Fresh off the heels of this past Sunday’s “Slammiversary” tonight’s Impact opens up with highlights from the PPV. At ringside Tenay hypes up the signing of Rampage Jackson and then Aces & Eights’ music hits. The World Champion Bully Ray makes his way down to the ring fresh off his successful title defense against Sting. Bully stops in the aisle way and looks down at what I thought was a small child until I realized this person has a full on beard, what the hell? Bully heckles Tenay as he comes to the ring.
Bully says that it’s obvious everyone is happy to see him and then he introduces himself as the guy that defeated Sting at Slammiversary. Bully says Slammiversary hasn’t been kind to Sting and reminds us that last year’s Slammiversary was the first time Sting got jumped by Aces & Eights. Bully says he “singlehandedly” beat Sting and now the rumor is that Sting might retire. Bully says TNA has no more heroes because he’s destroyed them all. Bully says nobody can do a damn thing about it so there is only one thing left to do, put Bully in the Hall of Fame. Bully says Dixie Carter needs to “get out of the mirror for 5 minutes” and come down to the ring, but before he can say anything else Hogan’s music interrupts him.
Hogan is wearing a glove over his burned hand. He says it sounds like they’re in Hulkamania country but he does have to give the devil his due. He says Bully was on the top of his game Sunday night but says it was really ALL the members of Aces & Eights that beat Sting. Hogan then asks Ray if he really just heard him say there is no more competition left and Ray says he knows damn well he heard it. Hogan says he begs to differ with Bully because all Summer long the competition is going to be hot because the BFG Series will be going down. He says next week the list of wrestlers for the BFG Series will be announced on the “Official Selection Show” (think the official Selection Show NCAA does for the NCAA Tournament or the BCS does for the BCS Bowl Games). Hogan says that’s not all because tonight it will be Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy!
Hardy comes out onto the stage and looks down at Bully as Bully freaks out. Hardy climbs into the ring and Bully retreats and says Hogan can’t just do that. A MASSIVE “Hardy” chant erupts and Hogan says as the GM he can do whatever the hell he wants and since this is Jeff’s first match back on Impact he wants to make Hardy feel real at home. Hogan says that Ray doesn’t have to worry because the title won’t be on the line but to make Hardy feel at home there WILL be a monster ladder in the ring! Hogan says just like last time they fought in a Ladder Match there will be something hanging on the line. Hogan says that something will be the thing that Ray used to screw both Hardy & Sting over…a hammer! Hardy raises the hammer and Hogan says whoever retrieves the hammer can use it in the match (he actually said “as a ladder hangs from the ceiling” but yeah you get the point).
A video package hyping up the BFG Series is shown.
In the back Chavo & Hernandez talk about their title loss at Slammiversary. Chavo says that he and Hernandez have both been added to the BFG Series and says this is what it’s all about, a shot at the World Title. Hernandez thanks Chavo for teaching him the “Guerrero Way” but Chavo says he hasn’t taught him everything and then walks away without shaking Hernandez’s outstretched hand.

BFG Series Qualifying Match
“Mexican Warrior” Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs. “Super Mex” Hernandez
The former Tag Team Champions face off here with a spot in the BFG Series on the line. The Spanish Announce Team are shown as Chavo makes his way to the ring. They give each other a fist bump and then lockup and Chavo quickly gets Hernandez in a waistlock. Chavo goes for a Snapmare Takeover but Hernandez shoves him into the ropes and takes him down with a shoulder block. Hernandez gets Chavo in a wristlock but Chavo rolls through and into a reversal followed by a nice armdrag. They lockup again and Hernandez forces Chavo into the corner but as Hernandez releases clean Chavo nails him with a series of European Uppercuts. Hernandez shoves Chavo away and then charges at him but Chavo sidesteps him and then goes for a Monkey Flip. Hernandez blocks it but then walks into a dropkick from Chavo. Chavo gets a nearfall and then puts Hernandez in an armlock. Hernandez powers out with a slam and then goes for a Splash, but Chavo moves out of the way and hits a Somersault Senton for another nearfall. Chavo puts Hernandez in an armlock and also a bodyscissors at the same time. Hernandez rolls over and then deadlifts Chavo up into the arm and puts him on the top rope. Chavo kicks Hernandez away and then dives off the top but Mex catches him in midair and tosses him to the side. Hernandez hits a clothesline and then a double sledge. Hernandez follows up with a Corner Splash and then an Over the shoulder Backbreaker! 1…2…NO Chavo gets his feet on the ropes. Hernandez whips Chavo into the corner and then goes for another Splash, but Chavo backdrops him over the top. Hernandez lands on the apron and then nails Chavo with a shoulder block through the ropes followed by a Slingshot Shoulder Block attempt over the top, but Chavo ducks out of the way. Chavo then goes for the Three Amigos but Hernandez blocks it. Hernandez attempts to whip Chavo into the corner but Chavo reverses it and hits a Rolling Liger Kick! Chavo climbs up top and dives off with the Frog Splash, but Hernandez gets his knees up! Hernandez goes for the Border Toss but Chavo counters into a rollup! Hernandez reverses it and stacks Chavo up! 1…2…3!
