Live from the historic ECW Arena in Philly “Masked Mania,” the first ever Lucha Libre iPPV in America, opens up with just an empty ring and nothing going on for a few minutes. A promo video for an upcoming PWR event in California runs and then a “never before seen lucha match” from Las Vegas is running for some reason, with on audio. The audio comes back and it is a match between Scorpio Sky and Black Tiger. I’ve seen Kevin Kleinrock tweeting about this match over the last week. It was from a Lucha Libre pilot that never aired. It was supposed to play during intermission so I have no idea why we are seeing it now, unless there are some technical difficulties going on.
A pretty neat Perros del Mal highlight video with highlights from several of their events played while their theme by a Spanish rapper Madball played.
Joel Gertner comes down to the ring as we cut to the arena with Gertner announcing in Spanish, as he did back in the original ECW during their Extreme Lucha Libre matches. Gertner even cuts his usual rapped promo in Spanish. I think he called himself King Gertner during that little thing.
Hallowicked & Frightmare vs. Latin Dragon & Ultimo Panda
Latin Dragon gets a decent reaction from the crowd as he is a local kid. First shot of the crowd looks pretty full in the arena. Panda and Hallowicked kick the match off with Hallowicked getting a quick kick in as Panda went for a lockup. Hallowicked playing the rudo role as he poses and taunts Panda. They lockup again with Hallowicked kneeing Panda in the gut and then goes for a headscissors, but Panda blocks it and slaps Hallowicked on the ass. Hallowicked tries to respond but Panda pulls the referee in front of him and Hallowicked slaps his ass. The crowd is getting into the comedy as the referee slaps Hallowicked’s ass back. Hallowicked dropkicks Panda and begins chopping him before slamming him into the turnbuckles. Hallowicked backdrops Panda over the top rope but Panda lands on the apron and pulls Hallowicked down to the mat by his mask. Panda climbs up top and blocks a chop from Hallowicked. Panda walks the ropes and hits a Springboard Chop to the shoulder. Panda goes for a Boston Crab but Frightmare breaks it up. Panda snapmares Frightmare onto Hallowicked and then locks them in a Double Boston Crab and Dragon comes off the ropes with a dropkick to the rudos! The rudos roll to the floor and the tecnicos set up for a dive but the rudos move. Panda and Dragon stop and then Panda tries to roll backward into a kip up but can’t in a funny spot so Dragon helps him up. Dragon and Frightmare in the ring now and they run the ropes and show off their speed. They exchange arm drags and headscissors. Dragon connects with a dropkick and Frightmare retreats to his corner to get away from Dragon. Frightmare now wants a test of strength but kicks Dragon instead and tags Hallow back in. Hallow puts the boots to Dragon and then shoves Panda off the apron. Hallow tags Frightmare back in and the rudos whip Dragon into the ropes. They go for a double clothesline but Dragon ducks and hits a double dropkick for a nearfall. Panda tags in and hits a Scoop Slam on Hallowicked and then one for Frightmare slamming him on top of Hallow! Panda climbs up top and goes for a Moonsault on both rudos but they move out of the way. The rudos whip Panda into the ropes and Hallowicked lifts Panda up as Frightmare springboard off the top with a Guillotine Leg Drop as Hallowicked held Panda in the air for a nearfall! Frightmare hits a dropkick on Panda and then puts him in a chinlock as he rips on the mask of Panda. Frightmare taunts Panda by slapping him on the ass like he did earlier. Hallowicked tags back in and headbutts Panda following up with more strikes and another nearfall. Hallow elbows Panda and then tosses him into the corner and tags Frightmare. Frightmare beats on Panda before tagging Hallowicked right back in. Hallowicked hits a snapmare and then works on Panda with a chinlock. Panda fights out with elbows and then whips Hallow into the ropes and goes for a backdrop, but Hallow goes for a Sunset Flip only to eat a Cannonball from Panda! Frigtmare comes in as Hallow rolls out, of course lucha rules a tag is not necessary as long your partner leaves. Frightmare accidentally hits his partner and then gets backdropped over the top by Panda onto Hallow! Panda hits a Somersault Plancha onto Hallow and Frightmare off the apron! Dragon hits a Moonsault off the top onto the rudos! Panda hits the Panda Raid Crash on Hallow but eats a Crucifix Bomb from Frightmare! 1…2…NO Panda kicks out! Dragon comes in and the rudos whip him into the ropes! They hit the Go To Sleepy Hollow on Dragon! Hallowicked lifts Dragon up to the top and then they hit the Headless Horseman on Dragon! 1…2…NO Panda breaks it up! Hallow and Frightmare sandwich Panda in the corner with Enziguris and get another nearfall. They whip Panda into the corner again and then Frightmare goes for a Monkey Flip but Panda blocks it and then lifts Frightmare to the top. Panda lifts Hallow up to his shoulders and then Frightmare as well with a Double Panda Roll on them! Dragon hits a Double Frog Splash on the rudos and gets the pin!
