Backstage Segment

“The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre is walking backstage. He will be kicking off the show.

Drew McIntyre kicks off the show

Drew McIntyre makes his way to the ring. The stage is decorated with a Christmas theme.

Video: Last week on Raw, Drew McIntyre was preparing to blindside Seth “Freakin” Rollins backstage, but Sami Zayn interrupted him. This past Friday on SmackDown, McIntyre was attacked by Jimmy Uso with a crutch.

McIntyre stands in the center of the ring. After Hell in a Cell, he has never been so beaten up in his entire lift. He had sixteen staples in his head and nearly broke his back after landing on the steel steps. After that, he went home to Scotland. The reason he went home, which he hasn’t talked about publicly, is because a close family member passed away. Some people might be feeling sympathy. Some guys in the locker room might be saying they didn’t know. Maybe if they cared enough, they’d have asked.

Over these past two months, guess how many people phoned him to check on him mentally and physically? One person. For seventeen years, he’s been led to believe that they’re a family in the back, but it’s all BS. His brother, John, in Scotland wouldn’t stab him in the back to take his spot, but people like Jimmy, Jey, and Sami 100% would. A “YEET” chant picks up. McIntyre says they’ve proved his point. After watching all the horrible things Jey and his family did to people like him, he says he’s a changed man, does a little hand sign, and says a stupid made-up word. They move on. McIntyre has given and given all this time. They turned on him for someone who had been gone for years and told them to go screw themselves. McIntyre fought for them and bled out in Hell in a Cell. When he was gone, they instantly forgot about him. From now on, he will give to nobody. McIntyre will take and tell the truth. The real villains in WWE are Roman Reigns and CM Punk. If you choose to prop them up, like Jey, Jimmy, and Sami, they should sleep with one eye open because he’s coming for them.

Sami Zayn’s music hits, and he comes out to the ring smiling. Zayn has a cut on his right eye from the brawl “last week” (this show was taped after last week’s show). Zayn says McIntyre is angry and thinks everyone has ulterior motives, but Zayn didn’t know what was going on with him. Zayn thought, as did everyone else that McIntrye was recovering from a vicious Hell in a Cell match. Zayn gets in the ring and wants to level with him. Zayn has been in the game for twenty-two years. Everything McIntyre has gone through, Zayn has. Zayn has had loss and gone to work the same week. The sacrifices, like birthday parties, weddings, funerals you should’ve been at, he’s missed it. Zayn has put unnecessary stress on his wife and kid. This is the life they chose. They are WWE Superstars and are lucky to be that. McIntyre thinks this is just their story, but every person in the crowd has stories like that. They struggle at school, economically, and physically. They still get up and soldier on without pointing the finger at everybody else. Then McIntyre points the finger at the crowd and says they forgot about him. Zayn says they didn’t forget. They made McIntyre. McIntyre thinks the world revolves around him because, once upon a time, someone told him he was the Chosen One. Just because McIntyre is mad doesn’t make him special. What Jimmy Uso does has nothing to do with McIntyre. What Jey Uso does has nothing to do with McIntyre. What Sami Uso does has nothing to do with McIntyre. If McIntyre wants to walk around angry and point the finger at everyone, no one is stopping him. If McIntyre has a problem with the Bloodline, Zayn has no problem being McIntyre’s problem and facing him in the ring right now.

McIntyre says it’s not just the anger. The anger comes from a place of pain. Zayn spoke his truth, but it’s not the full truth. Zayn can fly home and see his family. McIntyre’s family is across the ocean. The people of Boston will never leave Boston. McIntyre asks Zayn why he wants this fight. Zayn has never beaten him. McIntyre suggests Zayn back off because he’s not 100% healthy. Zayn’s wife and kid are here. He should go to the back and leave the arena. Of everyone in the Bloodline, Zayn is the least of his worries.

Zayn says McIntyre is right about a few things. When it comes to wins and losses, McIntyre has his number. Zayn hasn’t been 100% since Saturday Night’s Main Event. The smart thing would be to leave and get healthy over the holidays… but he would rather do this. Zayn punches McIntyre and goes for a Blue Thunder Bomb, but McIntyre gets away. McIntyre delivers a Glasgow Kiss and sets up for a Claymore Kick, but “Main Event” Jey Uso makes his return. Uso gets in the ring and superkicks McIntyre. Uso and Zayn then hit McIntyre with a double clothesline over the top rope. McIntyre is furious as Zayn and Uso celebrate in the ring.

Video: Last week on Raw, Pure Fusion Collective viciously attacked Kairi Sane backstage and twisted her knee.

Raw General Manager’s Office

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce is texting when Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark of the Pure Fusion Collective walk in. Deville says Kairi Sane is medically unfit to compete, so she wants it. Pearce says that’s a terrible idea. They took Sane out and think they’re going to get rewarded? No. The spot is filled by IYO SKY. PFC is not happy.

In the arena, IYO SKY makes her way to the ring. She’ll battle Alba Fyre and Natalya in a Triple Threat First Round Match in the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

Sky goes after Natalya, but Natalya drops her onto Fyre. Natalya ties their legs up and applies a double Sharpshooter to Sky and Fyre! Fyre gets to the bottom rope, as does Sky. There are no rope breaks in a Triple Threat Match. Sky quickly snaps Natalya off the top rope. Natalya charges and slides out of the ring to attack Fyre. Sky then wipes out Fyre and Natalya with an Asai Moonsault. Sky gets Natalya in the ring and heads to the top rope. Fyre attacks Sky from behind and climbs to the second rope. Natalya grabs Fyre and gives her a German Suplex off the second rope. Sky then hits Natalya with an Over the Moonsault for the win.

Bálor complains about thinking he would have two titles by the end of December and now has none. Morgan tells Raquel to tell Bálor that the reason she’s on Bálor’s back is because he lost the title and knew this would happen if he kept messing with Damian Priest. Bálor tells JD to tell Morgan something, but Mysterio stops them. Mysterio says he’s going to step up and take on Damian Priest. Bálor asks Mysterio if he thinks he’s better than him.
