Backstage, Rich Brennan interviews Bayley. Bayley says that she hates to be a Debbie-Downer or a lemon, like Adam Rose, but I was pretty happy to see the BFFs break-up because they’ve been mean to me. Did you know that I have beaten Charlotte? Just a few weeks ago, I pinned her in the middle of the ring. Bayley pinned the NXT Women’s Champion, Ric Flair’s daughter. Now, could you imagine, if I had a title shot against the champion and I can beat her……

Charlotte walks in and says that Bayley is so adorable, isn’t she? Just because you stole one, one, victory off the NXT Women’s Champion, you actually think you’re ready for a title shot? I mean, its not like you are gentically superior or anything? I actually kinda pity you, did you not just see me out there? I don’t wanna humilate you, Bayley, so it’d be in your best interest to not utter my name again.

7/31 WWE NXT Pros & Cons

Pros

* Love me some Ascension squashes, promo afterwards was short, but to the point, so was good for what it was.

* Promo exchange between Neville & Breeze was fun, although Neville came off a little heelish having to resort to “Yo Momma” jokes on Breeze. Breeze’s squash was fine to continue to get over the Beauty Shot as an “out-of-nowhere” finish.

* Solid main event from Rose & Kidd. Love Kidd’s new demeanor on his control sections, very rabid, but focused control work from him, impressive. Rose got to bust out more of the moveset here and it looked fine. Nice continuation with the angle between Kidd & Natalya at the end with Kidd letting something as a little as Rose handing a lollipop to Natalya get to him and now use that as a way to blame Natalya for the loss. Good stuff all around.

* Solid match between Becky Lynch & Charlotte. Lynch’s revamp in character, going from the stereotypical Irishwoman to having more of a rock-based edge worked out well for the entrance and the presence she brought out in the match. Charlotte’s control work was more centered this time and it played nicely into hitting her finish. Good stuff from the Divas this week.

Cons

* Backstage promo exchange between Charlotte & Bayley was not that good. First off, Bayley seemed to deliver the promo in a way that was completely unlike her character, talking pretty much in a normal tone, not the usual tone we have seen from Bayley promos. Then, Charlotte’s content was solid, but her delivery again was very montonus and robotic. Hate to say, but Charlotte, on promos at least, is becoming the female version of Randy Orton where once in a while, you’ll see that intestity and delivery needed to cut good promos, but most of the time, the promos, like has been Orton’s norm throughout his career, is very plodding. Here’s hoping Charlotte does not become that, but right now, its not looking good for her sake.

* Tag match was OK, but completely random. Yes, there is a tournament next week and yes, the pairing of Mojo & Bull was straight out of the “Odd Couple 101” playbook, but to throw out the Mechanics with no rhyme or reason, especially Dawson, coming off an injury and was used pretty well prior to injury last year, was head-scratching to me. Mechanics looked decent as a team, but they didn’t show enough to warrant a clear analysis of them.