Winners: Panda & Dragon via pinfall (Double Frog Splash)
(Terrific opener from both teams, Panda was very entertaining and Hallowicked/Frightmare were excellent as a team showing off plenty of double team moves. ***)
Dragon and Panda do the Gagnam Style dance together after the match.
Trios Match
3-Live Gringos (Papadon, Chuck Taylor, & Orange Cassidy) vs. Green Ant & The Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian)
Orange Cassidy brings tortillas to the ring and Papadon starts throwing them at the tecnicos before throwing them in the crowd. Green Ant, Amasis, and Ophidian are CHIKARA representatives as is Chuck Taylor who also works for Dragon Gate USA along with Orange Cassidy as The Gentlemen’s Club. This is the first time I’m getting a chance to see Amasis work since his severe neck injury a few years ago. Cassidy locks up with Green Ant but then just falls down as he is playing up that he doesn’t want to be in a Lucha show. Ant goes for a head kick but Cassidy ducks and rolls him up for a nearfall! Ant lights Cassidy up with chops and then hits a Snapmare and locks in a headlock followed by a modified Surfboard. Ant then locks Cassidy in a modified Rack until Cassidy rakes his eyes. Cassidy goes for an armdrag but Ant blocks it and whips Cassidy into the ropes. Cassidy rolls underneath a clothesline and then rolls backwards into a Spinning Headscissors Takeover! Cassidy goes for a Backslide but Green Ant blocks it. Cassidy shoves him into the corner and then charges but Ant counters into a modified 619 around the post! Ant hits a Slingshot Somersault Senton! Ant goes for a Catapult but Cassidy blocks it. Ant then counters into a Front Suplex followed by a sliding dropkick! Cassidy rolls out to the floor and Ant goes for a dive but Taylor rolls him up for a nearfall. Taylor tosses Ant to the floor and then Ophidian replaces him. Ophidian offers up a test of strength and Taylor gets the better of him but Ophidian counters into an armdrag. Taylor responds with a kick to the gut and whip to the corner. Ophidian headstands in the corner and then ducks a clothesline and follows up with a Back Handspring into a Spinning Armdrag! Ophidian hits a beautiful Corkscrew Armdrag off the ropes followed by a Springboard Cross Body! Taylor catches him but eats a dropkick from Amasis! Papadon comes in and the Portal whips him into the corner! They hit some crazy double teams on Papadon and then Ophidian hits a Wheel Barrow Armdrag sending Taylor to the floor! Amasis rolls Papadon up for a nearfall and then ducks several clotheslines with splits! Amasis hits a hurricanrana and a Monkey Flip! Papadon lands on his feet but then the Portal does the Snake Charm! Taylor and Cassidy snap him out of it but then they fall for it until Papadon Double German Suplexes The Portal! Taylor and Cassidy Double Chokeslam Ant! Taylor gets a nearfall on Amasis and then beats him down in the corner. Papadon tags into the match and hits a Snapmare followed by a Sliding Clothesline for a nearfall. Cassidy tags into the match and hits a snapmare followed by a Reverse Splash for another nearfall. He was playing up the fact that he doesn’t want to be here again. Taylor tags in and then hits a Cartwheel over the top rope into a Splash on Amasis. Taylor climbs up top and attempts a Moonsault, but Amasis moves out of the way and Taylor rolls out to the floor. Papadon comes in and eats a backdrop from Amasis. Ophidian comes in and hits a Running Elbow to Cassidy followed by a Spin Kick. Taylor kicks Ophidian and charges at Ophidian but Ophidian kicks him and then backflips over the top onto Cassidy! Green Ant with dropkicks to everyone followed by an Enziguri to Papadon! Ant hits a Double Jump Spinning DDT! Taylor kicks Ant and tosses him to the floor but then eats a Wheel Barrow Slam from Amasis! Amasis hits a Somersault Plancha onto Papadon on the floor and Ant hits a Frog Splash on Taylor! 