Winner: Hernandez via pinfall (rollup)
Hernandez offers a handshake after the match and this time Chavo accepts it.
Rampage Jackson is shown arriving at the arena. Rampage shakes hands with James Storm & Gunner as he arrives.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Devon comes down to the ring and says all the jackasses in Georgia better know that when he gets in the ring they need to sit down and shut up. Devon says Abyss has something that he stole from Devon at Slammiversary (TV Title) and that it wasn’t a sanctioned match so he is going to give Abyss once chance to come down to the ring and give him what belongs to him. Instead Joseph Park comes down and says that he doesn’t know if Devon is hard of hearing or not but everyone in Georgia would be so happy if Devon just shut up.
Park says what Devon and Aces & Eights did to him Sunday was “first degree robbery” robbing him of his shot at gold. He says that he is done being bullied and he is going to do what his brother Abyss did at Slammiversary and whoop Devon’s… and then Park takes Devon down! Park punches Devon repeatedly and then hits a clothesline! Park shoves Devon down again and then goes for another clothesline but eats a clothesline from Devon! Devon hits Park with the microphone and then puts the boots to him. Devon hits Park with right hand after right hand knocking him out of the ring. Devon slams Park into the ring post and then grabs a chair from ringside. Devon goes to hit Park with the chair but Abyss’ music hits and Devon slides back in the ring. Devon dares Abyss to come down but he doesn’t. Devon says that if Abyss doesn’t want to come out to the ring then “I’ll find yo ass bitch.” Park is shown bleeding at ringside from the mouth. Park sees the blood and then starts to lose his damn mind.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Backstage Knux & Devon are searching for Abyss.
Robbie E comes down to the ring and says that it’s no secret in the 2012 BFG Series he was the MVP. Robbie reminds us that he beat Jeff Hardy (by countout) and that he got 5 points. He says that tonight after he wins his Qualifying Match for the 2013 BFG Series then sky is the limit for him. He says he might even get 10 or 20 points this time. Robbie says whoever his opponent is… “oooooh! You’re going down, bro.” Samoa Joe’s music hits and then Robbie’s Death Warrant is signed.
BFG Series Qualifying Match
Robbie E vs. “Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe
As Joe gets in the ring I think maybe Robbie was a little too fired up as he charged right at Joe and got kicked right in the face. Joe destroys Robbie in the corner with a series of jabs followed by stomps. Joe lights Robbie up with a chop and then whips him into the opposite corner. Joe comes flying in with a Back Elbow and then a Leaping Enziguri! Joe lifts Robbie up to the top rope and attempts the Muscle Buster but Robbie rakes his eyes and then feverishly punches Joe. Robbie then flies off the top but Joe just nonchalantly moves out of the way as Robbie eats the mat. Joe then hits a Flying Knee followed by a snapmare and then a slap to the back and a round kick to the chest. Joe then hits a Knee Drop and lifts Robbie up to the top and drops him with the Muscle Buster! Joe locks Robbie in the Coquina Clutch and he immediately taps!
Winner: Joe via submission (Coquina Clutch)

Clips of what went down last week with the Knockouts is shown focusing on Mickie’s lack of help for Velvet as Gail jumped her. Mickie approaches Velvet backstage and mockingly shows the TNA Lottery Ticket with Velvet on it and reminds her that Gail is on there too. Mickie half heartedly apologizes for not helping Velvet last week and says that before she could do anything Taryn ran out and stole her “day saving” moment. Velvet says that it is what it is and it looks like Mickie is ready to go tonight then they should have their rematch tonight. Mickie says “about that” she already talked to Brooke tonight and she is going to have a match with someone that Velvet “overlooked” as champion but when Velvet is healthy THEN they can do the rematch. Velvet says she’s healthy now but Mickie cuts her off and leaves. Velvet knocks stuff off a table as Mickie leaves the room smiling.
