WWE Smackdown Results – 12/18/12

Super Smackdown Live
December 18, 2012
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Report by: Mike Tedesco of Wrestleview.com

“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

A video shows Big E. Langston attacking John Cena last night on Raw. The video also questions AJ’s motives and involvement. We’ll also see fallout from Sheamus and Big Show’s altercation with the giant chair from last night’s Raw. John Cena and Sheamus will face Big Show and Dolph Ziggler in tonight’s main event on this commercial free Smackdown.

Miz TV with guests Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee

Lilian Garcia introduces The Miz to the crowd. Miz welcomes us to the most must see talk show in WWE history. Tonight, we’re commercial free. His guests shocked the world at TLC. They did more damage than Lindsey Lohan in a moving vehicle. They didn’t get a chance to explain last night on Raw, but they’ll explain tonight. Miz then introduces Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee. Big E. Langston accompanies them, and they walk down to the ring with their arms around their waists. They show footage of Big E. Langston attacking John Cena during his match against Dolph Ziggler.

Miz asks them, “Why?” AJ steals Miz’ “really” shtick, and she says Miz should have John Cena on the show and ask why he toyed with her heart. If he got the answer to that then this would make sense. She lost her job as General Manager of Raw because she wanted to keep John Cena’s name clean. She thought it was all worth it because this happened: they show footage of John Cena kissing her last month. AJ says that was a Slammy Award! She looks like she’s going to cry. She thought that brought them closer together. She thought they would create something together, but she was wrong. John Cena played with her heart and emotions. She wanted to shout his name from the rooftops and even made him gifts. They show footage of John Cena critiquing what he thought were Vickie Guerrero’s attempts at forging gifts, but AJ really did them. He called them pathetic at the time. AJ says John Cena doesn’t care about anything or anyone but himself. She cared about him, and she wanted to support him. This is what he had to say: they then show footage of John Cena convincing AJ not to go out to the ring. The crowd is chanting “AJ’s crazy.” Supposedly Cena was concerned about her, but he was trying to keep her at arm’s length. She was his dirty secret. Cena was supposed to be more different than Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. She loved them, but they used her and threw her away like trash. Cena was supposed to be better than that. John Cena broke her heart, so she helped Dolph Ziggler break John Cena.

Miz calls them “America’s sweethearts.” Miz mentions that Ziggler called AJ trash a few weeks ago, and now he’s onboard the crazy train. Langston stands in front of Miz, and he asks, “Who?” AJ mentions that he is Big E. Langston, and he doesn’t like when people say mean things about her. Miz tells her to skip around the ring while he thinks of an apology. Ziggler calls Miz clueless. AJ isn’t crazy – she’s passionate, and he learned that last night when Langston came into the ring and crushed John Cena. He also learned when she gave him the hottest kiss in the history of Monday Night Raw. John Cena can win the Slammy for Superstar of the Year, but he doesn’t need awards. Not only did he keep his Money in the Bank contract at TLC, when it comes to John Cena, just like his t-shirt says, he stole the show, and his girlfriend.

Miz says he hopes Ziggler can satisfy each of AJ’s personalities. They deserve each other. She’s been with a monster, a goat face, a gimp, Marky Mark, and now she’s with the sixth member of One Direction. Langston blindsides Miz with a clothesline. Langston then picks him up and crushes his ribs with that finisher. All Ziggler had to do was nod his head. Ziggler, AJ, and Langston stand over Miz as AJ says, “Show off.” AJ skips around as her music plays.

Michael Cole, Josh Mathews, and John “Bradshaw” Layfield talk about what just happened.

Booker T is walking around when he bumps into Teddy Long. Long says there’s a kid that he wants him to take a look at. Brad Maddox introduces himself, and Booker excuses himself. Booker mentions that he’s the kid that screwed Ryback. He also came out during the Slammy. Booker says the kid is creepy. Long says he has a great social media following, and he has a good YouTube show. Booker says he doesn’t trust him. Long asks if Booker is afraid of controversy. Long says the kid has talent, and he’s hungry. Long asks who it could hurt. Booker knows a man needs a second chance. Booker grants the match, and he’ll find out his opponent when he gets out tonight. Booker walks off. Maddox thanks Long and gives a creepy stare as he walks off.

WWE Champion CM Punk cuts a promo with Paul Heyman

WWE Champion CM Punk makes his way to the ring on crutches with his representative Paul Heyman in tow. Punk says he’s been champion for 394 days, the longest reign in the modern era. In twenty years, everyone will look back on him as the greatest superstar of all time. The people couldn’t put their ignorance aside and vote for him as Superstar of the Year. Instead, they shamelessly turned the Slammy Awards, a prestigious show, into a sham of a popularity contest and voted for John Cena. Its clear that winning and losing doesn’t mean much to them. They’re the kind of people that enroll their kids in t-ball leagues that don’t keep score so they don’t know they’re losers like mommy and daddy. The only thing they proved with the vote was that women and men shouldn’t vote. Punk says he expects that sort of behavior from losers, and that’s the way of the world. In the world, there are winners, like him and Heyman, and there are losers, like the crowd.

He expected a little more from John Cena though. Cena knew he shouldn’t have been Superstar of the Year. He knows that Punk is the best in the world and that’s where the trophy belongs. What does he do? Does he hustle to show loyalty and respect? He laid down and showed his true colors. He sucked up to a man that he thinks is a legend and gave the Slammy to Ric Flair. The crowd gives a “Woo,” and Punk says he wants them to support these relics that take away spotlight and money from young lions to pay child support. The one thing more impressive than winning a title 16-times in a 90-year career is winning a title once and holding it for nearly 400 days. Flair has lost more title fights than he’s won, and Punk does not lose in those. Not to John Cena or the knuckle dragging Ryback, who hurt him in the first place. Punk says he’s a real man and the gold standard. The bar is set so high no one can reach it. Two weeks after getting knee surgery, he’s here. Others would stay home, but he pulled himself to this forgotten hellhole and is doing his job. No one else in Pittsburgh is entertaining, such as the women on the Penguins who are on strike. He doesn’t have an offseason. He’s been carrying the company on his back. They paid to see him here tonight. He’ll be back next year, and Paul Heyman will still be holding the title because no one will beat him. Not John Cena, Ryback, Ric Flair, Stone Cold…

Ryback’s music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. Ryback grabs a microphone. Heyman says Ryback knows that CM Punk is not medically cleared to compete. Ryback says, according to doctors, he will be. That’s why he has his sights set on the first Raw of the New Year when he becomes the new WWE Champion. FEED ME MORE! The crowd chants as Punk and Heyman leave.

Ryback vs. Antonio Cesaro

Cesaro applies a side headlock, but Ryback shoulder blocks him out of the ring. The crowd chants, “Feed me more” as Cesaro regroups. Cesaro gets in the ring and shoulders Ryback. Cesaro slides off and throws Ryback into the steel steps.

Cesaro avoids a shoulder in the corner and hits an uppercut off the second rope for a two count. Cesaro stomps the chest for a one count. Cesaro goes to the neck vice this time. Ryback fights up, but Cesaro kicks him. Ryback gets pumped up, and Cesaro tries to stop his momentum. Ryback clotheslines him down and nearly kills him with a back body drop. Ryback hits a spinebuster and kills him with a lariat. Ryback hits Shell Shocked for the win.