1…2…NO Taylor kicks out! The tecnicos take turns attacking Taylor in the corner but then Taylor suplexes Ophidian into Amasis! Papadon suplexes Ant and then Cassidy dives off the top with a Splash on Ant for another nearfall! The rudos whip Ant into the corner and then whip each other into Ant! Ant ducks a clothesline from Papadon but then eats a Diving Uppercut off the top from Papadon! Ophidian dives off the top with knees onto Papadon and then Amasis hits a Bridging German Suplex on Taylor for a nearfall! Papadon kicks Amasis and then hits a Backbreaker on Ant! Papadon climbs up top but eats an Enziguri from Ophidian! Amasis puts Ophidian on his shoulders and then Superplexes Papadon off the top! Taylor and Cassidy hit a Michinoku Driver/Powerbomb combo on the Portal! Ant attacks both Taylor and Cassidy with Roaring Elbows! Taylor hits Soul Food on Ant and then holds him as Cassidy spits the Orange Mist! Ant ducks and he spits it in Taylor’s face! Ant hits a Driver on Cassidy and then Amasis and Ophidian climb to the top! The Portal dives off with the Osirian Sacrament for the pin!
Winners: Osirian Portal & Green Ant via pinfall (Osirian Sacrament)
(Excellent trios action with nonstop, fast paced action all over the place that was really hard to keep up with so I missed several spots. Great stuff to get the Philly crowd into that fast paced action. ***1/2)
Sean Waltman is introduced as a guest commentator for the next few matches.
Maestro Championship
Solar I vs. Negro Navarro (c)
Solar is wearing a cool Tiger Mask/Solar combo mask. Solar had a pretty well known feud with the original Tiger Mask in Japan in the 80’s. Negro Navarro is wearing an identical mask to the masks his sons, Los Traumas, wear. He will take it off for the match. This Championship is only for legendary luchadors in Mexico, most of them being trainers (or maestros). Negro takes off the mask as the match is getting ready to star as does Solar take off the combo mask revealing his usual mask. These guys are in terrific shape especially for their age. Solar and Negor lockup and Solar catches Negro with an armdrag. Another lockup leads to a Top Wristlock for Negro and he takes Solar down and then catches him with an armdrag of his own. Negro and Solar exchange wristlocks and then Solar trips Negro and puts him in an INSANE leg lock/armbar combo. Negro escapes and they stare each other down. Negro gets Soalr in a wristlock and takes Solar down and then puts him in an insane armlock using his legs. Solar reverses it into a submission as he is in a headstand on Negro’s chest! Negro counters into a Sunset Flip for a nearfall. Negro puts Solar in a Wristlock/Indian Death Lock combo, but Solar escapes and catches Negro with an armdrag. He transitions into a double wristlock/headscissors combo. Solar escapes as a “Mexico” chant starts up. Negro trips Solar and puts him in an ankle lock but Solar kicks him away and they exchange snapmares and armdrags. Solar puts on the La Magistral but Negro quickly escapes and counters into one of his own! They exchange several other insane pinning combos and then stare each other down again. Negro trips Solar and puts him a modified Figure Four but Solar is able to escape and counter into an insane rolling sequence that results into an Indian Death Lock. Negro gets to the ropes and then Negro gets Solar in a Top Wristlock and takes him down. Negro rolls him over and locks in an Armbar combo, but Solar reverses it into a wristlock of his own. Solar rolls Negro into a Rolling Shoulderlock! Negro gets to the ropes and takes Solar down with a top wristlock and then a wicked modified Keylock. Solar breaks it and Negro goes for a Triangle only for Solar to escape again. Negro puts Solar in the Mexican Surfboard! Solar is able to reverse it into a Mexican Surfboard of his own! He traps the shoulders for a nearfall but Negro kicks out. Negro takes Solar down again and puts him a weird submission/pin combo only for Solar to reverse the hold. Solar puts Negro in a standing submission and then attempts