WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka was released on $100,000 bail on Tuesday afternoon following his arrest on charges of third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in the 1983 death of then-girlfriend Nancy Argentino.
Snuka surrendered his passport when posting bail and authorities do not believe he is a flight risk at this time. James B. Martin, Lehigh Valley District Attorney, stated that Snuka turned himself into authorities in Pennsylvania on Tuesday morning and was not arrested at his home in New Jersey despite prior reports stating otherwise.
The main decision to indict Snuka was his changing statements that he made about Nancy Argentino to authorities in the 1980s along with his own account published in a recent autobiography released several years ago. Snuka told police Argentino was injured while playing around and later stated in his book that she slipped and hit her head on a rock. The discrepancy in both stories was enough to move forward with a grand jury investigation. A preliminary hearing with Snuka is scheduled for the morning of 9/21.
