“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

Footage is shown from the RAW main event of Roman Reigns versus Randy Orton. They had a long match that saw Reigns nearly pin Orton until being attacked by Corporate Kane and Seth Rollins. A prolonged beat down was given to Reigns, including seeing Seth Rollins hit Reigns with a cross-body off the top of the cage. It culminated with Orton bashing him with a chair a few times before Rollins gave him a Curb Stomp onto the chair.

Todd Philips, Michael Cole, and JBL welcome us to the show. Tonight’s main event will see Chris Jericho and Roman Reigns team up to face Seth Rollins and Randy Orton. We’ll also see Mark Henry have an arm wrestling contest against Rusev.

Big Show, Mark Henry & The Usos vs. Goldust, Stardust & The Wyatt Family

Before the match begins, replays are shown of Goldust and Stardust viciously assaulting Jey Uso’s injured knee two weeks ago on RAW. Then this past Monday, The Usos got even by attacking them from behind.

Bray Wyatt is seated at the top of the stage in a rocking chair. Jimmy Uso will start the match against Goldust. Goldust charges him, but Jimmy powers him to the corner and punches away at him. Goldust reverses a whip, but Jimmy puts the brakes on and takes him down with a clothesline and an uppercut for a no count. Goldust quickly kicks him and tags in Stardust. Stardust punches him before being kicked in the midsection. Jimmy chops the chest a few times before tagging in his brother, Jey Uso. Jey, whose knee is still heavily wrapped, limps into the ring and chops him before choking him on the ropes. Jimmy tags back in, and he comes off the top rope with a double sledge to the shoulder. Stardust quickly powers him to the corner, and Luke Harper blind tags in. Harper and Stardust stare at one another before Harper misses a clothesline, and Jimmy dropkicks him down.

Mark Henry is tagged in, and he head-butts Harper down before doing a JYD head-butt. Henry sends him to the corner and hits an avalanche. Henry gets the crowd going before sending Harper to the opposite corner. Henry somehow got distracted, and Harper took him down with a big boot. There seemed to be some miscommunication there. Bray Wyatt now powers down to ringside, but the Big Show stands in his way. Wyatt smiles and backs up the ramp.

Jimmy charges, but Harper catches him with a back body drop to the apron. Jimmy loses his balance, tries to hang on to the ropes, but he falls to the floor and hurts his knee. His brother, Jey, with the already injured knee, comes by to check on him.

Stardust tags in and attacks the injured Jimmy at ringside. Stardust bounces him off the apron and the commentary table before putting him in the ring for a two count. Big Show sends him to the opposite corner and hits a corner clothesline before hitting the ropes and turning him inside out with a shoulder block. Big Show goes for a Chokeslam, and Goldust runs in to stop him. Big Show grabs him by the throat as well, but the Dust Brothers kick him and hits a double-team suplex! Mark Henry runs in and avalanches Goldust. Harper and Rowan punch him out of the ring and double-team him. Goldust also joins in on the beating. Jimmy Uso then takes them all out with a running dive over the top rope!

In the ring, Stardust hits Big Show with the Disaster Kick. Big Show soon is quick to get back to his feet, so Stardust dropkicks him into the ropes. Big Show rebounds with a Knockout Punch. Jey Uso tags in and hits a Superfly Splash off the top rope for the win.

Colter doesn’t even know who that is! Colter says Dallas is running a scam. He shouldn’t be in a ring — he should be on a late night infomercial. Colter says what Americans need to do is rise, put their hands on their hearts, and say, “We the people!”

-Commercial Break-

The absolutely atrocious segment with Jerry Springer and The Bella Twins is inexplicably shown in near entirety. You can almost hear remotes clicking the channel button.

