The Final Impact

Another solid Impact from NYC for TNA, though I don’t think it was quite as strong as last week and not as strong as I BELIEVE next week’s was. Regardless I am beyond excited about Destination X and really cannot wait to see it. That is definitely a plus for TNA.

The opening brawl with MVP and Roode was very entertaining but it is very clear that MVP is hurting. I don’t like that he is still working in the ring if his knee is as hurt as he is selling it. He is so good on the mic as Lashley’s mouthpiece they really don’t need him in the ring either.

The Hardyz reunion was very fun and the kind of past vs. present scenario with The Wolves was cool and that match is going to be really fun to see. I am beyond happy to see Matt Hardy doing well and back mentally healthy. At the end of his TNA run he seemed to be too far gone to help, but like Jeff he is been able to bounce back and if the Hardyz make a final run together for awhile they could add a lot to TNA’s current tag division.

I really hate that Muta’s match was so short and against Robbie E as it almost seems like a waste, but I can understand that they obviously just wanted him in a squash match to showcase himself before doing the angle with Sanada. This dynamic that Sanada and Storm have is just so odd to me but I have to say that it is very interesting to see where this will go. With the rumor that Tajiri is coming to TNA in August this could be an awesome lead in to maybe a Muta & Tajiri vs. Storm & Sanada match at BFG. That would be a cool match and likely a Tajiri/Muta team would be a nice draw in Japan as well as I believe it has in the past.

Terrell and Gail had another solid match going before BP got involved, but Terrell definitely seemed like a couple of times the six sides confused her a bit. She will get used to that though and when those two eventually do begin feuding again it will be fun to see.

It was really great to see Low-Ki back in TNA and the way Tenay and Taz talked about it, it seems like this is a long term thing thankfully. He looked as good as ever and a match with Zema was a nice showcase for him. There are some really interesting matchups TNA could do with him going against the likes of Aries, Zema, Manik, Tigre Uno, Sanada, and even maybe his old buddy Samoa Joe.

I know some people don’t like Bram for whatever reason but I really like the guy, I love his aggressive personality and how psychotic he is able to play it off.

The Street Fight was a fun brawl and I have no problem with the inclusion of Zeke and Snitsky as long as it is short term and for this angle only as I don’t care to see them in TNA for long. I would assume where they are going is Dixie claiming that they are “real ECW stars” having taken part in WWE’s version of ECW to get some cheap heat on the old school ECW fans. Destination X is really going to be fun next week.

– Segment/Promo of the Night: Hardy’s reunion and Sanada turning on Muta
– Match of the Night: NYC Street Fight (**1/2)
– Overall Grade: B

Until next week… PEACE!