a Gutwrench, but Negro counters by lifting Solar into the air in a Hanging Kneebar! Solar counters into a Dragon Twist, but Negro counters into a nearfall. Negro rolls forward into a submission hold and counters into his own Dragon Twist. Solar counters into a Keylock and rolls Negro over into a nearfall. The crowd gives them a round of applause and Solar takes Negro down with a clothesline for a nearfall. Solar hits a Sunset Flip for a nearfall and then an Inside Cradle for another one. Negro gets back up and whips Solar into the corner and charges at him only for Solar to float over him into a rollup for another nearfall. Solar does the Rolling Pin for another nearfall. Negro takes Solar down and puts him in an inside modified Surfboard and bridges him into a nearfall of his own. Solar hits a Flying Headscissors for another nearfall and then attempts a clothesline, but Negro counters into a rollup for a nearfall of his own. Negro locks in a Rolling Keylock and Solar immediately taps!
Winner & STILL Maestro Champ: Negro Navarro via submission (Rolling Keylock)
(Excellent old school, submission style match. It’s completely different than anything else you will see on the card. The types of holds and submissions they are able to pull out is just jaw dropping. ****)
Some fans throw a bit of money in the ring and then Solar posses with a few kids at ringside for photos.
PWR Minis Championship
Mini Mariachi (c) vs. Pierrothito
Mini Mariachi is actually the original Octagoncito, just using a new gimmick that he started using in California’s PWR promotion. He is a former star from AAA while Pierrothito aka Pequeno Pierroth is a CMLL mainstay and was actually the Mexican National Lightweight Champion for almost 5 years before being stripped of the belt when he left CMLL. Pierrothito actually sings the Puerto Rican national anthem before Mariachi snatches the flag from him and teases Pierroth with it repeatedly. Mariachi then wipes his mini ass before throwing it at Pierroth. They lockup and they exchange holds and counters with each other. Mariachi frustrates Pierroth by escaping his pin attempts and holds. Pierroth hits the ropes and then they exchange armdrags before Mariachi sends Pierroth to the floor. Pierroth gets back in the ring and then Mariachi ducks a clothesline and taunts him with a little Mariachi style dancing. Pierroth gets pissed and chops him and then charges at him but Mariachi moves and Pierroth flies to the floor. Mariachi then dives off the apron for a hurricanrana, but Pierroth blocked it. It looked like he wanted to do a Powerbomb but either couldn’t hold him up or thought better of it because of the concrete floor. Back in the ring Mariachi hits a Sunset Flip but Pierroth rolls through and then catches Mariachi with a La Magistral Cradle for a nearfall. Pierroth hits a Brainbuster for a nearfall. Pierroth whips Mariachi into the corner and hits a Flying Clothesline followed by a Slingshot Somersault Senton Splash for another nearfall. Pierroth whips Mariachi into the opposite corner and charges again, but this time Mariachi moves and then climbs up top and dives off the top but slips. Pierroth whips Marchi into the ropes and Mariachi catches him with an armdrag that sends him to the floor. Mariachi hits a Tope Suicida through the ropes onto Pierroth on the floor! Pierroth comes back by slamming Mariachi hard to the floor! Mariachi climbs up top and dives off the top with a Flying Cross Body and then attempts a Spinning Headscissors but Pierroth catches him with a Tilt-A-Whirl Slam! 1…2…3! It looked like Mariachi may have actually kicked out, it was just an odd sequence. A Masked Republic representative comes and declares there will be 5 more minutes because of the finish. Pierroth hits a Suplex for a nearfall and then a Gorilla Press for another nearfall. Pierroth hits a Pump Handle Slam, 1…2…NO Mariachi kicks out! Pierroth goes for the Pump Handle again but Octagon counters into a Victory Roll for the pin!
