Global Spectrum at the General Motors Centre will organize an attempt at breaking the world record for the longest thumb wrestling chain in an effort to secure a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) event.

The current record is set by the Junior Chamber International Osaka in Japan with 957 participants who played thumb wrestling simultaneously in a continuous chain for 5 minutes. On Saturday, January 18, 2014, Global Spectrum at the General Motors Centre will attempt to break that record with the help of Durham Region residents and WWE fans.

Fans of all ages are encouraged to dress up as their favourite wrestlers or to bring signs with them to let the WWE know why they should return to Oshawa. If Oshawa secures a WWE show in 2014/2015, participants will be entered to win VIP packages and tickets to the show.
