According to The Orlando Business Journal, the Greater Orlando Sports Commission has a multi-year proposal with an economic impact, to hopefully bring WWE and UFC to the city, with a proposed grant of $18 million.
The proposed grant has been advanced by Orlando’s Tourist Development Tax Sports Incentive Committee. The next step will now be for the grant to be presented to Orange County for final approval. It is being said that the events would see a projected total of 300,000 attendees, 120,000 rooms booked at area hotels and more than $225 million in revenue for the city of Orlando.
The proposed grant includes bids for the following WWE and UFC events:
-A Survivor Series PLE or Saturday Night’s Main Event in November or December of 2026 at the Kia Center.
-A UFC pay-per-view event in August or September 2027 at the Kia Center.
-A Royal Rumble PLE to take place in February 2028 at Camping World Stadium
-WrestleMania in mid-to-late April 2031. Camping World Stadium would serve as the main venue for the big-two night event, while Raw and SmackDown shows during WrestleMania week would take place at the Kia Center.