Winner & STILL Minis Champ: Mariachi via pinfall (Victory Roll)
(That was just an odd match. I’ve seen both have great matches but this was not one of them. Something wasn’t clicking, Mariachi botched several spots including the first finish. **)
—-INTERMISSION BREAK—-
The stream has become pretty lousy during intermission, stopping and starting. It actually died completely for a few minutes before coming back up with audio and no video.
PWR Women’s Championship
Christina Von Eerie (c) vs. Sumie Sakai w/Jenny Rose
Sakai is playing the ruda with Von Eeire as the tecnica. Eerie has wrestled for promotions all over including TNA as Toxxic and AAA in Mexico. Sumei Sakai is a Japanese star that became known for actually wrestling men like Great Sasuke and Dick Togo. She is also a professional MMA fighter. The stream has become awful. The choppy stream is making it hard for me to keep up with anything. Eerie has the early advantage with a series of kicks and a nearfall. Sakai goes for a clothesline but Eerie counters with a Spinning Headscissors that sends Sakai to the floor. I think this the first time I’ve seen Christina without a Mohawk. She sets up for a dive but Sakai’s valet trips Christina and pulls her to the floor. Sakai slams Christian into the guardrail while Sakai’s valet throws tortillas at the fans. Hilarious a fan catches one and throws it back. Sakai has Christian in a headscissors on the mat as my stream comes back and then dies again. Sakai’s valet Rose chokes Christina in the ropes as Sakai distracts the referee. Sakai puts Christina in a Japanese Crab as the stream craps out again. This is getting frustrating. Christina dives off the top but I have no clue what she did because the stream died again. The feed comes back and Christina sets up for a dive to the floor and the stream dies again. We’re back and Christina hits a Spinning Enziguri and then a Flatliner. I have no clue what happened after that because the stream died yet again. The feed comes back and Von Eerie gets the pin.
Winner & STILL Women’s Champ: Von Eerie via pinfall
(I can’t give this match a grade or really review it because I probably saw a total of 3 minutes combined of the match. The stream issues have become massively frustrating and ruined that match.)
Cassandro vs. “The Spartan” Matt Cross
The stream is still pretty awful as the entrances for the next match take place. Some DJ from Philly comes out to talk about a bet they made for this match, but guess what? I have no idea what that bet is because the stream sucks. It’s pretty pathetic when you can’t see more than 20 seconds uninterrupted. It’s 2014 and companies like HighSpots are still having these types of issues? Unbelievable. The match is probably 3 or 4 minutes in and I haven’t seen one second of it. The stream has just completely died, says “offline.” I understand they are offering us 30 days VOD of the show, but this is just unreal. A graphic has appeared on the screen claiming connection issues in the ECW Arena. The stream finally comes back and Cassandro hits a hurricanrana for a nearfall. The stream dies again. The stream comes back with Cassandro getting the win.
Winner: Cassandro via pinfall
(Just like the women’s match I can’t review this match because I didn’t see it. It’s a damn shame too because Cassandro is incredibly entertaining as is Cross.)
I guess the bet for the match was that the radio personality had to kiss Cassandro’s hand and cheek which he agrees to but Cassandro kisses him on the lips to piss him off.
