According to Fightful Select, Penta El Zero Miedo is now a free agent, as his AEW contract has expired. His brother Rey Fenix is still under contract at this time, as time has been added to his contract do to injuries.
The report also notes AEW has no current plans for Fenix, after it was said Penta had been in contact with WWE. This led to creative changes for Penta and Fenix not winning the AEW World Trios Championships with PAC back at All In. Furthermore, it was said that there was ongoing tension between and AEW that became bigger over this past summer.
Fightful Select concluded there is considerable interest in Penta from the independent wrestling scene. It is still believed that the Lucha Bros are expected to make their way to WWE as “package deal.”
The Lucha Bros are former AEW World Tag Team Champions and AEW World Trios Champions.
