but EY rakes his eyes and then hits a Spinning Neckbreaker! EY covers Roode for a nearfall and then he chokes Roode in the ropes. EY catapults Roode throat first into the middle rope. EY hits a Snapmare Takeover and then puts Roode in a chinlock. Roode gets to his feet and breaks the hold before hitting the ropes and then leapfrogging EY followed by a dropkick. Roode whips EY into the ropes and goes for a backdrop but EY catches him with a Spinning Neckbreaker for a nearfall. EY whips Roode into the corner and then charges into an elbow from Roode. Roode attempts to kick EY but EY catches his foot only to eat an Enziguri! Roode and EY exchange strikes and then Roode whips EY into the corner. EY flips over the top and lands on the apron where he hits a charging Roode with a shoulder block through the ropes. EY slides through the legs of Roode and then hits the ropes only to run right into the Double-R Spinebuster from Roode! 1…2…NO EY kicks out! Roode goes for the Payoff but EY blocks it and then goes for the Piledriver! Roode jackknifes EY to counter it and gets a nearfall. Roode dives off the top but EY pulls the referee in front of him. Roode stops himself in midair but then walks into the Spike Piledriver from EY! 1…2…3!
