Regarding production for Ring of Honor’s 6/22 “Best in the World” PPV in Nashville, the company had brought in proper lighting, had it in their trucks and weren’t allowed to set them up. A structural engineer wouldn’t allow the company to use the lighting rig fearing that the Nashville Fairgrounds structure couldn’t handle the weight. Instead they used lighting tree structures that were blinding at times with low camera shots under the bottom rope. Ring of Honor also brought in an outside generator that didn’t have any problems during the live show. According to a report by Dave Meltzer, had the show continued for another half hour though things could have “been bad.”
The company has not announced another live PPV event yet for the rest of 2014. The belief is that the may hold off until they receive more numbers for the 6/22 PPV.