Tenay & Taz hype up the replays of Slammiversary all month and then the video package highlighting Kurt Angle’s induction into the Hall of Fame shown at Slammiversary is shown again.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
JB is in the ring and hypes up the signing up Rampage. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson makes his way down to the ring but he comes out (to my disappointment) to some generic music (with a wolf howl) instead of the Al Kapone song “You Ain’t Stoppin Me” that he came out to in UFC. JB welcomes Rampage to Impact and he says that a lot of people don’t realize how much of a wrestling fan he was growing up. He says that’s why he started out doing all the big slams in his fights until he got “addicted to knocking people out.” Rampage says he wants to be the best in TNA but to be the best he knows that he has to beat the best. Kurt Angle’s music interrupts him and the Hall of Famer makes his way down to the ring. Rampage mean mugs him the whole way.
Kurt and Rampage stare each other down and then Kurt gets in his face and says if Rampage wants to beat the best then he doesn’t have to look any further because he’s looking right at him. Kurt says Rampage may be the best in the cage but this is Kurt’s ring and his world. Kurt says that someday when Rampage THINKS he’s ready he will have to go through him and “that is REAL…DAMN REAL!” Rampage and Kurt stare each other down but then Kurt offers his hand. Rampage accepts it but then pulls Kurt close to him and gets in his face and talks trash to Kurt as Kurt doesn’t back down.
As Kurt & Rampage leave (separately) the announcers hype up the Ladder Match later.
In the back Jeff Hardy says he’s back and on his first night back on Impact it’s time for revenge.
3 of the new champions crowned at Slammiversary (Gunner, James Storm, & Chris Sabin) are shown walking backstage.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Backstage Bully & Mr. Anderson talk. Bully asks Anderson if he’s seen D-Lo Brown and Anderson says he hasn’t and he thinks he has a headache which causes Bully to laugh. Bully says the best thing to happen to the club is them getting rid of him. Anderson reminds Bully that the VP slot is open now and Bully asks him if he has any suggestions. Bully then bitches about having to face Hardy in a Ladder Match again. Bully says he’s already climbed a ladder and bashed Hardy in the head with a hammer so why is Hogan risking taking the most beloved guy in TNA and putting him in a Ladder Match to possibly get taken out. Bully asks why Aces & Eights doesn’t have anyone in the BFG Series and he’s going to take care of that right now. Anderson asks Ray if he thinks he’ll need any assistance tonight and Ray says that a good VP would be able to make that call.
6-Man Tag Team Match
The Dirty Heels & Kenny King vs. “Cowboy” James Storm, Gunner, & Chris Sabin
Tenay mentions that this is a match pitting 3 men that lost title matches (Aries, Roode, & King) against 3 men that WON title matches (Sabin, Gunner, & Storm) at Slammiversary. Some shots of the Ultimate X Match are shown as the champs team come down to the ring. King and Sabin will start this one off. King kicks Sabin and then puts him in a wristlock, but Sabin counters into an armdrag and then hits a second armdrag followed by a third. Sabin locks King in an armbar but King shoves Sabin into the ropes. Sabin catches King with a Spinning Headscissors that sends King into the babyface corner where Storm & Gunner take turns punching him. Sabin chops King and then King bails out of the ring as Roode & Aries attack Sabin from behind. Gunner & Storm come in and catch Aries & Roode with Double Back Elbows. Aries & Roode retreat to the floor with King but Sabin dives over the top with a Slingshot Plancha onto the heels! Sabin tosses King back in the ring and then he lifts King up on his shoulders for the Cradle Shock, but King blocks it and then shoves him into the ropes where Aries trips him. King charges at him but Sabin kicks him only to get hit from behind by Aries again. King chokes Aries and then tags Roode into the match. Roode slams Sabin into the turnbuckles and then chops him. Roode hits a Vertical Suplex and then a Knee Drop for a nearfall. Roode attempts to whip Sabin into the ropes but Sabin reverses it and goes for a backdrop. Roode counters with a Sunset Flip but Sabin rolls through and tags Storm in! Storm ducks a clothesline from Roode and then knocks Aries & King off the apron before decking Roode with a series of rights. Storm whips Roode into the ropes and tosses him with a Hip Toss followed by an Atomic Drop and then an uppercut! Storm charges Roode in the corner but he backdrops Storm over the top. Storm lands on the apron and nails Roode in the back with a Leaping Enziguri! Storm ducks a clothesline from King and then decks him but Aries pokes him in the eyes and nails him with a jawbreaker. Roode hits a dropkick and then tags Aries into the match. Roode catapults Storm into a Forearm Smash from Aries and then holds Storm over his knees as Aries flies over the top with a Slingshot Corkscrew Elbow! 