WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on his newest “Steve Austin Show” podcast today on Podcastone.com cleared the air on rumored issues between himself, WWE and Vince McMahon that were reported by multiple wrestling media websites over the last week. Here are excerpts from the podcast:
* Austin addressed the rumor that he was scheduled to fly into California with The Undertaker and that WWE staff was surprised when he didn’t show. Austin said that wasn’t true at all and is confused why it even started since he knows Undertaker lives in Texas and he now mostly resides in Los Angeles when he isn’t at the Broken Skull Ranch.
* Austin added that at no point did he have any creative discussions with WWE about being part of WrestleMania 31.
“There was no booking. There was no ideas. I didn’t turn down anything. I simply wasn’t there.”
* Regarding rumors about having heat with Vince McMahon and turning down the “Tough Enough”, Austin said neither are true. He said “Tough Enough” was supposed to start filming in February/March and he had a clash of scheduling with CMT for his “Broken Skull Challenge” reality show.
“I didn’t turn it down for any other reason but that. That’s just the way it is.”
* When it comes to the Stone Cold Podcast being part of the WWE Network, Austin said they initially agreed to do two of them and discuss a deal. Austin added:
“A deal wasn’t made and we aren’t moving forward. End of story. There is no heat there.”
He also said the rumor that Vince McMahon wasn’t happy with his line of questioning wasn’t true either with Chris Jericho being brought in on Monday night.
Wrestleview.com never reported on any of the rumored issues between Austin and WWE.
