Former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe made his return to AEW during Wednesday’s Dynamite Maximum Carnage.
Joe came out to save Katsuyori Shibata and Hook from an attack by The Patriarchy.
Joe was written off AEW programming last July, in a segment in which Jericho pushed Joe through a wall, after winning the street fight against him. Joe was shown being put in on a stretcher. It was being reported at the same time Joe would be taking time off from AEW to film the second season of Twisted Metal, which airs on Peacock.
Joe plays the role of Sweet Tooth on Twisted Metal. The character is voiced by Will Arnett.