1…2…NO Storm kicks out! Aries rakes Storm’s eyes as a big “Austin Aries’ chant starts. Aries chops away at Storm and then he rakes Storm’s eyes on the top rope. Roode tags back in and then he decks Storm before tagging King. King hit’s a Scoop Slam followed by a Springboard Guillotine Leg Drop for a nearfall. Aries tags back in and kicks Storm before slamming him into the outstretched boot of Roode. Roode tags in and then Dirty Heels whip Storm into the ropes and attempt a Double Backdrop, but Storm stops and kicks Roode. Storm then tosses Aries right into Roode’s nuts! Storm gets back to his feet and makes the hot tag to Gunner as a “we want Gunner” chant starts. King tags in as well but eats a Back Elbow from Gunner followed by a clothesline. Gunner headbutts Aries and then tosses King into him and hits a Running Knee to them followed by a Slingshot Suplex off the ropes to King! 1…2…NO Dirty Heels break it up! They toss Gunner into the corner and then Roode whips Aries into an attempt at the IED but Gunner shrugs Aries off sending him flying over the top rope to the floor! Roode then charges at Gunner but eats a boot. Gunner charges at him but Roode catches him with the Double-R Spinebuster! Storm flies in with a Neckbreaker on Roode but Aries comes flying out of nowhere with a Missile Dropkick off the top to Storm! Aries sets up for the Heat Seeking Missile as Storm falls to the outside but eats an Enziguri from Sabin! King goes for a Spinning Heel Kick but Sabin ducks and then hits a Springboard Flying Tornado DDT! Sabin then drops King with the All Hail Sabin (Cradle Michinoku Driver)! 1…2…3!
Winners: Storm, Gunner, & Sabin via pinfall (All Hail Sabin)
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Backstage Devon & Knux continue to hunt for Abyss.
Clips of the insane Last Knockout Standing Match at Slammiversary are shown. Both girls took some sick bumps in that match. I said it Sunday night (on Twitter) and I still feel this way, that was the most brutal Knockouts match I’ve seen since Gail & Awesome Kong had the Street Fight years ago. Backstage Brooke talks to Taryn and says that people are still talking about her match with Gail. She says she had no idea that “sweet little ref” she hired was going to be running with one of the best wrestlers in the world. She calls Gail a badass but Taryn says she had everything coming to her. Taryn asks Brooke if she is still in love with Bully but Brooke says they need to keep this discussion about wrestling.
Non-Title Match
“Hardcore Country” Mickie James vs. Taeler Hendrix
This is the first time we’ve seen Taeler in a while and yes she is still as hot as ever. Something about that broad, good lord. Mickie mockingly claps as Taeler comes to the ring. They lockup and Mickie forces Taeler into the corner but releases clean and gives her a thumbs up and claps for her. The sarcasm is just oozing out of Mickie right now. They lockup and this time Taeler controls Mickie with a wristlock but Mickie cartwheels into a reversal. Taeler counters into a Fireman’s Cary Takeover. Mickie gets a little irritated at that but gives her a thumbs up again and claps for her. Mickie gets Taeler in a side headlock this time and as Taeler tries to shove her into the ropes Mickie holds onto it as she drops to her knee. Finally Taeler shoves Mickie into the ropes only to eat a shoulder block from Mickie. The fans then erupt into a hilarious “Cena sucks” chant. Mickie hits the ropes and cartwheels over Taeler as she drops down and then attempts a clothesline but Taeler avoids it by kind of matrixing backwards. Taeler then hits a dropkick for a nearfall. Now a big “YES” chant starts up. Mickie offers Taeler a handshake and then puts her in a waistlock. Taeler reverses it but Mickie tosses her into the ropes and then Mickie charges at her, but Taeler swings her leg through the ropes and around into a kick to the gut. Taeler climbs up top but Mickie sells a knee injury and grabs ODB as she complains about it. Taeler gets pissed and drops down but as she goes to see what’s up Mickie decks her. Mickie then hits the Mick Kick as the fans chant “you got bitch slapped.” 1…2…3.
