Titan in Japan
CMLL’s Titan continued his current tour of Japan as a part of New Japan’s Best of Super Juniors Tournament. After falling to former WWE star Trent Barreta in his first Tourney match he was able to pick up his first win against Hiromu Takahashi. Titan used a Tornilla to win the match as a tribute to Hector Garza.

Hector Garza Passes Away
In the biggest (and saddest) piece of news this week longtime lucha star Hector Garza passed away on Sunday, losing his battle to Lung Cancer that he’s been fighting since last year. Octagon Jr. Signs with WWE
It looks like the much rumored signing of AAA’s Octagon Jr. aka Samuray del Sol to WWE is official now. SuperLuchas reported this past weekend that he has officially signed with WWE and is planning to move to Florida soon to work with WWE’s developmental territory NXT. Octagon Jr. wrestled briefly under the Octagon Jr. name and became very popular in AAA quickly and has been one of the top Indy wrestlers in America over the last year or two.
Dr. Wagner Returns
At this week’s AAA Press Conference Dr. Wagner Jr. officially returned as he “surprised” the people at the Press Conference. Wagner argued with Konnan and declared that he teaming with Electroshock, Parka, & Octagon in the legends match, El Canek was announced as the 4th man for the Villano team.

– Perro Aguayo Jr. dedicated his TripleMania match to his fallen friend and had Hector’s name on his wrist tape while many of the other luchadors wore armbands in honor of Garza:
– Fabi forced her sister to submit in the 2nd match and then Taya attacked her after the match.
– Things got wild in the 3rd Match:

– Axxel was stretchered out of the ring but Daga ran over and flipped the stretcher over.

This week Ultimo Dragon’s Toryumon Mexico released the power for “DragonMania VIII” which will take place June 15th in Arena Mexico. No matches have been announced but the stars listed thus far are Ultimo Dragon, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Suwa, Otoko Sakari, Brazo de Platino, Loco Max, Ohara, La Nazi, Baby Star, Bastet, Pequeno Volador Jr., Fussion, Infierno, Latino, Krator Jr., Vengador, Rayder, Celestick I, Celestick II, Doky, Hanaoka, & Leonidas representing Japana nd Mexican Indies. Mil Mascaras vs. Terry Funk
This past weekend Puerto Rican promotion WWL announced that they would be headlining their events on 08/02 (Eagle Pass, TX) and 08/04 (San Antonio, TX) with Terry Funk vs. Mil Mascaras. American & Lucha legends facing off the first time and I believe this is Funk coming out of retirement (for about the 5th time). Also, Sabu vs. Tommy Dreamer has been added to the promotions 07/07 event in Monterrey, Mexico.
