WWE star Santino Marella posted the following on Twitter:
“Well folks bad news, we had semi-emergency surgery today, had to remove all the hardware in my neck, not sure what recovery will entail.”
Marella had retired in July from the ring due to neck injuries, but had since been looking to make a return to the ring.
