The biggest GCW event of the year happens Saturday, November 28th in Oshawa at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall. And for this year, the 4th Annual GCW SHOWDOWN live event is a special 4-HOUR wrestling spectacular, featuring over 30 superstars from Great Canadian Wrestling, GCW: New Skool and W.I.L.D. divisions. Doors open at 12PM, with bell time at 1PM!
Long-Awaited GCW Returns!
At GCW SHOWDOWN ’09 many familiar faces return to GCW to step into the ring; former WWE Tag Team Superstar HIGHLANDER ROBBIE MCALLISTER, TNA superstar CODY DEANER, the First Lady of Hardcore LUFISTO, SEXXY EDDY and more!
The Main Event will present a tag team reunion that GCW fans have been waiting for. The last GCW event, FINAL WAR, concluded with HAYDEN AVERY reaching out to his old buddy and tag team partner, CODY DEANER, for some help in taking on GCW National Champion JAKE O’REILLY and CRAZZY STEVE. As 2-time former GCW Tag Team Champions, we have come to know that Hayden and Deaner are no strangers to taking care of business in the GCW tag team division. The real question here is how will Jake O’Reilly and Crazzy Steve co-exist as a tag team? We have seen the conflict between them over the last several months. Will their common objective of ruining Hayden and Deaner’s reunion be enough to lead these two individuals to victory?

On top of the stacked roster of GCW regulars, prepare for the unexpected as several superstars make their Great Canadian Wrestling debut on November 28th. One of the most anticipated matches on the card will feature one of Montreal’s most technically gifted athletes, a pro for over 12 years – ‘THE TITAN’ CHAKAL – as he takes on HIGHLANDER ROBBIE MCALLISTER. The Scottish warrior has proven time and time again that he is as powerful as a singles competitor as he is in a tag team situation. Fans are still talking about Robbie McAllister’s GCW Match of the Year candidate in early 2009 – and we expect no different from him on November 28th when he takes on CHAKAL.

While the GCW Tag Team Championship has never changed hands at a GCW SHOWDOWN event, the current champions Ashley Sixx & Cody 45 have several teams eager to change that.
It was at FINAL WAR in September that the last-minute pairing of Cody 45 and Ashley Sixx surprised everyone with their defeat of The Pro-Stars (Josh Alexander & Tyler Tirva) to capture the tag team gold. The Pro-Stars are looking for a rematch, where a victory would hopefully get Tirva and Alexander back on track as the dominant tag team they once were.
The House of Virtue – Sebastian Suave & Andrew Davis – has not given up on their quest to regain the tag team gold that they held a year ago at this time. The GCW championship committee has a difficult decision on their hands leading into SHOWDOWN on November 28th!

Speaking of champions, the International powerhouse, Rico Montana will be heading to the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Oshawa with Ontario Independent Championship belt in-hand – looking for a fight. As of late, the ongoing feud between Rico Montana and ‘The Midnight Special’ RJ City has been far from settled and continues to grow. Both men will be at SHOWDOWN ’09 – What will happen next in this rivalry for Ontario Indy gold?

Over the years, the GCW W.I.L.D. event has featured ‘Sunny’ Tammy Sytch, Natalya Neidhart, Portia Perez, Miss Danyah and many more. This year is no different! Women from around the world are taking part in this year’s W.I.L.D. (Wrestling’s Independent Ladies Division) encounters, including both MELISSA COATES and EVIL LYNN, making their GCW debuts!
You don’t want to miss seeing Canadian Melissa Coates – former WWE Developmental superstar, fitness model, and former bodybuilder – step into the ring, as she looks to destroy the W.I.L.D. competition in GCW. It will be no easy task, however.
She will be joined by GCW W.I.L.D. division competitors: Lufisto, Jamie D, Cherry Bomb, PJ Tyler, Deanna Conda, Karen Brooks, Anna Minoushka, Mary Lee Rose and Evil Lynn.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend October 22nd, due to myself and Ethan Page handling House of Virtue business over seas. But i have looked at the footage and have some interesting insight to what happened that night. Jake O’Reilly and Anthony Darko who never lost the Tag team titles won the 3 corner tag match, but much to my delight the only Interim tag champ in the match was Joey Kingz and neither him or Page’s replacement Logan Savage were pinned. Therefore I have stripped both Jake O’Reilly & Anthony Darko, as well as Joey Kingz and Ethan Page of there respected tag team Titles.
So when GCW-New Skool returns Thursday Dec 10th The Tag Team Titles will be on the line in a Street Fight.

Also, Anthony Fiasco has had 2 big wins in GCW-NS by pinning Boris Brezhnev and Mike Rollins on back to back shows. This impressive new comer has his sights set on gold in GCW-NS and on December 10th his opponent has the same goals in mind.
Mike Alias had an impressive bout with Internet Champion Michael Elgin that some say has been the best match in New Skool history to date. Coming up short, but with his showing he turned many heads as a single competitor, and with a win over Scotty Cameron on Oct 22nd he has his sights set on a rematch

I’m not done yet Internet Champion Michael Elgin had some unkind words for me while I wasn’t there the coward. He is a thorn in the side of House of Virtue. I have been sitting here thinking to myself, What do I have to do to ensure Michael Elgin does not walk out of Oshawa Thursday Dec 10th with the GCW-New Skool Internet Title. Well I tried with Mike Alias and Kenneth Crisis but unfortunatly even with there great efforts Michael Elgin has Risen Above. Mike Alias and Kenneth Crisis will not be forgotten in my eyes but this time I feel I have a fool proof Plan.
I am bringing a man that is widly recognized as one of the best, if not the best Ontario has to offer. I may not agree with everything this man does. Myself, I can’t stand the cheers of the ignorant fans of Indy wrestling, But this man thrives off it. But then again with over 10 years under his belt and a former Tag team Partner of Michael Elgin, who would be better then to defeat him? Ladies and Gentlman even though it sickens me that you will all love and respect him the man to beat Michael Elgin on Dec 10th will be non other then DANGERBOY DEREK WYLDE!
