This past week Wrestling Observer reported that Dr. Wagner Jr. had once again left AAA after just returning last month, and he’s been taken off all upcoming show lineups as well as his bio being removed from AAA’s roster page on their website.

Olimpico’s Son Debuting for CMLL?
This week a lineup for CMLL’s 07/28 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara event was revealed with a new luchador called “Super Popular” in the Main Event. The luchador is wearing a very similar mask to Olimpico and it’s believed that this is actually a young luchador called Exodia who is the real life son of Olimpico. Exodia suffered a severe leg injury in 2010 and it was believed he would never be able to wrestle again. CMLL Vacates Title
This week CMLL announced that the Mexican National Lightweight Championship has been vacated. Pierrothito was the last champion winning it back in 2008 and not having defended it since April of 2012. CMLL has not stated why Pierrothito was stripped of the belt and it isn’t known at this time whether he has left CMLL or is injured or anything else that may have happened. The new champion will be crowned in a Tournament that will feature two Ciberneticos with the winner of each facing off in a Final. The first Cibernetico will take place next week pitting Bam Bam, Electrico, Shockercito, Pequeno Halcon, Pequeno Violencia, & Mercurio against each other.

Pesadilla, Dual Force (Sugi San), Ricky Marvin, & Super Crazy continued their tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH as part of the Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Tournament this week. Pesadilla & Dual Force only had one match left in the Tournament when Dual Force suffered a knee injury and was forced to pull out of the tournament eliminating he & Pesadilla. Dual Force (Sugi San) has had several knee injuries in his career. Pesadilla is continuing on with the tour in Non-Tournament matches. He challenged Ricky Marvin for the XNL Title on 07/24 but failed to win it though it was said to have been a pretty good match.

Alberto del Rio’s Brother Released
This week the WWE released the brother of World Heavyweight Champion Alberto del Rio (formerly known as Dos Caras Jr. in CMLL) known in WWE’s developmental territory NXT as “Memo Montenegro.” The 6’1″, 233 lb. Montenegro supposedly wrestled under the gimmick Dark Phoenix before coming to WWE (but I have no recollection of ever seeing that name or gimmick) and signed with WWE in 2012. It’s possible that he could return to Mexico soon to try and make a name for himself in Lucha Libre like his brother or try to make it elsewhere in America or Japan. In an interview with the Miami Herald last year he claimed that he was about to start working for CMLL when he got his WWE tryout. He’s only 24 years old.
Ricky Marvin Retiring?
This week Ricky Marvin took to his Twitter to say that he would be retiring soon from wrestling completely. Now this could be a situation of Marvin in a bad mood (which seems to be alot via his Twitter) and venting or he really is retiring which would be unfortunate.

– Dragon Gate announced this week the new stipulation match in the Main Event would be called The Gate To Heaven Match and the added stipulation is that no matter what it will be 3 Falls rather than 2 out of 3 Falls. If one of the teams wins all 3 falls then each member of the team will be awarded any match they want in the future. The first fall will be a standard 6-Man Tag Team Match with two referees strictly enforcing tags. The 2nd Fall will be Dragon Gate/Lucha rules where tags are not needed.