Trios Match
La Familia de Tijuana (Damian 666 & Bestia 666) & “The Homicidal, Genocidal, Suicidal” Sabu vs. BLK OUT (Ruckus & BLK Jeez) & “Notorious 1-8-7” Homicide
Homicide is replacing Luke Hawx who was originally scheduled to be teaming with BLK OUT in this match. Sabu gets the massive reaction you would expect at the ECW Arena. All 6 men begin brawling as the bell rings. Sabu destroys Ruckus with a chair to the face! Bestia and Jeez go at it in the ring. Bestia takes Jeez over with a hurricanrana and then a huge Superkick! Bestia hits a Standing Moonsault for a nearfall. Bestia and Jeez leave the ring and are replaced by Damian and Homicide. Damian puts Homicide on the top and slaps him hard, but Homicide dives off with a Flying Shoulder Block. Homicide hits a Spinning Headscissors on Damian sending him to the floor and then sets up for a dive only to eat a chair from Sabu! Ruckus comes in and gets clotheslined by Sabu. Sabu follows up with a Somersault Guillotine Leg Drop over the top for a nearfall. Sabu attempts another clothesline but Ruckus ducks and hits a Superkick of his own. Ruckus sweeps the legs of Sabu and hits a Standing Moonsault for a nearfall. Ruckus climbs up top but Sabu crotches him and then climbs up with Ruckus and hits a Frankensteiner off the top! Sabu grabs a chair and goes for the Arabian Facebuster off the top, but Ruckus moves and covers Sabu for a nearfall. Jeez tags into the match and hits a Scoop Slam followed by an Elbow Drop for another nearfall. Damian comes in and starts exchanging chops with Jeez! Damian pokes Jeez in the eyes and then whips him into the ropes and attempts a backdrop, but Jeez clotheslines him and then hits the ropes only to eat a clothesline. Sabu throws a chair at Jeez’s face. Homicide attacks Damian from behind and double teams him with Jeez. The rudos whip Damian into the corner and take turns with splashes capped off by a Handspring into a Back Elbow from Ruckus! Homicide hits the Three Amigos on Bestia and then dares Sabu to come in which Sabu obliges him. Homicide clotheslines Sabu and then wedges a chair in the corner. Sabu kicks Homicide and whips him into the chair! Sabu sets up the chair and then dives off with the Air Sabu! Jeez grabs the chair and hits Sabu with it but Bestia comes in and attacks Jeez! Bestia eats a knee from Jeez as Damian and Sabu bring a table into the ring. Bestia counters a clothesline into a Bestia Driver! 1…2…NO Ruckus breaks it up! Ruckus Scoop Slams Bestia and then hits a beautiful Split Legged Corkscrew Moonsault! 1…2…NO Sabu breaks up the count! Damian and Ruckus exchange forearms and then Damian holds him as Sabu belts Ruckus. Sabu puts Ruckus in the Camel Clutch! Jeez breaks up the hold and Bestia offers a handshake to Ruckus only to get poked in the eyes by Ruckus. Ruckus Scoop Slams Bestia and then does a Big Swing on Bestia! Damian comes in and backdrops Ruckus over the top. Homicide accidentally kicks Ruckus off the apron and then Bestia hits a Tope Suicida through the ropes onto Jeez! Damian hits a Tope Suicida through the ropes onto Ruckus! Homicide puts Sabu on the top rope but Sabu pushes him off and then throws a chair at him! Homicide falls onto the table and Sabu hits the Arabian Facebuster through the table! 1…2…3!
Winners: Sabu, Damian, & Bestia via pinfall (Arabian Facebuster)
(A wild brawl which was at its most entertaining when Bestia was in the match with any of the other opponents. Sabu and Damian are past their prime and have beaten to a pulp bodies. Still a fun match. ***)
Damian cuts a promo in Spanish to the crowd thanking them. Sabu and Damian hug as they have a long history. Damian actually fell down the steps as he was leaving the ring and I think he may have injured his knee. Sabu and Bestia help him to the back.