Byron Saxton is backstage with Nikki Bella. Saxton asks what the Jerry Springer intervention meant for her. Nikki says it was a tough day. The entire world got a taste of what she’s gone through. She’s the victim, not Brie. Nikki says she’s going through a lot when she should be focusing on the Divas Title Match. Focusing on winning that match makes her forget that she has a sister. AJ Lee comes up and says Nikki weaseled her way into her rematch for the title. There are certain benefits to being Stephanie McMahon’s lapdog. Paige comes up and says its not about her, AJ, and Nikki. It’s about her and AJ only. She’ll beat AJ one more time so they can be friends again. Paige forgets who Nikki is and walks off. Mike’s Quick Thoughts

* The eight-man tag team match was a fun way to open up the show and showcase two tag team feuds. It filled up time, so it did its job. I only had a few issues with some things. First, Jey Uso could barely make it to the stage on RAW with the knee injury. He still had crutches and was limping badly. You’re telling me that in four kayfabe days he was cleared to wrestle and is able to do a splash off the top rope? Come on now. I can suspend my disbelief only so much. Another qualm I had with the match was Goldust and Stardust doing a double-team suplex on Big Show. It took two guys to get him off his feet, but I feel like Big Show has been leaving his feet way too much to the point where it’s not impressive to see a 450-pound man get slammed. In the past few weeks we’ve seen like two or three body slams from Rowan and now this. Big Show should only be getting slammed on PPVs. It should be a spectacle, not a throwaway on a random Smackdown that has nothing to do in the big time picture. Don’t get me wrong – the match was still fun, but there were a few problems.

* I really didn’t like the Bo Dallas match at all. Nothing against Bo Dallas; I like the guy a lot. It’s on the people who booked it. The bell rings, and then Dallas cuts a promo with his back to his opponent the entire time. Are you kidding me? Gabriel never thought to himself, “Gee, he’s not paying attention to me whatsoever; maybe I should surprise him with a roll up!” I don’t know if the referee jumped the gun and had them ring the bell too early or what. You’re asking way too much of me to suspend my disbelief on that. That was absolute crap and lazy booking. Smackdown has simply become a show they just churn out, no different from Superstars and Main Event. Hardly anything of consequence ever happens on the show anymore. It’s just a show on the schedule. They have to do something, so let’s just put stuff, any kind of stuff, out there.

* Ok, the divas match brought the show back for me a little bit. I don’t always like it, but I enjoyed this little bit of one-upmanship with them stealing their finishers. Quick fun.

* The arm wrestling contest was fun for the first few moments, but it quickly started to drag with the attack. Henry just laid around forever before eating another kick. This match-up doesn’t have the same sizzle the Swagger match-up did.

* I know I may be in the minority here, but I absolutely love the stunt double angle with The Miz. Damien Sandow is absolutely perfect in his role right now. So many people cry that he’s not being utilized properly. I’d agree if he sucked at this role, but he doesn’t. He’s got comedy skills, so he’s being used properly. He’s featured every week on RAW or Smackdown or both in a lot of cases. The guy is pulling in a paycheck for what he does. I’m sure he’s not losing sleep over it. The R-Truth thing as R-Ziggler legitimately made me laugh. It may be the greatest thing he’s done in WWE since he came out dressed as a Confederate Soldier singing “When Little Jimmy Comes Marching Home.”

* The main event of the show was your basic paint-by-numbers Smackdown tag team main event match. You get double hot tags so it stretches out a bit. This too contained some really laughable mistakes. Ok, so Jericho did a dive off a 25-foot cage (his words) on Monday and injured his knee in the process, right? Ok, so why in the name of all that is good and holy is he doing missile dropkicks and diving chops to the head days after that? Jericho is a great worker and gets a pass, but come on. There wasn’t one agent who went up to Jericho and told him to really sell the knee? I barely saw any limping. Also, where is the intrigue for the Rollins/Reigns match? Reigns dominated him every single chance they made contact. Like I said in my thoughts from RAW, if they don’t start booking Reigns to be a little more vulnerable, he’s dead in the water before he even takes off.
