Roman Reigns on WrestleMania XL changes: ‘I was the main event no matter what’

During an interview with SI Media with Jimmy Traina, Roman Reigns addressed the changes being made to the main event of WrestleMania XL.

The show, which saw Reigns team with The Rock to face Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes on the first night before defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Rhodes on night two, previously seemed to build toward a one-on-one match between Rock and Reigns after Cody stepped aside despite winning the Royal Rumble.

Reigns stated that it did not matter whether Rhodes or Rock faced him for the championship that night, adding:

I was the main event no matter what. I’m the guy that everyone wanted to dance with. I’m the hot chick. Everybody wanted to take me out. It was one of those things where, we just need to get there and defend this thing. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re trying to stop history from happening. They’re trying to take this off of the pinnacle right now. It was the same task at hand for me.

Rhodes went on to defeat Reigns for the championship on night two, with the man then known as the Tribal Chief taking time off before returning at SummerSlam to contend with Solo Sikoa taking over The Bloodline.

Reigns and Sikoa are set to collide as captains of their respective squads for War Games this Saturday at Survivor Series, emanating from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
