WWE lawsuit over copyright to “Badstreet USA” song
The Hollywood Reporter is featuring an article providing an update on Papa Berg’s lawsuit against WWE over the use of the “Badstreet USA” song. Berg discovered the song had been “improperly and erroneously registered” by WWE that resulted in all royalties being directed back to the company instead. Berg discovered this when he was approached by THQ to use the song in the “Legends of Wrestlemania” video game. U.S. District Judge Jane Boyle ruled the lawsuit would be tried in the state of Texas after WWE tried to get it moved to Connecticut – the location of the company’s headquarters.