Main Event
Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. L.A. Park
Sean Waltman comes back out to join commentary for the Main Event. Parka is wearing a La Parka apron, seriously. Wagner is carrying a title and I see “IWL” on it but I’m not sure what IWL Title Wagner holds? Does IWL even still exist? These two not only have a lot of history together but individually are two of the biggest stars in Mexico and possibly ever. Parka is more known for his time in WCW by American fans but became huge in Mexico after the match. Both are very rich in family heritage in Lucha as well. Park’s uncle is the original Volador as well as being known as Super Parka, his cousin is Volador Jr. in CMLL. Wagner’s father is the legendary original Dr. Wagner. Park cuts a promo before the match in Spanish. Pretty sure it was something not very nice as Waltman said he wouldn’t repeat what he just said. I did catch “puta de madre” (son of a bitch) in there. He then cut a promo in English asking the fans who came here to see Wagner and then who here came for Parka. Wagner cuts a promo and then slaps Park and knocks him out of the ring. Wagner eats a series of armdrags from Parka as he comes back in the ring. Parka follows up with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and then dances for the crowd. Parka shoves Wagner into the ropes and attempts a clothesline, but Wagner ducks and then ducks a spin kick and connects with a Flying Clothesline for a nearfall. Wagner attempts another clothesline and then connects with a Cross Body Block for another nearfall. Wagner flips off the referee for not counting three. Parka answers with a series of armdrags but misses a third one and then eats a kick to the head from Wagner! Wagner does some pushups to taunt Parka and then hits a Snap Suplex! Wagner climbs up top but gets crotched by Parka and hangs him upside down. Park puts the boots to Wagner and then climbs up top and dives off only to eat a boot from Wagner. Wagner hits a Roundhouse Kick and Parka rolls out to the floor. Wagner hits the Rolling Senton of the apron and lands on Parka on the floor. Wagner may have hit his foot on the guardrail as he grabs it immediately after landing. Wagner tosses Parka back in the ring and lights him up with chops. Parka ducks one and then actually blesses Wagner before chopping him! Wagner comes back with a Dragonscrew Legwhip on Parka and then locks in a modified Figure Four! Parka gets the ropes and then Wagner charges at Parka only to get catapulted into the turnbuckles. Parka charges at Wagner but Wagner drop toeholds him into the turnbuckles. Wagner kicks Parka repeatedly and then charges at him only to eat a Snap Powerslam from Parka! 1…2…NO Wagner kicks out! Parka whips Wagner into the corner and then connects with a clothesline. Parka hits an Overdrive for another nearfall. Parka hangs Wagner up in the ropes and chops him repeatedly followed by a Cartel Kick! Wagner falls to the floor and Parka dives through the ropes with a Tope Suicida onto Wagner on the floor! Park and Wagner roll back into the ring and Park gets a chair from a fan! Parka plays air guitar on it and then nails Wagner with it! Parka hits a Pump Handle Slam for another nearfall! Parka leg kicks Wagner and then hangs him up in the ropes and connects with a Lung Buster! 1…2…NO Wagner kicks out! Parka shoves the referee into a Sunset Flip on Wagner and he actually does the flip and Parka makes a three count in a hilarious moment! Wagner gets pissed at the referee for pinning him and then hits a nasty Spike DDT on Parka! 1…2…NO Parka kicks out! Wagner hits a Sunset Flip Bomb on Parka, 1…2…NO Parka kicks out! Wagner backdrops Parka over the top and Parka lands on the apron only to eat a big knee lift as Parka tried to climb back into the ring! Wagner hits a Hanging DDT on the ropes! 1…2…NO Parka still kicks out! Wagner whips Parka into the ropes and attempts a clothesline but Parka ducks and connects with a huge Spear! 1…2…NO Wagner kicks out! Parka slams Wagner into the turnbuckles and then climbs up top and drags Wagner with him! Wagner manages to Superplex Parka back into the ring and now both men are down! Wagner covers Parka and gets another nearfall! Wagner starts to rip off Parka’s mask but Parka stops Wagner by slapping him in the face! Wagner kicks Parka and causes the mask to fly off! Parka is able to cover himself back up and Wagner dives off the top with a Somersault Senton, but Parka rolls out of the way and then tries to rip Wagner’s mask off! Parka pulls off his own belt and starts beating Wagner in the back with it! Parka covers Wagner for a nearfall and then does his Parka dance. Parka attempts a Running Dropkick in the corner but Wagner moves and then hits Parka with the belt! Wagner climbs up top and dives off with the Frog Splash! 1…2…NO and during the kick out the referee got hit! Parka fouls Wagner and then snatches Wagner’s mask off but then Wagner quickly rolls Parka up, 1…2…3!
Winner: Wagner via pinfall (rollup)
(A really fun, entertaining match that the crowd seemed to eat up especially all of Parka’s antics. I’ve seen them have better matches but this was fun nonetheless. The referee sunset flip spot was really fun and when they got down to the serious wrestling it was really good. ****)
Minus the frustrating stream issues the show was really fun throughout. I will have to go back and watch the Women’s Match and the Cassandro bout but everything I saw was really good outside of the minis which just seemed to be an off night for those two. The fans really seemed to enjoy it and were very respectful, especially to the legends.
