According to a new report from News 12 in Orange County in Hudson Valley New York, fans said they were turned away empty-handed by Hulk Hogan after they had stood in line and waited for hours for a promised meet-and-greet with the WWE Hall of Famer at the ShopRite in Montgomery last week.
The fans reached out exclusively to News 12 saying they waited four hours at for a promised meet-and-greet with Hogan at the Hudson Valley store, which was his stops to promote his Real American Beer brand.
“I was there with my son and daughter. It was an exciting day, especially for my son. They said he could only see up to number 200 and we were 185,” says Robert Taylor, from New Windsor.
Taylor also added that he and his young children, who are 7 and 5 years old, were among a large group of people that waited in line and were told they would get to take pictures with Hogan and receive autographs from him. As Taylor and his family moved closer to the head of the line, he said that Hogan left abruptly, leaving them “empty-handed.” “They just stood up and bolted along the back. Some lady was very upset, screaming and cursing. My son just started crying and a bunch of other kids were crying…If he had to leave, he could’ve walked down and shook people’s hands and said ‘Hey, I’m sorry we have to get going,’ rather than just leaving people stranded.” Taylor further said.
Taylor shared a video with News 12 that shows his kids crying in the car after they did not get to meet Hogan. The kids said in the video directed to Hogan – “You’re the worst,” and “Why did you do this?”
Prior to the stop at the Shoprite in Montgomery, Hogan toured multiple other locations in the Hudson Valley area. On his social media accounts, he posts videos of several stops which looked to have big turn-outs with him hugging fans, posing for pictures and providing free buckets of beer to crowds of cheering people. The Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino even declared last Tuesday as “Hulk Hogan Day” to commemorate his stop in Poughkeepsie.
News 12 New York also noted in their report they attempted to contact Hogan’s publicist about the complaints from Taylor and others, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
