We’re brought into the arena to see the ring surrounded by tables, ladders, and chairs. The WWE Championship and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship are also hanging above the ring.

The Real Americans make their entrance with Zeb Colter, and they get in the ring. Colter grabs a microphone, and he says earlier today he walked around this god forsaken town, and out of nowhere, this big, fat, bearded freak appears in front of him dressed as Santa Claus. His hand was held out, and he looked him dead in the eyes as he said, “Feliz Navidad.” Colter thought to himself that here is a man speaking a foreign language begging for money from a hard working American. To him, that sounds like an illegal immigrant. Colter says, “Let me tell you something, Señor Claus. If I could deport you, I would. Since I can’t, I don’t like people sneaking across the borders, especially from the North Pole.” Colter then asks everyone to put their hands over their hearts as they say, “We the people!”

John Cena address the Champion of Champions match

John Cena, WWE World Heavyweight Champion, makes his way to the ring. His championship is hanging above the ring alongside the WWE Championship. Cena receives a great reception from the Portland crowd. Cena says things are heating up. The WWE Universe is still buzzing after Monday Night RAW. The undeniable energy in the arena that night has carried over to Portland. They made history on Monday. For the first time ever, the WWE Champion and the World Heavyweight Champion willingly gave away their titles. Cena points to them above the ring. Cena says those two titles are trophies men have worked their entire lives for. 99% of all WWE superstars will never hold on to one of those championships, so why did they give theirs away? It’s because of the moment. This Sunday, the moment, history, and impact will be monumental. It’s so obvious that even a crybaby simpleton like Randy Orton knows that this needs to happen. The sad thing is, Orton isn’t going to know what it takes to make that happen.

Cena has known Orton for twelve years. Along those years, he’s had runs where he actually called Orton a friend, and that means he knows what he’s capable of. Orton is brutal, physical, conniving, and calculating. He inflicts pain. Orton is what he says he is. Orton is the Apex Predator. In twelve years, you learn a man’s strengths, but also his weaknesses. Cena says Orton has a glass jaw. Orton doesn’t like to be hit too much. Anytime things don’t go Orton’s way, he runs and hides. This Sunday, there is nowhere to run or hide. What is going to happen when he falls off a ladder and his eyes swell shut? What will he do when a steel chair is wrapped around his back, causing his spine to tingle and his hands to go numb? What will happen when Orton crashes through a table, and his body feels like it won’t move? Cena says he’ll crash through the table and get back up. Cena says he was built to fight the Apex Predator and take the beating of a lifetime. Cena says he never gives up, and this Sunday, he will get back up.

Cena says Orton is great, but this Sunday is where he will fail. There will come a point when he’ll be hurt and broken, and he’ll have to make a choice. Will he keep going or will he do what he’s done for the past twelve years – make an excuse and take the easy way out. This Sunday, Orton will make that choice, and he’ll show the world what he already knows – Randy Orton doesn’t have the nuts. This Sunday, the WWE crowns one champion. That Champ is here!

Randy Orton issues a public apology to The Authority

WWE Champion Randy Orton comes out looking a little stressed out as the crowd boos him. Orton stands in the ring with his head hung low. Orton says an unspeakable accident took place on Monday Night RAW. It was supposed to be an historic night. The Championship Ascension Ceremony was taking place, but it broke down into a melee that caused Stephanie McMahon to be trampled. Orton cannot get that image out of his head. He’s just thankful that she’s ok. That’s why he’s out here right now. He wants to apologize to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, but he wants to do it face to face.

Triple H’s music hits, and the WWE COO makes his way to the ring in a suit, but no tie. Triple H doesn’t take his eyes off Orton the whole way down to the ring. Orton says he has been to hell and back with Triple H as enemies and friends. Triple H knows him better than anyone else. Orton says what happened to Stephanie on RAW was an accident. If there is any doubt in his mind, then he should see the footage. A replay is shown of the brawl at the end of RAW that saw Stephanie McMahon get knocked down by Orton after Daniel Bryan pushed him into her. Orton says if Triple H still doubts him, then he has more footage from a different angle in slow motion. A slow motion shot of the scene from another angle is shown. Orton says a lot of things went wrong that night, and many people have many things to apologize about. Orton says he’d like Triple H and his wife to accept his humble apology.

Triple H says if Orton called him out to show him some footage, he’s already seen it. Those are his cameras. A lot of things did go wrong on Monday night, but he’s not one of those people that have something to apologize about. He’s The Authority so he doesn’t have anything to apologize about ever. Triple H says he could fire Orton for this. A big “YES!” chant breaks out. Triple H says he won’t do that because it’s not what is best for business. Because a lot of things went wrong on RAW, for this one time, and there will not be a second time, he will accept the apology. Orton thanks him.

Orton says he knows that Triple H has his back, but after Monday night, he looked up and saw something. He wants Triple H to respond. The footage is shown of John Cena standing with The Authority while helping Stephanie McMahon up. Orton asks what he’s supposed to think. Orton says he is Triple H’s man. When he beats John Cena this Sunday at WWE TLC, every superstar in the back, past and present, will know that he is the greatest of the great. When he beats John Cena, he will be the Champion of Champions. What Orton needs to know is if The Authority has the same amount of faith as he has in himself? Triple H chuckles and tells him not to worry about it. Triple H shakes Orton’s hand, and he says they know exactly where their faith lies. Triple H then leaves the ring as Orton looks confused once again.
