Ricky Starks makes surprise appearance at Saturday’s GCW Dream On PPV

Ricky Starks made a surprise appearance at Saturday’s GCW Dream On PPV, which took place from the The American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey. and featured appearances by Mick Foley and Kurt Angle.

Starks interrupted a promo by Jimmy Lloyd, who then asked Starks if he is supposed to be “in catering” up the street at the Prudential Center, which is where AEW’s Full Gear pay-per-view takes place from on Saturday night. Starks then dropped Lloyd with a DDT and spoke to the fans.

Starks said the following:

“I think everyone wants a statement from Ricky Starks, huh? Well, the statement is I’m standing right here in the middle of a GCW ring…passion runs through my blood, and I will be damned if I sit at home and I get frozen out. I’ll be damned if I sit at home and let my career dwindle. I am 34 years old. I’m healthy. I am good looking, and most importantly, I am a generational superstar. I’m going to come back to where I came from in the very beginning. And why not start in one of the hottest promotions right now, GCW.”

After Starks’ promo, Lloyd recovered and attempted to attack Starks from behind, but Starks ducked him and then speared him to close the segment, as Stark’s music played.

Starks last appeared for AEW back on the March 30 episode of Collision, when he and Big Bill lost a tag team tournament match to Top Flight. An audible was called, with the match being awarded to Top Flight after it had initially appeared Starks may have landed on his neck awkwardly. Starks did not kick out of a pinfall attempt that was not supposed to be a three-count. He later said that he checked out fine and that AEW was taking precautions.

There has been much speculation surrounding Starks as his future AEW is unclear. Starks is also set to compete at the House of Glory PPV, which will take place from the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago, on January 17, 2025.

WWE Hall of Famers Kurt Angle, Mick Foley and JBL also made appearances at Saturday’s GCW event.
