Charity says they are addressing issues with Jacob Fatu privately after no-showing event

Jenn Harper, the Director of Jake’s Network of Hope in Wisconsin, which is the charity that accused now WWE Superstar Jacob Fatu in 2023 of not returning a payment after he had no-showed a fundraiser, released a new statement to The Takedown on SI regarding the issue.

Harper also noted that the issue with Fatu is being addressed privately.

In 2023, Fatu received payment from Jake’s Network of Hope to appear at a pro wrestling fundraiser. However, Fatu then ended up not being able to make the event, citing he had a family emergency. Jake’s Network asked Fatu to return the $2,633 he was paid. Fatu never returned the money. At the time, Harper told NBC 26 that Fatu ghosted Jake’s Network, the production team and the person who booked him for the event.

Harper issued the following statement to The Takedown on SI:

Jacob Fatu and our organization are addressing this matter privately, beginning with a phone call and heartfelt apology back in May. While the full amount owed hasn’t yet been repaid, we appreciated Jacob’s acknowledgment. It can be tough to face up to your wrongdoings, and we commend him for taking steps toward confronting his.”