Winner: Mickie via pinfall (Mick Kick)
Devon and Knux think they’ve found Abyss and Devon is going to sneak up on him as he tells Knux to wait as he checks to see if it’s him. Someone then sneaks up behind Knux and drags him away! Devon comes back and suddenly the TV Title is slid in front of him from the shadows. Knux then goes flying into a wall and Abyss walks up behind Devon! Abyss decks Devon and then slams him into the wall! Abyss picks up the TV Title and says he’s “taking this belt…INTO THE ABYSS!”
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Clips of the TNA Title Match between Bully & Sting are shown. Sting’s tweet from earlier today is shown where he said “Sunday I was left to fight alone…message received.” Tenay says that Sting will be here next week to address his future. Also, next week AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle in a BFG Series Qualifier! Bad Influence vs. Storm & Gunner in a BFG Qualifier as well.
Footage of what happened earlier between Rampage & Kurt is shown.
Main Event
Non-Title Ladder Match
“Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy vs. Bully Ray
These two faced off earlier this year in a Full Metal Mayhem Match with Bully winning via hitting Jeff with a hammer knocking him off the ladder through a table. Tonight a hammer will be hanging from the ceiling and the person that pulls it down will be able to use it. Hardy dives over the top with a Plancha onto Ray before he can even get in the ring! Hardy then slams him into the ring steps and tosses him into the ring. Hardy shoves Ray into the corner and then hits a series of shoulder blocks and punches. Hardy then hits a Splash and attempts to whip Ray into the opposite corner, but Bully reverses it only for Hardy to float up into a Spinning Headscissors! Ray rolls out of the ring but Hardy nails him with a Dropkick through the ropes followed by a Diving Clothesline off the apron! Hardy slams Bully into the ring steps repeatedly and then Hardy pulls a ladder out and brings it into the ring. Ray trips him and pulls him out to the apron and slams his knee into it.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
Back from the break Bully headbutts Hardy in the chest repeatedly before chopping him. Bully then hits a Splash in the corner and taunts the pro Hardy crowd. Bully grabs Hardy’s leg and rolls forward snapping Hardy’s leg into the mat. Ray picks Hardy up and Hardy tries to fight back but gets backdropped way up in the lights! Ray looks like he has a small cut on his forehead. Bully picks up the ladder and slams it on top of Hardy. Ray hits an Elbow Drop and then slams Hardy’s knee into the mat. Ray screams at Hardy that he doesn’t even need a hammer to beat Hardy. Hardy fights back and then bounces off the ropes but runs right into a Big Boot from Bully. Bully does the Hogan taunt and mockingly says “hi dad!” Ray goes for the Bully Bomb but Hardy blocks it and counters into a DDT! Both men are down now. They get back up and exchange punches until Hardy gets the better of Ray! Hardy attempts to whip Ray into the ropes but he reverses it only for Hardy to explode off the ropes with a Flying Forearm! Hardy then hits an Atomic Drop followed by a Leg Drop to the nuts and a Basement Dropkick! Bully retreats to the corner and then Hardy picks up the ladder and sets it up in the center of the ring. Hardy climbs up the ladder but Bully gets up and shoves it. Hardy leaps off the ladder and then hits a Leaping Mule Kick that sends Ray into the corner. Hardy then dropkicks the ladder into Ray’s nuts! A “no more babies” chant starts now. Hardy sets the ladder back up and starts climbing but Bully shoves it over and Hardy lands on the top rope hard! Ray looks over at Taz and screams “TAZ! MY BALLS!” in a funny spot. Ray grabs Hardy but eats a Jawbreaker followed by a clothesline! Hardy climbs back up the ladder but Bully shoves him off again and this time he falls into the turnbuckles. Ray runs at Hardy but eats a back elbow and then Hardy leaps to the top and dives off with the Whisper In The Wind! Hardy climbs up the ladder and grabs the hammer but Ray pulls the ladder out from under him and Hardy takes a WICKED bump as he hits the mat. Ray sets the ladder up again and then drags Hardy away before starting to climb back up the ladder. Ray grabs the hammer and pulls it down as he then he slowly climbs down the ladder. Ray goes to hit Hardy with the hammer but Hardy catches him with the Twist of Fate out of nowhere! Hardy grabs the hammer and Bully begs Hardy not to use it. Hardy swings but Ray avoids him and then takes off up the ramp. Hardy sells his knee as he tries to chase Ray and falls down and actually grabs his hip too. In the back Ray continues to run away but Hulk Hogan sneaks up behind him with a hammer and goes to hit Bully with it! Brooke then runs up and screams at him not to do it. Bully sees it and runs away as Hogan looks like he wants to hit Brooke with it now.
