According to a report by Mike Johnson, WWE has released four performers from its NXT developmental system on Friday. They include Derrick Bateman, Sakamoto, Briley Pierce and NXT Diva Audrey Marie.
Bateman was part of Season 4 of WWE NXT on WWE.com in 2010 and the Redemption season from 2011-2012. He was never called up to the main roster and sustained a series of knee injuries during his WWE tenure. Sakamoto was paired with Tensai on WWE TV in 2012, but has not been seen on WWE TV since last Fall. Pierce is the brother of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler and was signed to a developmental deal in 2011. Both Pierce and Sakamoto last appeared on the 5/16/13 WWE NXT, losing to Conor O’Brian. Marie was also signed to a deal in 2011, but was also never called up to the main roster. Marie last appeared on the 4/3/13 WWE NXT.
